KONGwhy did you do this? You make a treat that my dog loves, but you give it the most horrific smell imaginable. It smells like some sort of vitamin and when my dog chews it, I GAG the whole time. I can not give them to him anymore because he chews it on my couch and gives off the offensive odor and leaves a gross residue behind. I hate that I have to throw this bag out, but there are a million other products out there that don't smell like this. Also..what's up with the shape of these? LOL!I thought these would be great in the Kong, but they just aren't the right size. Seem to be tasty and the dogs love the treats though.

She is getting one of these FunBites a day. She enjoys them as her regular food does not provide any challenge. These are not your traditional raw hide chews. They are more workable and have a nice boost of dicalcium phosphate and calcium bicarbonate. I thought I was ordering the refill for the incline Kong Scratcher. This product is what was brought up when I put "Kong Refill" in the search engine. Now with that said, I still like the product. I just leaned it against something and the cats took to it immediately. My incline had been used so much (and reversed) that they couldn't use it the way it was intended. Our cat is 13 and has never really loved any scratching furniture we've bought her. But when we put down a new area rug, she nearly decimated it in 2 nights. So we ordered a Kong. We have 3 cats and we've used cardboard scratchers for them before. Usually, about 2-3 weeks after we put one out, we need to flip it over and give them the second side. With the Kong scratcher, we've had it out for over a month now and haven't had to flip it over. We have two smaller dogs, 13 and 14 pounds. They both loved to chew on these bones. They would chew for hours--until there was nothing left! Then one day one of them got sick. Within 36 hours he was gone! We are devastated! A piece of nylabone broke off and lodged in his intestine. It did not show up on X-Rays since it is a plastic substance. Always supervise your pet with their toys. You never know when something like this can happen. We have found that this is not an isolated occurrence. I just want to see that the "Most Helpful Critical Review" is NOT what you should go off of. At the time of writing, this person claims warnings and that your dog can die. If you read your review, she states her dogs chew at these until nothing is left. For the record, the instruction manual in the packaging and common sense say that if large chunks are breaking off or the nubs on the end get too worn, then THROW IT AWAY. Not doing so can very well kill your dog, but thats because hes not using it properly. People die from ladders too, doesnt mean I'm gonna stop using it so long as I follow instructions.

My 12 year old golden has a new life with this food. She had a lackluster appetite before Merrick came into our home. I found it at a local organic pet store. Their price was ridiculous nearly $3 per can. I bought a few to try I was amazed at the results! I haven't seen my 75 lb. dog jump vertical with glee in many years. I mix it with her dry food. One can will last 3-4 days. The difference in her level of activity and enthusiasm is unbelievable! I went to the local store to negotiate their price on buying bulk based on what I could get it on line and the best they could do was a 10% discount. First three ingredients: Turkey, Duck, Chicken. Plus a garden variety of fresh vegetables when I read the label. Sounds like good eats to me. It does not have the aversive smell that some canned dog foods have; it smells yummy and has a nice gravy that is good for mixing with dry food. Short and sweet.....The product itself is top notch and my two GSD's love it. However, the last shipment looked like it was packaged by a three year old and thus it arrived via UPS with a can lid popped open spilling its contents over the other dented cans. Another case arrived seperately which was properly packaged using air pillows and was fine. Don't get sloppy Amazon. It will cost you customers.
