Sadly, I've come to think of myself as a 'bully stick connoisseur.' Some bullys are too thin, some not the length promised, and others stink to high heaven. At under $37 for 15 braided twists of 3 TRUE 6" bullys which seem low odor, these are a steal. My dog will mow down a bully stick in about 10 minutes. These last about 30 minutes, so we get 3x the value.

I've gotten these in a stick form before from my local specialty pet store & my dog tore through it. He's a 1 year old lab so I wanted something that kept him entertained longer than 10 minutes (the time it took him to get through a typical bully stick. These fit the bill. He works on it for a bit, getting it to "un-braid" & then has 3 individual sticks to work on. These keep my active chewer busy for a long time. They have a mild odor while he's chewing on them (and they get wet) but normally they don't have a smell (and the mild odor isn't unpleasant).

Anyway for the price, these are a great deal. I'm about to order my second batch & figured I should write a review at the same time. :)

I have a crazy dog. This is the ONLY thing that slows her down and gives me peace. It lasts hours and hours! I love these things. I will be re-ordering more as she is ONLY 4 months and it will be awhile before she starts acting like a lady! :-)

these bully sticks are my dog's favorite and I can feel good about giving them to her as they are not unhealthy and the price is very reasonable considering what you would pay if you purchase the same number in a pet supply store.

My cattle dog went through them fairly quickly, maybe 10-15mins each.

These are no better or worse than a regular pet store.... the seller should either

provide a stick that's superior in some way (probably thicker and longer lasting,

say) or a bully stick that's cheaper than the pet store.... If you're going to

buy from Amazon you'd expect that to offset the trouble of shipping them

and not being able to examine them before purchase and the risk of a return.

A couple of the sticks were not triple braided, but that's to be expected.

No odor problem, but on the other hand I never found that to be an issue....

These bones are larger than the ones you can purchase at Petsmart and they are individually wrapped just like at Petsmart. My dog loves them. I will definitely buy from here again. Funny story about these, my dog is never tied up b/c of our underground electric fence. The UPS driver left this box with 6 bones on the front porch. My dog has never ever touched a box that was delivered. But I guess he smelled the bones inside. When I got home he had three of the bones out laying on our front porch with him and he left three in the box. I couldn't punish him for this b/c he knew the smell and the package was for him.

My cats can't type so I'll tell you what I see when these come out of the cupboard -two excited wiggling felines on the floor can't wait until these are in their bowls. One is a pretty picky Siamese girl. The other cat will eat anything. Both love these. I try to buy only natural freeze-dried type treats for them. They don't like all of them. But these are a hit. These are our cats' favorite treats. We use them to "bribe" our cats so we can trim their claws. We have tried a few other treats before, but after awhile they don't care about being bribed and actually have become afraid of the other treats because to them it means it's nail clipping time. Not so with these treats they put up with our nail trimming, and then they get very excited, and even pushy, to find the treats afterward. They get so excited they grab at our hands to find more too. We love them!

Cats will love these treats, and if you give them at a specific time, they will stand waiting for them--not patiently.:)

They are pure chicken liver, so you can feel good about giving them to your pets.

The smell is...well, by human standards it is pretty awful, but by animal standards it is wonderful.

(The pug will not eat his kibble unless some of the crumbs are sprinkled on first, to give you an idea of how good these smell to animals.)

I would buy a case of them if I could. I know they would be eaten, unlike some other treats that fall out of favor with finicky cats.

When I ordered this item, I expected to receive at least the same value of the ones I've purchased at my local store for years. I was underwhelmed at the product vs. the cost of comparables at the brick and mortar stores, and to top it all off, my dog doesn't care for these at all (this is a dog that will eat/chew on nearly anything we give him). I have to put peanut butter on these bones just to get him to chew them, I wish I had just bought a Kong instead.

The description states that the item weight is 17 lb. IT IS NOT. It's probably more like 7 lb., since the shipping box weight was listed a 8 lb. by Amazon.

Not such a great value, considering the actual weight of the product.

I received this order today. I ordered this product because it looked like a good deal and the only thing I had to go by was weight of product. Well, when it showed up from UPS I knew something was wrong. The box showed 8 lbs. shipping weight (and I ordered another item that was in the box), and I picked it up and it definitely wasn't 17 lbs., 7 at best. It wasn't in a box; it was a generic clear bag without a label. I contact Amazon and since it wasn't directly from amazon, they could only offer to email a return label. I definitely won't buy from this seller again. A pain for me and especially disappointed because I buy a lot of merchandise from Amazon.

These bones were a good value, and were consistently sized. We got the 4-5" set, which came with exactly 51, as described on the product page. Most were around the lower end of the size range -4". The bones came in a zippered plastic bag, similar to the type of bag a sheets would come in, rather than a box as described on the product page.

Thanks to all of the Amazoners who wrote reviews! I ordered this last week for my border collie. He is not that big of a dog, but a big chewer. He used to chew on everything, outdoor furniture, plants, wood, rocks out of our pond. And anything I bought for him didn't last. He is still chewing on this big ring after a week, and has only taken about a 3 inch piece out of it. At this rate, it should last a couple of more weeks.

Last night he even got up in the middle of the night and wanted to go outside and chew on his ring. Very good value.

Update 8/17/2013 I've ordered several more of these since last year. They all last him a couple of months. He now gets very excited, and whines when the UPS truck comes. He's expecting another Chunky Chew!

The previous reviewer is obviously unfamiliar with the benefits of feeding freeze dried and raw or low processed foods. Most dogs cannot easily digest kibble and those that seem to don't get all the nutrients they are meant to have. Consider living on a diet of fast food versus cooking at home with whole foods. Your pets are meant to kill, scavange and eat whole foods, NOT ultra processed kibble! Yes it is more expensive then kibble....but it is so worth it. I have a dog with chronic allergies and digestive problems, the only thing that has helped is keeping his diet as natural as possible and supplimenting with digestive enzymes and an essential fatty acid. Please don't read the previous review and dismiss the wonderful benefits of freeze dried raw diets. Do your research, then decide which food is best for your dog.

I've ordered bully sticks from this company for more than 2 years and have always been pleased. However, I received an INFERIOR order (BULK order $$$$$$$$) this month. I do believe it was a matter of a poor/true description of the new product. (because NOW there is a better description since I complained) But now I have over $150 worth of bully sticks that I refuse to allow my dogs to eat. They smell and the quality is so inferior. They look like they are falling apart (if you know what a bully stick is you'll be as surprised as I was!) and some of the ends look like they've been cut so pieces are barely hanging on. That's a choking issue waiting to happen. I'm not one to let them chew alone either!! The company president (Yeller) refuses to allow me to trade for another brand or give me credit. These are individually wrapped! I only opened ONE of the pacakges. He said since I've opened A package, I can't return the other 58??? Poor customer service so be careful!! I'll never shop there again.

They are pizzles (those of you with dogs know what that means) BUT they are hormone free, the company drains the blood and urine out of them before processing them so they don't stink to high heaven when your dog chews. truly are mammoth sized! i have 3 pit bulls and they love these, and the price for 6 versus individual is really worth it. i gave them 3 of the bones 2 months ago. The smallest of the 3 has end nubs chewed off and then the middle shaft broken down into 3 smaller bones, the middle sized one is down to the middle section, and the largest one they are still working on chewing the giant ends. and I still have 3 more waiting as Christmas presents. Our two puppies love chewing on things and get extremely excited when we get a new pack of these rawhides. (Truthfully they get excited about everything.) But these where the only rawhides we could find that where not produced in China. While I cannot prove the cattle in Brazil are treated any better then in any other part of the world, these chews tend to have a more uniform color and cleaner look then some of the generic brands.

These petite chews, which are more suited for toys breeds, are a good treat that also helps to clean your dog's teeth. I've experimented between the petite and small size chew and found, that for my dogs, the petite is preferred. They can actually consume these, which they do, rather quickly. That's the only down side...they don't last long. The price here at Amazon is much better than what my vet charges for these, even with shipping, if you buy several packages at a time.
