My dog has been suffering from seizures so I am in the process of switching him to a grain free diet in hopes of helping reduce the seizures along with his medicine. I searched for 'grain free' treats on Amazon and these popped up.

In the product description it says: "Three Dog Bakery Biscuits Peanut Butter are all-natural, oven baked and wheat free premium dog cookies that your dog will love and you can trust."

Unfortunately I got the bag and opened it and fed a few to my dogs, who thought they were delicious and wanted more. I read the package and it says: "Whole wheat flour, wheat flour, peanut flour, canola oil, granulated peanuts, dried molasses, dried whole egg, citric acid (preservative), and mixed tocopherols (preservative)."

Definitely NOT WHEAT FREE. I fed these to them since I had already opened them and the dogs seemed to like them but I won't be buying these again. I am glad my dogs don't have a serious allergic reaction to wheat and that I wasn't further along in the process of switching to grain free or I would've been REALLY upset. I'm just bummed that this item was falsely advertised. Especially since they aren't cheap.

Cloud Star's Tricky Trainers are bite-sized, palatable, chewable treats that are approximately 0.5 inches big. They come in three main flavors: cheddar, liver, and salmon. I sampled (well, JP, my dog, sampled) two flavors: cheddar and liver. These treats were perfect sized for putting into a Kong treat dispenser, and were generally palatable (JP finds them much more palatable then dry treats). I found the Tricky Trainers surprisingly more "dry" than most pocket-sized treats, however. In other words, they don't seem to be oily to touch, aren't excessively moist, and have a high anti-squish (i.e., firm) factor. This is beneficial if you're using them as true training treats to reward your dog (i.e., storing them in your pocket). Their con: I found the cheddar smell to be repulsive it has a really strong smell, so if you're cheese shy, avoid. Cheddar is the 5th ingredient (remember, ingredients are listed in descending order of predominance (from most to least). For the other two flavors, chicken liver and salmon are listed first. The other con: the number of calories per treat isn't listed, so we don't know exactly how "low fat" or "low calorie" they truly are. The final con: if you have a super picky puppy that you are trying to train (and are using these as food motivation rewards), these may not work as well as small pieces of hot dog or pieces of freeze-dried liver treats. When it comes to puppy training, finding a treat that your dog can't resist is imperative to get them to train correctly!

These products are listed as wheat and corn free, which is good if your dog has these specific food allergies. That said, if your dog doesn't have these specific allergies, not a big deal. The good news: all ingredients are natural, made in the USA, and the products contain no artificial favors or colors. Overall, a pretty good training treat!

We tried all the grass protective brands, and we found that greenums work best for our dog and our lawn. The treat form is the easiest to administer to a dog who doesn't like pills. He really likes greenums they're like a little treat before breakfast and dinner. And, oddly enough, the treats are cheaper (per day) than the pills. Good deal.

Edit: My dog likes this brand and they are highly effective, but on my last purchase, the treats reeked of rancid oils. They were within the expiration date, so they were either a defective batch or they had been stored improperly.

I first discovered these on a recommendation by the owner of a local pet store in Middleburg, Virginia. He said that it was a product that he couldn't keep on the shelves and it done wonders for many of the owners who come in and bought it. As you can see, I was very skeptical of such a recommendation, but boy was I wrong. My dog is an 11 year old Golden Labrador Mixed. We started giving him the nickname, "Old Man" a few years ago, because he was starting to get up slowly, walk around slowly, wouldn't run, had to stretch and *hated* I mean HATED going up the stairs to go to bed. Now, things are much different.

We started giving him 1 treat every morning as his "medicine". It took about a week and half to fully see the difference, but it was amazing. It was so long since I had seen him run around the house, or run to the door when he thought someone was there knocking. One of the funniest things now is Pizza Night. He knows that when he sees the pizza man or when someone is bringing it over that he's going to have a good night. Either myself or fiance, will take one of our Crusts from the pizza and begin tossing pieces of it it to him. Before he would let it hit him in the face and fall to the ground or we would have to let him eat it from our hands, but now he is snatching it right out of the air when we toss it. He'll jump in the air to catch it if he has too!! One of the biggest differences we have seen, even after all the other things, is that he now runs up the stairs when everyone is ready for bed. That is a big thing for an older dog to do. These treats are amazing.

It really has changed his life, and it has made us feel so happy to see him excited and want to run around and play like he was a young dog again. I passed some treats on to a co-worker after telling him all about these changes, and he is now a believer as well.

I would recommend these to anyone who has a dog that is starting to slow down because of age. Remember though, It takes about a week or two before it starts working. So, don't be discouraged if its not right away.

A friend of mine gave me a bag of the beef version of Sea Mobility jerkey strips, and my dog loved them so much I decided to try the venison. She's crazy about both flavors. She gets one jerky strip after each afternoon walk, and can barely contain herself as she waits for me to open the bag and feed her the jerky strip. The strip is scored so you can give the treat in several pieces at just the right amount for your dog's weight. I don't know how much extra help the glucosamine gives her, since she's on regular supplements for that anyway. But I'll keep giving Sea Mobility jerky strips to her because it's delightful to watch her joyful behavior when I reach into the cabinet and take out the bag containing her favorite treat.

I have used Ark Natural for years and that says a lot about their products. When I first started with the different products they carry, I asked my vet what she thought of them. She gave me the thumbs up and said the products appeared to be of good quality. This is the first time I have tried the Mobility venison Jerky, but just comparing ingredients convienced me these are of higher quality than any other brand I have looked at. These Yaky Yams are hard as rock!!! My dog just gave it a whiff and turned away...didn't want anything to do with it. After seeing how hard in texture it was I didn't want to give it to my dog. I figured in case she swallowed it whole (they are about an inch in diameter) and since it is so hard, it would just stay stuck in her throat! Not purchasing again!

All Smokehouse products were recalled in 2007, 'PetSmart has pulled various Smokehouse Brand dog treats off of their shelves. There have been reports of pets becoming ill after eating the treats, and as a precaution, PetSmart has removed the products.' Better research your pets food before you feed them if you want them to be around for awhile. Better to pay a little more than feeding your pet God only know what!

I ordered these kabobs for my very picky Havanese. I used them as his special bedtime treat (after teeth brushing). The kabobs in the first six bags I ordered looked just like the picture (like chicken treats wrapped around a stick) and my dog loved them. The sticks in the first two batches were about 4 inches long and I broke the treats in half. I just received my third batch of three bags. They look horrible and nothing like the picture (in fact they don't even look like chicken!). The sticks are about 2 to 2-1/2 inches long (not long enough to break). My dog turned his nose up at what used to be his very favorite bedtime treat. What makes it worse, is that when I read the description on the bag, there's a warning to wash your hands after handling and something about the treats being exposed to radiation for your safety. I have no idea what that means, but safety and radiation in the same sentence seems contradictory to me and a bit scary, and of course I don't have the bags from the first orders to compare to this most recent order. I will not order these treats again. What a shame.

My history with this product:

My dog was very ill for 3 days: violent diarrhea and vomiting. Called vet after first day, they instructed me to keep him on a bland diet, and to bring him in if this persisted more than 3 days. Luckily, he got better and I didn't have to take him in. I thought, maybe it's just my dog and he has a sensitive stomach?

I went to the web to research the product and found others had experienced the same thing. So I wondered...why is this product still on the market? I contacted Purina, and after no luck with them (who claimed they never heard of any complaints), I contacted the FDA, which currently has this product under surveillance.

By the way, my dog is not a toy breed, he's a 20 lb. mutt. So say what you want to say about the latest 'not meant for toy breed' disclaimer on the package, he doesn't fall into that category.

Sure, some dogs can tolerate this treat, but why take a chance on your pet's health and life?

I'm always skeptical when buying from the lowest priced vendor, but I'm happy to say these are AT LEAST as good as any pig ears you will find in the store.
