Bad reviews for this jar had me worried, but I actually like it. First off, mine arrived in good condition. The shipper probably could have used more bubble wrap, but it arrived to my door safely and I would have just used it to freak out my dog anyway (jk) so all in all, I was pleased. Secondly, the jar is actually a lot bigger than the picture makes it seem. I was concerned it might be too small but it easily fit 3 8 ounce packages of training treats with room to spare. It is big enough that I need to pick it up with both hands. It might not be big enough to hold a box of milkbones due to their weird shape, but if you buy smaller treats or treats with a uniform shape (like squares or circles instead of a bone shape) then you should be able to fit a large number of treats into the container. For reference, I have a beagle mix. He's not going to empty this jar anytime soon even though he gets treats all day. The one downside to this jar is that the airtight ring around the top is pretty cheap. It does not fit snugly and if it is in the wrong position will keep the lid from coming off easily. The first time I closed it (before noticing the ring was all weirdly placed, I was scared I was going to snap the bone off the top.

This was super cute, but it came broken. That isn't the reason why I give it 3 stars. Purely as a product review, I admit I was a little relieved it came broken and I could send it back, because it was smaller than I had hoped. I had the option of getting a replacement, but I chose another style. It was just a little too small to be useful.

My dogs are going to town on this thing, it's really small but appears to be good quality. Has a decent smell to it and most of its soft enough that the dogs can actually bite off a little "meat".

Our German Shepherd and Lab puppy love these treats. We use them to train our puppy as they are the perfect size and we give them to our GS as a reward every once in a while. They love them and I love that they are all natural and healthy.

These are perfect training treats, good size, dry so you can just put a few in your pocket, good for the dog, good ingredients.

Problem is why the heck are they charging $8 for them?

I buy these all day long at our local Grocery store for $3.50 a box.

So the treats get a 5 star.

The price they are outa their mind.

Edit: Feb 20th, LOL I do the "Tell us about a lower price" thing above, saying I get them at $3.49 at mt local grocery store and have been for about a year, that is their normal price at the store, I have seen them numerous places for no more than $6 and bada bing they raise the price now from $8 to $11 ROTFL.

Why not just make it $19.95.

I would suggest any one reading this to buy these at Harris Teeter if you have one in your area.

Edit: March 20th, I just bought 4 boxes of these on sale (buy one get one free)at Harris Teeter so they were $1.75 per box.

I've been buying this wheat-free healthy dog treat since it was first made by a small husband-and-wife company and called Barkwheats. The couple sold their product to Clear Conscience Pet and the name of the treat was changed, as well as the price increased. A representative of Clear Conscience told me the amount in the bag increased, but I don't think ONE OUNCE warrants such a large price increase. I have no choice but to keep buying the product because it's the only safe treat for my dog, but I do resent the price hike.

UPDATE: I continue to buy this product from Amazon to avoid shipping charges, but still feel that the price increase is unjustified. Since it's the only treat my dog can safely have, Clear Conscience Pet has me over the proverbial barrel. If I ever find it for a cheaper price from another distributor (product and free shipping), I'll buy it there.

at first my dog LOVED these treats, now he refuses to eat them. I think they're great, natural and made in the USA, but i'm not the one eating them so I guess that doesn't matter. I would definitely buy them again if my dog liked them.

Compared to the price at Petco or Petsmart, this is a good value. There is ample wash and solution to treat several (at least a couple dozen) times. That being said, make sure you have a mite issue before using this. I would purchase this along with Zymox Otic and use that for a few days first if you are unsure it is mites. The Zymox will handle almost anything other than mites, so if the problem persists after a few days of Zymox, break into this stuff. Always wash the ear with the cleaner first pat dry and apply the miteicide. It is quite possible to administer every other day as opposed to everyday. Treat the first 2 days in a row, then 2 or 3 additional treatments skipping a day in between. Treat both ears, even if the problem seems to be present in only one. Also, it is usually best to treat all susceptible animals in the home regardless if they show symptoms if you are sure that 1 of your critters has mites.

I used this product as per directions on a perfectly healthy 8 yr. cat. He jumped down, shook his head violently, then ran and hid in a closet for 10 hours. My wife found him and placed him on our bed. He would not move. He wouldn't eat or drink. He stayed on the bed and didn't move an inch for 5 hours. I picked him up, placed him on the floor and he tried to walk away. He kept falling down. I immediately took him to the vet. He has pyrethrin poisoning. Treatment so far is over $100.00 (1st visit) and I have to take him back in 1 week for liver function tests to see if this poison caused any permanent damage if, of course,he's still alive. This was a house-only cat who hasn't had a sick day in his life, UNTIL NOW! He was POISONED and could still die from this over-the-counter product.

When I noticed one of the strays had huge sores behind his ears, I took him to the vet. Turns out, the sores were indirectly caused by ear mites -the darn things itched so much, that the cat had scratched his skin raw. I got slapped with a $100 bill for the treatment.

When I noticed the cat scratching his ears again, I was very pleased to find a much more cost effective method for ear mite control. The day after applying the solution, the cat stopped itching his ears.

However, be warned that application is not the easiest thing when it comes to cats. They resist the smell and they certainly don't like having liquid forced in their ears.

My cat was a stray and had ear mites. I tried just cleaning her ears but the next day they would be just as dirty again. The first time i used this i wraped my cat in a towel and sat in the bathtub to apply the drops in her ears. WARNING!!! Open a window first, this product has a very strong odor. Do not try to apply drops by just using the bottle!!!! Big mistake i made the first time, our cat freaked out and some got into her eye. Use a cotton ball or cotton pad. Apply 3-5 drops to the cotton pad or ball then place it into your pets ear rubbing and squeezing gently for a minute or so then repeat. Then the same with the other ear. afterwards take a tissue or dry cotton pad and gently clean out the black gunk. Do not use a Q-tip! Applying this product this way will not make a mess or freak our pet out. Within a few days my cat isn't scatching her ears and they are now clear of the mites.

I just want to say that I googled a natural home remedy and found diluted vinegar to be one of them. My dog was in so much pain he could not stop shaking his leg. I love my animals and I did not want to use harsh chemicals but guess what, the product did not cause them any harm. It works good and is not so bad. Just read the instructions and have a helper handy. It is also very inexpensive. It's under $10 and if you are like me with a dog and a cat it treats both so you save again. You should check the reviews on other sites as well if you are considering this product. The product does smell but seriously, would you rather have your pet scratch his ears off?

I would be much happier with this product if it was not made in China. Although my dogs love Happy Hips I do not give them to my 5 dogs as much anymore now that I have discovered they are made in China where many unsafe dog products are manufactured. I've been worried about all the controversy over jerky for pets made in China. I had always used Dogswell, and have assurances from authorities that the manufacture is handled safely , with good quality protein and added vitamins etc. my boy loves these, and it's the first thing he gets in the AM. Our 17 year-old Aussie takes six pills a day for arthritis and thyroid. I have been putting his pills in a half of a Snausage for years.
