I am so lucky to have found Dermacept. My little 4 yr old Shitz Shu girl has had seasonal allergies since I got her at 2 yrs old. It got so bad her fur was falling out in patches and you can see the raw skin from all the scratching. Not to mention to see & feel the suffering she was going through. I believe in Holistic medicine for my family and it extends to my fur babies. After searching & finding Dermacept on the net, I followed the dosage recommendations and gave her 1 full tablet for first 5 days and then taper down to 1/2 tablet after that. Her symptoms were so severe that I kept her on full dosage for a month and slowly she got better. If you read the web site, they also tell you that it may take a month or more to see results. Holistic medicine or supplements are not like conventional meds, it is a gradual process because it is basically assisting your body to heal itself. Well, when I noticed that the scratching begin to slowly subside, I was so relieved and I have been using Dermacept ever since. What I have learned since then is that you can technically stop giving the supplement when you no longer see grass growing during the coldest winter months, but you must start giving your pet the supplement at least a month in advance before the anticipation of spring plants growing (I had to learn the hard way). This way it will save your little one a lot of unnecessary suffering. $35.00 for a 3 month supply (more if 1/2 dose) is a bargain especially if you compare it to vet bills and the really bad side effects of steroids. I now give Dermacept year round and will may even give it to my other pets as a maintenance vitamin since it is full of antioxidants.

Don't bother try any others. This one is tops! My dog doesn't gobble it up in 30 seconds nor lose interest in it after 5 minutes because it loses taste. Busy chews last about five to ten minutes of total enjoyment! Only wish I could get the bigger 9 oz boxes and find them at grocery store. There are about 15 chews in each of this size box.

Prior purchases were darker and had a lot more flavor. My two Shih Tzu's just chewed on them for hours. This purchase was bland and had no flavor. Appears manufacturer was saving money by providing less color and flavor. The final test was when the dogs looked, smelled and walked away. Opened several more but the test was the same.

We have tried several different "chewables" for our dog, and we have found that she either eats them too quickly, or loses interest (as another reviewer mentioned). We tried her ont he Purina Chewnola, but she just started chewing off the granola layer and then hiding the rawhide part under furniture!

With the heartyhides, she has YET to not finish one in a sitting, and will happily trot off with one in her mouth to work on for 10 minutes or so. Such a great treat to keep her busy, and it's basted in chicken flavor so that tail keeps wagging!

Definitely recommended!

Trying to cut down on the cost and size of dog pig ears I purchased these after reading the reviews. They are a great size for small to medium dogs but rather small for large dogs. I'm just afraid they are going to choke on them so far neither one of the dogs have. But the item is as described and there are plenty of them! I may find that these work well I am glad that they are smaller than the pig ears because too much of a good thing isn't always good. I would recommend them to a friend and to purchase them via Amazon.com.

Love Love Love this product. My dog was unsure at first but with the help of the instructions I was able to encourage him to figure it out. At first it took some time for our dog to learn how all the different parts work. She nosed the doors out slowly and tried to gnaw on the cones. When she found out she could pull on the strings it went a lot faster. The cones are still a little tough because you have to get the right angle but she eventually gets it. It's a great starter puzzle for smart dogs and keeps dinner fun.

I love Stella & Chewy's and have been feeding their Stella & Chewy's Freeze-Dried Raw Duck Duck Goose Dinner for Dogs, 16oz as well as their frozen raw and other flavors to my Shiba Inu puppy and she LOVES it! Ever since my vet recommended the brand for finicky eaters, I've been giving it to Monju (mixed with dry kibble).

Anyway, STELLA & CHEWY'S CARNIVORE KISSES SALMON (the Stella & Chewy's Carnivore Kisses, Freeze-Dried Raw Angus Beef Dog and Cat Treats are the same way) are of the same top quality as their meals. They're small, but not bite size (unless you have a big dog), freeze-dried pieces of salmon that's great for giving as treats. They have that strong fishy-scent that dogs love, so your furry child will be able to find them with no problem.

The reason I took off one-star is because the treats are hard to break apart. Since they're freeze-dried, when trying to break into smaller pieces the KISSES will splinter and shred, which makes it hard to give a small quick bite for a reward during training. Even if you were to break them apart before hand, the treats still shred so it's hard to get small bite sized pieces.

Also, if your pooch is able to get the whole treat in his/her mouth, it still has to be chewed, taking time away from focus, if you're using as a training aid. Other than that the treats are great.

My cat loves these things. She eschews her regular food and meows till I give her more salmon. I've tried other brands and she wants nothing to do with them. This is the only one that will do. On the other hand, I got the first tub of this because my friend's cats didn't like it, but they've liked the cast off brands my cat didn't want.

Our two puppies love chewing on things and get extremely excited when we get a new pack of these rawhides. (Truthfully they get excited about everything.) But these where the only rawhides we could find that where not produced in China. While I cannot prove the cattle in Brazil are treated any better then in any other part of the world, these chews tend to have a more uniform color and cleaner look then some of the generic brands.
