My 16 years old cat started to have bumps on his left leg. I took him to two different vets and both said the same thing, the only way to know the reason for the bumps was performing a biopsy. My cat is 16 so I refuse to get him through anesthesia and I did decide to do not do it. I began to give him this Omega 3 liquid and a month later my cat had no more bumps and he is doing pretty well since.

Nordic Naturals is a great brand of fish oil for humans and pets. I bought this product for my 2 young cats. A lot easier than opening up the gels. Used the enclosed dropper to dispense the correct amount into one of their meals of canned food and they loved it. Will continue to use this for their good health. My cat gets very itchy in the late spring/early summer, and she scratches & licks herself incessantly. All the licking leads to fur balls. This oil seems to help a little bit with the itching, and it also makes it easier for her to get the furballs up. We also give her a version of laxotone. We only give her this oil every other day, and she's very finicky about it, but we found that if we bring her to her bowl first, THEN put the oil in the center of the bowl, she will eat it. She won't eat it from her food bowl unless it's perfectly clean, and she won't eat it if we try to put it in her food.If you're having trouble getting yours to take it, maybe try giving it separately from food and in a new bowl. I know my cat doesn't like it when we combine scents.

So far I've found this product to be wonderful. I use it for both my cats and my dog. Even my picky eater cats don't mind when I put this on top of their wet food. I think it has really helped improve the coats of all the animals in my house, and I've also seen it have a positive effect on my two cats that have allergies. Omega 3s have been proven to have beneficial anti-inflammatory properties, and I can confirm that those properties from this fish oil have had positive impacts on all my animals, especially Ollie and Gypsy. Ollie is allergic to a lot of thing, including food allergies, skin and airborne allergies. While we control his food allergies with food, I've found that this fish oil has lessened the amount of skin and airborne allergy flare ups he has. I ran out of this product, and didn't reorder right away, and I could definitely tell a difference. Ollie is sensitive to most fish flavored cat food, even the limited ingredient types, but this fish oil does not cause him to have an allergic reaction, thank goodness.Gypsy is an older kitty with chronic problems with her mouth. The vet believes she may have stomatitis, and she's had to have quite a few teeth pulled, and sometimes a steroid shot to lower the gum inflammation in her mouth. While this oil doesn't cure her problem, it does prolong the time between her steroid shots, as it seems to naturally lower the amount of inflammation in her mouth.
As for the dog, she eats it no problem, and I believe I've seen a marked improvement in her chronically itchy, dry skin.
In general, you should supplement your pets diet with omega 3s, as it's good for even a average animal's health.
My only critique is I wish they would improve the bottle some how, because when you first start using the bottle it will spill out on the sides some, even if you are just gingerly trying to pull some out with the included dropper. This stuff is really smelly, so I would prefer not to get it on my hands. After a couple doses, this isn't' a problem, so I still recommend this product highly.
