I know, I know... Beagles are sometimes called "..a nose attached to a stomach," since they always seem to be hungry, and seemingly will eat just about anything their nose finds appealing. But my beagle, Tiera, knows where the Grammy's sausages are kept, and when we take one out of the box she starts dancing with joy. She absolutely loves the things! My only comment is about the packaging... each sausage is individually sealed in a plastic wrapper, and I haven't figured out an easy way to open them without using scissors to cut around the sausage inside the wrapper. But that's not a complaint about the product, which I recommend highly if your dog likes it. The ingredients are good and nutritious, and a dancing beagle can't be wrong!

He gets one every night to take his pills. He eats them up so fast he doesn't his pills are in there. He loves the flavors and we love the brand. They are easy on his stomach too. My only complaint is that sometimes they are hard and not fresh. The ones we buy on the shelves at PetCo are always very soft and chewy.

Woofstick Dog Exercise and Training Toy/Tool

I first heard about the Woofstick at the APDT Conference for dog trainers, where I was able to see it demonstrated with a number of dogs. Most of them were crazy about it! As a credentialed trainer of dogs and people, I love products that engage dogs and their owners together in a fun way. It's a great choice for busy people, people with physical limitations, and/or people with high-energy dogs.

In addition to being a great way to exercise a dog quickly, the Woofstick is a useful training tool in a number of ways:

1. It allows the dog to release a lot of energy before a training session, resulting in better focus during training. This is a win-win for the dog and the owner. Releasing energy may also be a necessary component in addressing certain undesirable behaviors, such as chewing or digging.

2. Chasing the toy provides valuable mental as well as physical exercise. Often, high-energy dogs are the same (smart) ones that need frequent mental challenges in order to avoid boredom and trouble!

3. It can be used purposefully to teach impulse control, a skill which is SO important and often overlooked in dog training, especially with young dogs and certain breeds. I have my clients teach "Wait" and the release, e.g. "OK!" with the Woofstick. We start by asking the dog to "wait" for just a few seconds before he's released to chase the toy; then we gradually work up to longer periods of time. This also promotes focus on the owner and provides a context for the owner to establish their leadership in a fun and humane way.

It can also be used to teach "Drop It," "Leave It," etc.

I have even used it to teach "Touch" where the dog must target/touch the toy with his nose before we play.

4. The Woofstick is great for owners who have been frustrated with their dog's behavior. Part of good dog training is establishing (or re-establishing) a positive relationship between dog and owner.

5. Playing with the Woofstick can also be used as a reward, either during or after training. I've worked with dogs who couldn't care less about food rewards, but would work their tail off for a romp with a favorite toy!

Here are a few tips I've learned as a result of using the Woofstick:

Introduce the Woofstick to your dog by letting him sniff it; then move the toy along the ground (not in the air) so he won't be fearful of the rod.

Consider your dog's age, health, breed, etc. when using the Woofstick. Ask your vet. For example, growing pups shouldn't be jumping around on hard surfaces.

Stop the game periodically and let the dog rest (stopping the game on your call is another great training exercise!). If your dog is so focused on the toy that he can't hear you, it's time to push the pause button.

Allow the dog to catch the toy from time to time. Frustrated prey drive is bad for a dog, which is why veterinarians advise against the use of laser pointers with dogs.

Read the instructions about what to do if your dog grabs the toy and runs (which adolescent dogs WILL do because it's just so darn fun to play the "come catch me" game!). Point the stick at the ground in front of the dog so it doesn't bend.

This is a great looking jar that immediately appealed to me on-line. I bought the set to store the different types of treats we give our dogs.

Unfortunately, the plastic is brittle. With the large jar, multiple cracks appeared around the edge the first time I pulled the mechanism to close the lid. It still works, it just isn't as attractive. Also, from a function perspective, the design is a little off kilter. When the treats get low or the jar gets empty, it has a tendency to tip over, especially if the lid is left open.

Usually I am a big fan of the Petmate brand and purchased numerous items over the years from feeders and waterers to bowls and storage bins. These jars were my first disappointing Petmate purchase. They are not a complete failure, but close enough to just get a two star rating from this user.

I ordered a few of these in different sizes and love how they say different things such as "Sit" "Stay" and "Play" the look is upscale and modern but at a fraction of the cost of heavy glass canisters you would find in boutique shops on line and off. For us they're perfect for storing our dogs treats and cookies.

Most of which are stored away in the pantry and go stale quickly these are air tight and although the closure system could be more solid and sound at these prices why complain?

These are functional, practical and great looking. Plus they're incredibly afforable. In addition if you're a Prime member you get second day shipping for free making thos deal that much sweeter. Each one comes sealed in plastic wrap and wipe up easliy with a damp cloth. Although there are no care instructions included because the plastic is quite thin I would suggest not running these through the dishwasher.

Everyone will think they're glass, whimsical and have a functional elegance to them and they do. They're a great buy as long as you're clear about what to expect.

I've had an Amazon "Subscribe & Save" subscription for the Smokey Bacon flavor of this brand for over a year and my dogs love them. So I figured they might love these too... I was right!! As with the bacon flavor, if you want a treat that will last a while, this is definitely not it! It takes less than a minute for my dogs to make one of them history.

Just FYI: I've ordered this item twice and both times I received "Better Than Ears Plus Hip & Joint" (which contains glucosamine and condroitin). That's fine with me, but it's not listed in the description so I thought I would mention it for those who may have concerns about supplements.

And just in case you're confused by the 1.95 pound specification, it translates into 36 "ears" per package. I just wish Amazon would make this item available through Subscribe & Save like the bacon flavor!!

read the ingredients they basically have anti-freeze in them, and well I can't feed them even though the dogs love them. I have a dalmatian who has developed stones since I got these and now they are no longer allowed in the house. Take that crap out and I am back to get them.

For under $12 at the time this review was published, 36 of these quality, ear-shaped treats is an awesome value especially because one of my dogs is obsessed with them!

SIZE

They are about the size a a small pig ear, so maybe about 4" by 2.5"; or maybe smaller. (I don't have any to measure at the moment, so I'll update.) The size means they aren't really very good for larger dogs with powerful chewing needs. They'd swallow them after two chomps. But my dachshunds are just the right size to spend a satisfying 5 or so minutes working on these. They're like Doggie Candy Bars.

PROS

Yes, they do get devoured much, much faster than an actual ear chew. That would be a strike, except my older doxie loves these so darn much, plus they are easier for older chewers, digestible, have no offensive odors or creepy factor, and include some helpful supplements. And the peanut butter ones have a delicious peanut buttery scent, with a slight taffy texture that makes me a tad wistful for a human version!

THE BETTER THAN EAR GOURMAND

The Queen of our doxies is the most fixated on these Better Than Ears. She will crawl up on my chest and gets in my face, whining a certain whine and pawing at me, which we've now happily figured out means: "Please may I have my treat now!?" They have plenty of other, popular, longer lasting chews, but the lady craves these. She gets one a day, ideally, but the sneak will often beg each member of the family, innocently implying she hasn't had her "peanut butter" yet!

VALUE AND ALL-AROUND WINNER

The value of these beloved, high-quality treats is really amazing, with a whopping 36 treats per large bag for under $12 as of this review, AND I get them with precious PRIME! My two small Terriers (Westie and Cairn) are fairly new to grain-free eating (about 6 months now) but are already showing the benefit of better nutrition in their skin, teeth, coats, energy level and digestion.

Along with Taste of the Wild Dry Dog Food, Hi Prairie Canine Formula with Roasted Bison & Venison, 15-Pound Bag variety grain free kibble, my dogs really love these Blue Buffalo Wilderness Trail Treats duck biscuits! We also buy the turkey and salmon varieties on occasion, but the duck biscuits seem to be their favorite flavor. They are easier for small dogs to chew and easier for me to break in half. The duck biscuit texture is lighter/crumblier than the turkey ones: maybe an issue if you're actually packing them on the trail, but at home no problem!

Might I add that removing the grains and junk additives from my dogs' diet has made yard clean up a lot easier? Good deal!

I do wish the price was a bit more reasonable and that I could subscribe for regular delivery. Price might drive me to source locally which I would hate!

Although I'm not a fan of BLue's food, I really liked the treats. My dogs eat raw so it's hard to find a decent treat that isn't filled with sugar, salt or grain. These aren't and the dog love them. I do think that they are kinda pricy though and I would like to see them come in a bigger bag size, but overall I'm very happy.

The description is quite misleading. But I suspected something was funny because the price was too low for 30 of them and ordered it anyway. It is a nice stick, but with the shipping it cost me about twice what it would at the local WIlco. But STICKS is wrong and the description should be corrected. If you go to dog.com you can get a case of about fifty for 100 dollars, which works out to be MUCH cheaper.

UPDATE: They changed the price now, so perhaps you will get 30. I got one for 12 dollars plus shipping at the time of the review. If you did want to buy a case, the one stick I got was very thick and good quality.

Bravo makes the best bully sticks. The are natural, not straightened to get 3 x 12 like the others. It takes my Goldens 4 times as long to finish as a normal one.if price is an issue you can cut these in half and your dog will still get more enjoyment that the regular 6 inch one.

This part is very important. They do not smell when your dogs are eating them. The normal ones that everybody else makes all smell like urine while your dog is eating it.

Very much in this case (no pun intended) you get what you pay for. I have been giving my dogs Dingo Ringo years because that go thru the USDA and too much stuff comes out of China that kills dogs. But I just read an article on how they get the raw hide white. They use lots of peroxide.

So now this is what they will get. No stinky smell and they get 4 times the enjoyment and it is way better for them. All of it digests where the rawhide stays in the body a few weeks. Now I do not have to limit giving it to them just cut back on food.

By the way in terms of cost. A 12 inch at the per store is 11.99 so this is way better pricing, even if it is twice the cost of the stretched and stinky ones.

They are a good size I cut them up with a knife, even though I have Great Danes they only need tiny treat to be rewarded especially during training. They smell great, are not greasy or crumbly, and the Danes were very excited about them.

Unfortunately I purchased these for an allergic dog that is on a rabbit based diet only. Thought the ingredients would be ok for her but not so she broke out in hives on her head within a half hour of having a few.

So I thought ok these go to the other Dane that isnt allergic to much of anything. He was happy about that but about an hour later we were definitely NOT since he had the most atrocious gas ever. This lasted most of the day.

Not sure what in the ingredients caused the negative reactions in both dogs but I gave the remainder of the bag away to a friend & wont purchase again. Too bad because I love most Zukes products.

I only feed my dogs grain free products. They (all 6 of them) love these and they are just the right size not big enough to worry about adding extra weight to the elderly ones, but big enough for them to feel like they really got a treat. Would recommend these to anyone.

Having Jack Russells, I prefer treats on the small side for size but still substantial enough to be considered "a bribe". These are perfect! Mine are bone-shaped, about 1 1/4" long and 1/2" wide and a dry biscuit. I was looking for a substitute for a different joint treat that was causing some stomach upset and consequent "spit up" issues. So far so good on these, the dogs like them and I'm happy that I can find an alternative yet still tasty way to give them something to relieve joint pain.
