It would seem that my dog was not the brightest puppy in her litter. This toy should have come with a complimentary dunce cap for those sad little doggies who fail this test. I bought 3 different Kygen puzzle toys, placed the most enticing goodies inside, and my dog just stared at me. I'm sorry to say that I wasted my money on these toys. They did serve to confirm what I already suspected my little girl is a dumb blonde.

That said, the problem is most likely my dogs deficiency in brain cells. The toy itself is nice. I would play with it if I were a dog, but I'm not...

Pros:

* Good to keep your dog from getting bored when you are away.

* It has lasted a while and seems well built. It hasn't been damaged in any way since the time we got it.

* Kept our dog very engaged for 10-15 minutes the first time we gave it to her.

Cons:

* Not as challenging as expected.

* Our dog figured this out within 2-3 times of using it, and now gets to the treats within a few minutes. However, it still keeps her engaged as long as the treats are in it.

My puppy didn't understand it at first glance so I let her watch me insert the treats and with a little encouragement she figured it out from there. She figured it out in under 3 minutes. Wish she would have took a little longer but that's okay because even though she figured it out fast she still loves playing with it and getting her treat rewards. My Sheltie never tires of playing with this puzzle. Of course, finding his treats is always a fun pastime for him, but he seems to enjoy finding new ways to open the puzzle. It didn't take him long to figure it out, initially, but he still gets excited when I put treats in it for him. Interestingly, he has not tried to chew the puzzle pieces (he could easily break them), and he does not pull the puzzle completely apart. He just opens it enough to get his treats out. We have noticed that he does not break or chew up the toys he really likes, so I can say with confidence that this is a favorite.

Although these are pricing and not available in the local pet stores, they are worth a try if you have a fussy dog when it comes to taking their meds. It a great alternative to pill pockets, change of pace so to speak when you have gone through, canned dog food, forcing the med, peanut butter etc.

Flavor-doh is the most amazing product I have ever used! I learned about it through my vet. I was having a terrible time getting my pomeranian to take his meds. This is simply amazing! I use the handle of a spoon, scoop out a small portion and simply roll it in my hands with the meds. The meds end up rolled in a neat little ball! He absolutely loves taking his meds now! I was thrilled to find I could order this online,which is much less of a hassle and less expensive too! He loves the chicken. My vet ran out of it and I tried beef, no go. I have used this for several years. I used to dread pill time, now he looks forward to it! He actually sits by the kitchen island every morning waiting for his "treat"!!!!! My dog loved it, but it is a very small amount in the jar. If your dog doesn't take many pills, that would be OK. My dog takes Rx and supplements 3 times a day. That adds up to be a lot of treating going on. Have switched to crunchy peanut butter.

I have been using this product successfully for about a year. This particular order was defective. Dough was very thin (watery). It will not form a cover for pills and it sticks to my hand.

These are a little expensive, but I like being able to give them to our puppy when we are going out and I need her to keep busy at home for awhile while we are gone. She enjoys chewing on them and they are always completely gone when we get back.

I have mixed feelings on these. On the one hand my puppy is obsessed with them so the obviously taste great and if she doesn't break the ring they last quite a while. On he other hand, once she breaks the ring she scarfes the thing down like she hasn't eaten in weeks and I have to watch her closely to take away the last couple inches cause it gets really gummy and gets stuck in her teeth and she can't get it out. It also gets really slimy and gummy and makes a mess.

My 4 month old lab ate this up in 10 minutes, so the ring did not last long at all. Unfortunately, it gave him terrible diarrhea for the next day. He does have a sensitive stomach, so maybe this is better suited for those dogs with hardiar stomachs and less powerful jaws. I do not recommend this product.

I have a teething puppy,and have tried these in both pumpkin & chicken flavors. He loves them both, and they keep him occupied for at least 15-20 minutes. Way better than giving him a rawhide, which I refuse to do.

My 3 month old chocolate lab loves these! We also ordered these in chicken and she likes those as well. She really enjoys the pumpkin, probably because everything else she has is chicken and this is just something different for her. I can't believe how much my puppy goes crazy over these treats! She can't get enough of them! Be careful about where you let your puppy eat these at, because they could be a bit messy--they're really soft and when they get wet from your puppy's mouth, the combination is a sticky mess! When we are just too tired to run around with our little bundle of energy anymore, we give him one of these. We give him about one per day, so we choose the moment wisely! The result is an extremely happy dog for about 20 minutes. It is a little bit gross to keep pulling the chewed up treat out of the puppy Kong so he can keep going at it after he's finished the end that was sticking out of his puppy Kong, but worth the effort. (This is by far the least disgusting thing I've touched that he's chewed!) Puppies *need* to chew and chew and chew, and this treat is just the right size to provide an excellent alternative to trouble-making. A MUST for a new puppy!

I have a pair of Siberian Huskies, one of which is very picky. She wolfs these down whenever they're offered. A couple people mark these treats down because of the irradiation which is quite foolish. I have a picky old golden retriever. Due to me spoiling him, he prefers people food to dog food. I am trying to reverse things and give him more dog food. I bought this to try putting on top of his dog food to get him interested in it. This treats are small squares and if squeezed will crumble easily. I take a few and crumble them on his food and he eats it instantly. So, I can back off on the people food and feel better he is eating dog food. They are also great for just an in between snack. I bought these a few times and one bag seems to last three weeks or so between handing out as treats and crumbling on food. I'll keep buying these as long as he keeps eating the dog food.

I've made these several times for my dogs. They really like them and I like them because they are very simple to make. Just a minute to mix the ingredients, then pour the batter into the mold and pop it into the microwave. Simple, and easy clean up. Keep in mind that this product consists of three refills and the box does not contain a mold for baking the batter. You need to buy the kit which contains the plastic mold (three bone shapes) first. This product definitely works, but for the price I paid you almost could have paid for a trip to the vet and some traditional antibiotics from a pet pharmacy. That being said, it helped clear up my cat's eye infection in less than a week (an infection that had been plaguing my poor animal for 2 months), and now I have a lot more for use in the future.

My Cat has been using this procuct on and off for about six months. He has rather serious respiratory problems including asthma, allergies and intermittent lung and sinus infections. He has a full medicine box of expensive meds. I am trying to move him to more natural, and hopefully less expensive, solutions and am trying a number of the Pet Alive products. Some may take longer to work so I am not reviewing them yet, but I do want to share how well this product has worked for him as I am back for my second bottle. When he gets any kind of infection the first sign is in his one eye which gets really nasty. As one reviewer said, he also scratches it until it bleeds. I tie a clean white sock on his foot to keep him from infecting it, but was afraid he would injure his eye. He was using alternately an antibiotic and an ointment. These tiny tubes are very expensive and he uses more than one for each episode. More importantly I worry about their long term effects, which is why I am so grateful for the help of "Eye Heal". During one episode his eye got full of blood and it just wouldn't clear which is when I started this product. It cleared his eye within a week or two. With a full episode I give him the maximum recommended, and in between just occasional use. I have been able to clear up some pretty bad episodes without the harsher meds since using it. I believe it is very gentle and should be safe to try, but I did tell my vet about using it. She had no concerns. One bottle has lasted quite long with this type of use.
