I started putting these in my puppy's Puppy Kong, and she LOVES them. I stick them in as far as they go, and she has to squash the KONG while she pulls it out, or it gets stuck and she has to nibble on the end and slowly pull it out. Sometimes these get stuck and you have to use something to poke it back out so the dog can get to it again.

I highly recommend these, as they are a great variation from the little KONG-shaped biscuits, and from dog kibble. Also, it seems like they must taste great, because when I put these in her KONG, my puppy will keep working on eating this treat (putting other things inside only catches her attention for a little while).

My yorkie Bella loves these! She prefers these to the smaller "honey comb" shaped biscuits Kong offers. When I stuff her kong with these she won't leave it alone until it's completely gone. I also like these better than the biscuits because it sticks out a little more and is a little easier for her to pull out than the shorter, curvier biscuits while still being entertaining. Definitely recommend.

I will say first off that my puppy loves these treats. He also loves the squeeze stuff you put in the kong. He will work on this one for a while but the problem is half the stick gets stuck inside the kong everytime. He can't get it out and eventually gives up. Then it takes me forever to try and get it out best thing I've found yet is a chop stick but even that is not easy. I'm not sure if I will buy more of these because they are such a pain for me. He likes the softer stuff you put in there and that's easier because he can get all that. They need a better way to get them out!

We got these at petsmart on sale this week and my Boxer puppy who is 10 weeks is in love with them. She is a chewer just like any puppy and normally loves to go after my husband and my hands. Since we got her this it has spared a lot of puppy play bites. After about an 30 to 60 minutes each time she is awake chewing on this she is not really interested in our hands and toes. I have a 2 yr old Lab and a 1 yr old mutt I adopted from the humane society. They both loved this bone, it was devoured within an hour. With that said however the bone was a little smaller then I had imagined. My Australian Shepherd and Border Collie love this bone. I just wish it lasted longer. The icky white bones lasted a little while, but this did not. It lasted a few hours, but that was fine because they would not let it out of their sight! A good distraction when you need one lol! They never stopped chewing this bone. I gave one of these to my dog and he is now undergoing major surgery to have many sharp fragments removed from his stomach and intestines, after which he could still die. There have been a number of severe illnesses and deaths from blockages and/or intestinal punctures with this type of cooked bone. Just go with Nylabone or Kong with peanut butter.

So, I have a beagle. She's a perfectly lovely little dog, but can be quite hyper at times. Ok, more than hyper, she can be crazy. Particularly when the rest of the family comes in in the afternoons. She jumps all over them, runs in circles around the house, and takes a good hour or so to return to non-frenzy state. Bought these for my 3 year old, 90lb chocolate lab (field breed, not english breed... aka the super crazy labs). Had to leave her unattended in a friend's house while we went out to a soccer game, and have used them SPARINGLY when we visit friends and she needs to be mellow for a few hours (despite walking her, playing fetch and dog parks, she will still jump around and get into everything).

When she eats them, she tends to be very mellow and more likely to nap than whine, bounce around, or otherwise get into everything. I would give this 5 stars, but I really dislike the idea of medicating a dog for its natural behavior/energy/curiosity on a regular basis. She is a lab they have a ton of energy naturally. Also beware the energy spike when these wear off. Your dog will want extra attention/exercise when these wear off.

But if you need a mellow dog in a pinch (leaving them unattended in a strange place, visiting dog-shy relatives or friends, these will work. Just follow the directions on the bag and don't give them too much.

For the last two months, we've shared our house with a now 17-month old Weimaraner rescue. Like all adolescent Weims, he is sneaky, stubborn, exuberant and...sensitive. Like many rescues, he is still working through the effects of what came in the three homes he lived with before ours, including three months in multiple dog foster homes. So. sometimes even after lots of exercise, patient training session and 24/7 tenderness, his edginess remains. These calming chews work very well for us.

When we give one of these after his evening meal, he becomes much less agitated. Our small 12 year old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix gets dog really excited every time we take the 3 hour trip to our vacation home. She starts stressing while we pack the car like she knows where we are going and she doesn't want to be left behind. We go about once a month and she pants almost the entire way, driving me crazy. This is one of four calming products from Pet Naturals with the same dosage ratio of key ingredients per ten pounds of pet weight: only the size of the soft chew varies in three and the fourth is a liquid. ALL WORK BEAUTIFULLY on our four pets and better than the compounded (& expensive) drug amytryptalline (sp?) prescribed by our vet. The liquid may have a convenience advantage, especially for pets whose weight falls in between the listed weight categories. The liquid is more expensive, however, and would have to sell for about $14 to equal the serving cost of the larger chews. Most economical is the product for medium-to-large dogs ($6-$7 for 21 chews) but requires slicing the chews into smaller bits (completely doable, by the way) for pets under about 40 pounds to get portion sizes to match the manufacturer's recommended dosage. I surmise that the manufacturer's recommendation is based on the worst-case scenario (sensitive pet and acute stressful situation). For less taxing situations/pets it would be entirely reasonable to begin with a milder dose (say half or even a fourth) and work up to an effective level. We have four 10-pound pets, two of which have aggression issues: one out of jealousy and the other defensiveness; the third is skittish and over-excitable; the fourth (the mom-cat) is generally cool but gets a little frayed by the others' behaviors. I slice the larger chews into about 20 bits and add a bit to each of the two protagonists' three daily meals. This gives me about 7 dosage-days per cat per chew rather than 4 days at the recommended level.

This smaller dosage regimen seems to work just fine for these behavior issues for these pets. I may try reducing the dosage even further after the two antagonists have achieved a noticeable attitude adjustment. The product does seem to work better on the jealous/aggressive pet better than on the defensive one. I had noticed this same phenomenon with my DIY herb mixtures (chamomile, peppermint, fennel, ginger, etc.). They seemed to have more effect on the pet with genetic/developmental aggression than on the one with learned/protectionist aggression. The Pet Naturals formula, however, works noticeably better on both pets than my homemade concoctions ever did (Well, just as good and it tastes worlds better, say the pets). ONE NEGATIVE: The liquid is 3.8 oz not 4 oz. as advertised. Small but unnecessary discrepancy. MORE POSITIVES: the pets LOVE the product; it is non-addictive; and (naturally!) natural. The only time it is not effective in calming the pets is after they get a good whiff of the stuff and before you can give it to them. During this interval, THEY GO ABSOLUTELY NUTS. And STAY NUTS until the aroma (and product) is out of range of their senses. IRONIC, huh!! According to the people at Pet Naturals the product has no dependency issues and the ingredients are completely "natural". The colostrum is the bovine variety and said to be hormone free. I did not ask (I did not WANT to know) how they harvested this natural colostrum. Also per Pet Naturals, the calming effect takes about 30 minutes to engage and lasts about 4-6 hours. Again, I suspect this is based on the more intense end of the stress/anxiety spectrum. In our case, the "bits" of reduced dosage last from meal to meal, which is at least 8 hours (and sometimes a little longer--I know, the pets think we are irresponsible too!). We have only had one bad fight since starting the regimen about two weeks ago and it was CAUSED BY the product!! (retraction later). We were comparing products with the pets in the same room (same bed!) and our jealous one got a whiff. She got very excited and persisted in pursuing the aroma thru the closed containers. This apparently broke the calming power of her meal "bits" and within a half hour she ambushed her favorite target sibling viciously (well, it sounded vicious). So WE were the CAUSE of this attack, NOT the Pet Naturals. Had we given our keen-sensed one another small "bit" (and put the stuff away quicker) she probably would have settled back down and resumed her repose. CUSTOMER SERVICE at Pet Naturals deserves accolades as well. I spoke to two reps there (one actually in sales) and both were just EXCELLENT; probably the best customer service experience I have had that I can remember (should I mention my memory loss problem?). They actually sounded like they were enjoying helping and they actually did with their knowledge of the product and with actual experience in using the product. For instance, they knew the "user satisfaction" level that the product designers shoot for: namely a minimum of 80% and that their products typically achieve a 90% user (pet) acceptance level. In our case, it is 100% (& possibly 110%). I am also testing the liquid formula as a flavor enhancer for appetite-challenged pets. So far the aroma of the calming liquid (and the "bits") is easily lost when mixed with food (even dry nibbles) or water or chilled. I generally feed our pets dry nibblers floating on about an ounce of water. One of our pets has renal failure and the accompanying diminished appetite. Adding the "bits" or liquid drops to her food does not seem to improve her appetite level. I would have expected a dramatic effect based on how appealing the products are to our pets if fed to them out of hand. I am not through with the "enhancer" experiments yet, so I may add to this review later if I have something new to report. I am also testing other calming alternatives, one in particular from VETS*BEST, and will compare the products when I write a review on this other brand. There are still other brands of calmers out there but, having found some that work for us (and at an affordable serving-cost), I do not plan to check these others out. So if anyone could extend the product comparisons by bringing in others they have used in side-by-side trials with Pet Naturals or Vets*Best it would be immensely helpful to future seekers of pet (and human) calm.

Currently it has about 3-times the amount (8 oz) of the package for medium-to-large dogs at about twice the price. I've been feeding my calico this since it first appeared in the supermarket; now it's the only thing she'll eat. No hair balls or vomiting when she's on it, unlike just about everything else we've tried.

Just like the human food manufacturers, the pet food industry is also all about the

bottom line and cheapest manufacturing.

While I can understand cost control, I can't understand the junk they are putting into our pets' foods.

Then again they don't mind chemical cocktails in our human foods, so guess this doesn't bother them!

I had given some thought to buying this food, at least for snacks, because it sounded like something

the cats would like. The commercials are certainly cute enough as well, and led me to at least look at the

product.

Well, I won't be buying it at all.

For those who are not aware, cats are carnivores. That means they mainly eat meats.

This does NOT include fish even, and it is a common misconception that all cats adore fish.

Not true (as any cat owner can tell you), and fish are also something that should be limited.

Cats need ZERO grain in their diets. They do not stalk the farmers' fields, pouncing on that low ear of corn

or stalk of wheat! They do not require it and it can cause health problems ranging from allergies to hot spots

on their skin, to diabetes due to blood sugar issues with the high carb grains.

Here are the ingredients for this product note they aren't listed here I had to go to the manufacturer's site

and look them up. Note how LOADED with grain this product is it might be okay for feeding a stray or some feral

cats who will supplement their own diets with mice, but for the average indoor house cat, it would be a mess.

Also note the addition of not one, but FOUR named food dyes, many of which are already known to cause health problems

in people why put it in our pet foods?! They don't really care about the color. There are lots of grain, multiple

meals (soybean hulls? really? cats don't need soy either),and yuck, with a few vitamins tossed in to

meet the minimum standards. It's like they use all the discards from every other food process to make our pets' foods.

I gave these a try with finicky, picky Emmy, only because everything else--Pounce, Friskies, the gourmet little cans--had pretty much failed. (I have no idea what she lives on, because she's determined to show me she's above eating anything I offer her.) Much to my amazement, she's crazy about these Greenies' treats and would easily consume an entire package, even in my presence, if I let her. She's making me feel a little bit like her "dealer," and now that we're momentarily out of her drug of choice, I'm feeling a bit guilty, as though it's my fault she's going through cold turkey withdrawal. I've opened 4 of the 8 packages of Greenies, one was rancid. My cat started vomiting after eating the Salmon Greenies. I compared them with another package only to find that they had yellow-orange spots instead of being entirely green. I smelled them and they smelled different too. Normally Greenies are great treats for my cats but rancid products are not acceptable. EntirelyPets and other suppliers have to be aware of the age of the product they are selling according to when they buy it from

Greenies. I could not find an expiration date on the packages. Greenies is manufactured by S&M Nutec and they should be providing expiration dates.

I wanted to point out that these treats are different from the dog Greenies. Dog Greenies are chewy, cat Greenies are crunchy, like dry cat food. Because of this I don't know if they actually work (if they're the same texture what makes them different from cat food?) but I don't think they're dangerous, as a previous reviewer said. Canine Greenies have caused health problems, but from what I understand it is because the dog didn't chew it well (like most dogs) and because of the softer texture it swelled in the dogs stomach.

My cats love the salmon flavor, the package recommends six pieces three times a day, not to exceed 18 pieces a day. I give my cats about six a day, all at once. They don't always chew them though, which is the only problem I've had with the product, swallowing them whole doesn't bother my cats at all though. I have one cat, Garfield, who is very picky, but he loves these treats. So I think its probably safe to say that these shouldn't cause health problems like the canine Greenies can and also that your cat will really like them!

Thanks to another reviewer, I learned today that Greenies contain a synthetic, controversial ingredient, menadione sodium bisulfite (MSB), that is highly questionable and considered by many experts to be toxic. I will no longer take that chance with my pet just because the FDA hasn't gotten around to banning it. Based upon the information I have read about it, the only apparent reason to add MSB to pet food is to claim it as a nutritious ingredient, namely, the k-vitamins that come from green plants. In other words, the basis of "Greenies" is a cheap synthetic version of the real thing. That must be why the ingredient label describes the stuff as "source of vitamin k activity."

Furthermore, although my 3 year-old cat has been eating between 6-12 Greenies every day, he is currently in need of advanced dental work. I see no evidence that these so-called dental treats are effective and they may very well be harmful.

We received a free sample of Feline Greenies in the mail today from PETCO. Our 13 indoor cats gobbled the entire 1-oz. package in less than 10 minutes. Even our finicky eaters loved them. We are very careful pet owners, double-checking every ingredient in anything that they eat (in the same way that we watch our own food). Unfortunately, I fed first and checked later (something that I have NEVER done before and will never do again)!

Imagine my dismay when I found menadione sodium bisulfite in this product. This toxic, unapproved ingredient has no business in our pet food. Its use is prohibited in many European countries, and our own FDA won't approve it.

We have requested that PETCO discontinue the sale of this product immediately, until the manufacturer removes this poison.

If you love your cats, you will not feed this product to them. Just do a web search for "menadione sodium bisulfite (MSB)". You'll be a better cat owner, that's for sure . . .

My dogs are 50 & 30 lbs and they both love these. I got the biggest bones I could find for them because they go through them so fast. These are working out great. They last long and don't constantly break off into large pieces. They will get pieces off and I have to throw them out so they don't choke on them, but it's not that often like other ones I've tried. These are made in China if you're concerned about that, but I haven't been able to find a pressed rawhide that's made in the USA. At the time, I bought these for $45 and I thought it was a good price.

my dogs love these & i love how clean they keep their teeth by chewing them. i only give when i can watch them however as sometimes big peices come off that could bind up in their stomach if swallowed. my vet just checked both my dogs teethe at their yearly exam & said neither dog (5yr & 9 yr) needed to have their teeth cleaned!!! i like the biggest ones for my collies so they have to "work at them" for a long time; and not just chew them up & swallow in a day.

I have been having a hard time finding sturdy rawhide bones in stores and was excited to find these with such great reviews. However, I have been very disappointed with the purchase and will look elsewhere for my next shipment. These bones are far from pressed as my 10 month old puppy has to be watched like a hawk as she rips off large pieces. Several of the bones I have had to rip off the entire top covering as it pulls off in one loose piece. I must have received the leftover bones as I was surprised to see everyone was so pleased with their shipment.

These are good bones, but I think they're for Great Danes! My Vizsla worked on one for two weeks before finishing it off! He had a hard time getting into the thing. I'll have to say, they're cost effective.

We have the medium version of this toy and it honestly is the best toy we've had for our two Brittany spaniels. The best thing about this , is you can actually clean it inside out! Hooray! It has a slit all the way around the inner side which allows you to stick treats or peanut butter inside and also let's you clean it. So many treat dispensing toys get mucky inside and there's nothing you can do., especially if it is left outside and gets rain or even a slug in it. I don't know how big this one is, but the medium size is perfect for our medium sized dogs.

This is absolutely the best chicken jerky for dogs I have ever come across. My dog isn't very food motivated out in the world so finding a food lure he will actually respond to during training sessions can be difficult. He doesn't care about most treats, has even turned his nose up at other jerkies, he simply isn't very motivated by food. It's unfortunate Dog Gone Jerky isn't easier to find. Human grade chicken, no bi-products, no fillers, USDA certified, made in Tennessee. I bought a 16oz bag of it when visiting family in Tennessee after my vet told me about the health complications jerky sourced from China had come to be associated with. When I began to read labels I was shocked to realize most chicken jerky for dogs did indeed come to from China. I was skeptical as to whether it would be worth the money, it's soooo expensive, but it was given how much it influenced my dog's motivation during training. The guy working at the store where I bought it said he had actually tried it before giving it to his dog. I believe it. It smells like what it is chicken. The bag lasted a couple of months. Debating where to get it from now. Might go directly through the company that makes it, which is what Amazon should do.

according to my cairns they love the flavor and scent and the peice size is good but I personally think they should be a bit thicker they are pricey but my cairns like them.
