We have been buying Dentahex chews for over 3 years. This last batch came in new packaging and "Buddy" walks away from them. He used to gobble them down.

I also noted that they contain "formaldehyde" which I had not previously noticed. I am planning on sending back the other 2 bags.

I have 3 Labs. All are power chewers. I also had the 1st bone damaged by the dogs nicking the area where the treat insert goes, and then continued chewing... But I have found that if I cut the sticks int 1/2" pieces, I can still push them in with the cut side down and make them stick. The dogs don't need the whole stick at once to keep them entertained. I can make one stck last several hours this way, because they still keep chewing even if the little piece is gone, because there are still remnents of it stuck in the bone. This is a GREAT toy if you need to keep your dog occupied.

My lab LOVED this toy...begs to have treats put in it. The first time, it took her about an hour to get all the treat out but after that, it was difficult to put another treat into it. The edges become nicked and deformed so the new treats don't fit properly. She still begs for it, but the treats only last about five minutes now because I can't get them the whole way in!

I have tried a ton of chew toys/treat holders and my dog either demolishes them immediately or shows no interest. It takes him about 30 minutes to get the treat out of this holder which is much longer than with most other products. The treat holder has held up, he has not managed to destroy it yetit does have some nicks in it, but it still can hold the treats so I give it and A+. My dog absolutely loves the treats and he likes the empty holder as a toy well.

I purchased this toy for a dog who smart and a strong chewer. He especially loves toys that he can has to figure out and can chew. Unfortunately, the dog chew is incredibly easy for him to get out making it no challenge at all. The chew itself is too big for him (a medium-sized dog) and too hard. It's frustrating because the toy wasn't cheap. It seems most chews are either far too hard or soft. It's very difficult to find anything just right.

The toy seemed like a good idea, but it's simply not executed well enough to be useful.

Milk Bone Chewy Treats or Soft Chews are the best treats for my Yorkie, she's less then 5lbs and these treats are easy to break into small bites. The filet Mignon and the Beef are hard to find in the local stores and I can't figure out why. I've ordered on line and had good results but the cost for shipping makes it kind of high.. Okay so I keep hearing my siamese mix needs to lose a lb. It has been over a year and we have only gotten 1/4 lb. off his beautiful fat frame. My other four cats do not have a problem eating the same food, exercising the same amount and all are healthy. So naturally I am a bit embarrassed and perplexed to have a fat cat!

I now load up 3 Slimcat balls in the morning instead of free feeding kibble. They get dehydrated raw cat food for dinner (healthy) and for a snack after dinner and if anyone gets the late nite bunchies, instead of snacking on our toes in bed, they can just to roll a ball around and be exercising at the same time. Our fat cat was throwing up food as soon as he ate the kibble before we introduced the Slimcat. See, when you free feed a cat who is always ravenous, they will waste your money because they eat too fast!!!

And so, no doubt we have made up for the cost of the balls with our cats eating less kibble and not throwing it up as much ;)

Purchase one in every color and give them to your friends!!! I also load one with catnip every now and then and leave the ball on the smallest opening. Cats like eating catnip! I put wheatgrass in there too and they eat that along with the catnip. And if you are feeling naughty, you can fill two Slimcats and load another with 1/2 of a load and leave the holes closed that way your cat will hunt awhile before realizing they are not going to get the food out of it. Please don't think I am a bad Mom! Kids watch tv, my kitties get a closed Slimcat every now. It keeps them busy and active. Whatever works! Slimcat does!
