Canine Caviar Chicken & Pearl Millet All Life Stages Dinner
I live in Central PA, and have had dogs for over 20 years. I tried this food at the request of our groomer and my 2 cocker spaniels love it. This food is in small nuggets, so it is easy to chew. I like the fact too that it is Hollistic, and has glucosamine in it for their joints.
In 6 weeks of daily us, my dogs just thrived. Their coats started to shine, their eyes looked brighter, and they seemed more active. Their stool quantity was also down, which to me is an indication that more food and nutrients are in the dogs, rather than useless fillers that come out the other end.
October 2011 saw the addition of a third cocker (our second rescue.) Our new cocker arrived from rescue with dull, lackluster fur and a large portion of her belly skin that was not as pink as it should be.
She too started to show great improvement on this food, although it took a good 3 months to start to see results.
I would recommend this food to anyone, but a word of caution. Talk to people who really know about this food to be sure you pick the right flavor. The company does put out a small 1/2 pound or so sample bag, so buy it if you can. Sample bag comes with a $3 coupoon on purchase of full size bag.
When our groomer ran out of the chicken flavor that we always buy, we tried some special needs food. For our dogs, they did not like it. Instead of staying and eating, my dogs picked at the special needs food, and left half of it on the floor next to their dishes.
Had to wait till we could get the chicken flavor once again for the dogs to return to regular habits. Understand, there was nothing wrong with the special needs food, but my dogs just did not like it.
Yes, this dog food is a bit pricey, but it is worth it. When you consider many store dog food is laced with filler, and you need to buy food more frequently, plus the extra yard detail well the extra price was well worth it.
