I have tried both plain and pumpkin pie. My dogs know the difference and go for the pumpkin pie every time ( they get to choose their cookies from the cookie jar). my Beagle will sniff and sniff and stir the big can of cookies around until he can find the pumpkin pie among the other cookies, he grabs it and runs off so excited to have his PP cookie :D If only humans were as easy to please.

As a veterinarian, I love Cloud Star products for several reasons. First of all, I love how they commit 10% of their net profits to non-profit organizations (which benefit not only four-legged pets, but also women, children, and the environment). Secondly, all their products are made in the USA, which is really important. With the recent FDA voluntary recalls on treats from China (e.g., chicken jerky treats, sweet potato treats, etc.), I never advocate that my clients feed treats, food, etc. from China. With Cloud Star products, I fully understand all the ingredients. Lastly, my dog loves them: both the wet variety and the dried. Great for filling Kong products to entertain him while I'm away.

With the "Wag More, Bark Less" biscuits (what an amazing logo, right?), the pumpkin pie recipe ingredients include: barley flour, oatmeal, rice bran, pea starch, pumpkin, whole oats, millet flour, chickpea flour, sunflower oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols, generally to prevent spoiling), cinnamon, cloves, and natural vanilla flavor.

With the chicken pot pie recipe: the ingredients include chicken, barley flour, oatmal, rice bran, pea starch, whole oats, millet flour, chickpea flour, sunflower oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), carrots, and natural chicken flavor. WOO HOO! Meat as the first ingredient! My dog loved this one for sure!

Personally, I will state that the majority of dogs don't care if a product is wheat free (as labeled on the box). Unless your dog is wheat intolerant (which honestly is pretty rare, despite what people think), this isn't a huge selling point for me.

I'm NOT an advocate of making cats vegetarian (they are carnivores). Dogs are omnivores and generally prefer a meat-based diet (e.g., the first ingredient in your dog food should ideally be meat). However, if you're looking for a good vegetarian biscuit, the pumpkin pie one is fine. Keep in mind that just because it has pumpkin doesn't mean it has much fiber in this one however: only a max of 5%.

As a vet, I prefer a biscuit with meat as a first ingredient... it's taster, and fits their omnivore desires a bit more. Regardless, my dog wolfed down both with equal success!
