I have a 9-year old Corgi who has been on this product for about a year now. Without it, she is a bit gimpy in the rear end. With it, she gets around with enthusiasm. The price at Amazon is better than I can find anywhere else and I highly recommend this for senior dogs, gimpy or not.

My 9 yr old australian blew out her right rear knee and was limping and sore for several months. the vet said it would heal some within about 4 months but we didn't see any real change until we started her on these about 6 months after her injury. After about 3 months on these I realized she wasn't limping any more and was doing most things she had before she got hurt. She still can't run full speed without it catching but before, she struggled just getting up. Note: that these say not to give them to diabetic dogs.

My "All American' has Athritis and can't handle the cold. Living in Florida, thats perfectly fine, until winter time, so these really help him live up to his ususal terrorist ways all year round.

I have two elderly dogs (both over the age of 13) that have joint and hip issues. In an effort to alleviate the stiffness, I turned to glucosamine. I tried several brands of tablets and none have met my dogs' approval. When I feed my dogs, these tabs sit at the bottom of their dish. If I have any hope of them being consumed, I have to use a pill cutter or knife to break them in halves and quarters and then I have to cover them with canned dog food. What's more, my dogs need more than 500 mg of glucosamine so doing this several times a day was a tad much. I've since started to use For Animals-K-9 Level 5000 Glucosamine 32 oz Liquid. I place the liquid on top of their food and they don't appear to notice, or at least, have not engaged in any hunger strikes because of its presence.

According to the Nutri Vet Hip and Joint Plus container, 1/2 chew is recommended per 40 lbs. of body weight. If you decide to follow the guidelines, prepare to get out the pill cutters. These tablets are a decent size but not easily snapped in half without the use of a supplemental cutting aide. Each tab has 500 mg of glucosamine, which is from a shellfish source. Two-hundred mg of chondroitin sulfate is also provided, which hails from a bovine source.

This product has received good reviews and, to be fair, my dogs are older and have poor teeth. This might have played a role in their distaste for the product, which is a little denser than other glucosamine tabs on the market.

According to the product labeling, this product may be used with pregnant dogs. This product should not be given to dogs with an allergy to shellfish.

This product is made in the United States.

I will refrain from using the words "Miracle Drug", but I WILL say that just days after starting these pills, I saw a marked difference in my eight-year-old Golden Retriever. And he is only taking half the recommended dosage!

I had been noticing my dog experiencing quite a bit of stiffness whenever he woke from his frequent naps. I know that eight is getting up there for a large breed, but he seemed too decrepit, too soon. These chewables have put more of a spring in his step, and he actually JUMPS up when I say the O-U-T word. We were playing fetch yesterday, and he stood up on his back legs. I don't remember the last time he did that.

He seems to love the flavor and views taking this pill as a treat. However, I can see that dogs with bad teeth would have trouble getting these down.

***June 17, 2013***I need to add an addendum to this review. I think this product may have given my dog a urinary tract stone, so I am discontinuing its usage. Everything I said earlier in the review holds true; it does do what it promises. HOWEVER, USE WITH CAUTION and discuss any concerns you have with your veterinarian.
