I made the mistake of buying some of this many months ago at the local pet store when it was on sale. Prior to that fateful day when I first gave this to my cat, he was quite happy with IAM's, a much less expensive brand. After one day of eating Pro Plan salmon and rice, he wouldn't touch IAM's anymore. Nor will he touch any of the other four brands I have tried to switch him to since (including one that claimed to be "irresistible to cats"). All he wants is Pro Plan. Oh well, I guess he's worth it.

Did not buy this for my own use. Purrfect Pals pet shelter near Seattle, WA had this on their Amazon Wish List for their cats. They were running low on food so we sent this. They say the cats and kittens there do very well on this formula.So, remember the charities when you are shopping on Amazon! Our two cats (and two dogs) have generally had only Pro Plan brand foods, and all have loved them. Our first cat (sadly now passed) never ate anything but Pro Plan and was always healthy. Our second, only a year, is loving both Pro Plan dry and canned foods. My two cats have always been fed a dry food diet, but to make sure they stayed healthy, I chose a dry food without a lot of fillers like meal and meal products. Pro Plan has many varieties, and all contain high quality protein from chicken, lamb, salmon, and also contain vegetables and whole grains. It's easy to digest, but best of all, they love it !
