This is one of very few dog foods at my local Walmart that lists beef as the first ingredient. Most of the others are made primarily from corn meal. I'm no dog food expert, but I would think that's a definite plus. It is not the cheapest food you can buy, but the price is on the low end, especially when compared to small bags of premium brand dog food. The bits are well-sized for small breeds and my 10 pound dog has no trouble at all.

I fed Purina One to my Beautiful cocker spaniel her whole life. That is all she ate No table scraps except for an occasional hot dog at barbecues. My vet told me that "whatever I was feeding her to keep feeding her" her weight and health was perfect. Her only health issue was the dreaded cocker spaniel ears.

I now have a new 14 lbs Shorkie. He eats Purina One as his only food...He was a rescue dog and at three years old had some digestive issues. He doesn't have anymore problems after I started him on this food.I wouldn't think of feeding him anything else.

My dog loves this but the kibble size is tooooo small. Would be perfect for dogs under 35lb in my opinion. But I still use it as supplement to my dog's main kibbles Blue and Nutro Max. It seems that the kibbles have real dried beef mixed in it. I haven't seen other kibbles have such lookingly real ingredients. Not sure about the product quality but will keep an eye on it.
