I have been using this product for about 2 months now on my 3 cats (14-11-6)and have noticed a difference in my cats fur, gone is the barrel body in one cat and yes the hairballs are almost history and they gobble it up

When a cats or dogs diet is changed, you cant just go ahead and pile this new food on them. It is a transition so it must be mixed with their old kibble gradually increasing the Acana otherwise you will make your animals allergic

I bought mine at a health pet store and the other kibble I use is the Hills Science Diet Natures Best(I use a 50-50 mixture). I am thinking of getting them off of the Science diet completely, since the second ingredient on it is maize (an American Indian word for corn = GRAIN ) The price is almost exactly the same except for a penny here and a penny there

I've been using this product for about a year and my cats are 1 year and 3 months old and are thriving. The nutritional value breakdown is good (36% protein etc.) It is completely grain free and uses regional animals and plants in the food so that everything is freshly prepared and can best match a cat's natural feeding ground. My cats are also fed wet grain free food so I can't attribute their shiny coat, and well developed lean muscles to acana exclusively, but it has contributed.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), because of this food, we may have found an underlying/pre-existing kidney problem with one of my cats. We had both of my cats on Acana for about 6-8 months. One of my cats started acting crazy licking all her fur out until her legs and stomach were bald and peeing outside of the litter box. We thought these were all unrelated and took her to the vet. Our vet suggested we go BACK on the vet-exclusive food that we had her on before all the problems started. We've had her back on it for 1 month now and her fur is back (yay!) and she hasn't had an accident since (yay!!!)

It's possible that she has a kidney issue and the Acana is just too high protein for her as far as I know, cats with renal issues need special LOW protein food.

The only mystery remaining is that my vet said she has never, EVER seen a 3 year old cat with symptoms of CHRONIC renal/kidney disease. She said she has only ever seen this in much, much older cats.

Not at all saying that the food caused any of these problems on the contrary... our other cat did just fine on the Acana.

It's a shame that Acana didn't work for us b/c it's a Canadian company with locally sourced ingredients.

Sad :(

We had a great experience with this product. The cat finds it highly palatable, and after eating this brand exclusively for half her existence, she has a very shiny, soft coat. The price is reasonable for a high-quality food. Of course, she is not allergic to any of the ingredients; if your cat scratches, has dry skin or ear infections after eating a high-quality food, check for allergies. Those are the signs and it's a matter of finding out through the process of elimination with a limited ingredient diet what is bothering your animal. But we had a great experience with this product and it doesn't cost much compared to other holistic/premium brands.

I ordered this cat food and it was delivered by the second day! I have researched thoroughly this brand of cat food and believe it is a good product. I am still in the weening process with the old cat food. So I can't really comment yet on how well the kitties are enjoying the food. My kitties are very particular so it is a slow process in getting them to switch. The ordering process was very easy and very quick on delivery with little cost. I will most definitely order again from this seller.
