I have an English Bulldog named Lola who has sensitive skin. I've done a lot of research into dog foods and treats in order to give her the best quality to help her skin issues and make sure she lives a long and healthy life. I recently bought these treats based on the excellent reviews of Orijen, and also because these treats do not have any grains OR chicken products, which is actually really hard to find. Many Bulldogs have food sensitivities to chicken, so I always try to avoid it. I think the regional red line has the best ingredients for any dog with food allergies or sensitivities. Also it doesn't hurt that my dog LOVES these treats! Since switching to these, her shedding has lessened (not stopped, but I don't think that will ever happen.) I also use "Solid Gold Seameal Mineral and Vitamin Supplement for Horses, Dogs, and Cats" which I think really helps her coat, too.
My only other note is that they are a weird freeze-dried texture. The treats are extremely light weight, which was a little weird at first because all of her other treats are pretty solid and heavy. But I think the way they process these treats makes them retain more nutrition that way. Also they are not a uniform shape, so you know they aren't mass produced. They are expensive compared to other treats, but I always feel that investing in a dog's food and treats is the most important thing you can do for his or her health. We had a bulldog before Lola who lived to be just two weeks shy of her 12th birthday, which is really old for a bully. I attribute that to always giving her great quality food and treats.
As an added bonus they are fun to throw in the air for your dog to catch she catches these treats more often because they are so light, it gives her a fraction of a second longer for it to drop down, so she catches these more often!
