I loved this when I first got it 3 months ago and thought it was the perfect product for the price for my then 9 week old Lab. Lo and Behold, 3 months later and 30lbs heavier she's able to nimbly scramble over it with ease.
The problem is that the see-through mesh barrier on top has no support and just folds over with a little force (such as your dog leaning on top of it). The rest of the contraption is pretty good otherwise as the 4 straps hold it stretched taut so that small dogs will not be able to nose through the bottom or sides of the barrier (nor reach the top part).
Installation was a semi-breeze. The top straps go around the head rest but it was a mite confusing as to how to tie the bottom ones as it didn't come with any instructions. I finally figured it out that it went around the OEM velcro seat covering holes on the bottom of the seats. YMMV however as not all cars may have that (My parents' didn't).
Ultimately, if you have a small dog, I would recommend this without reservation as it stumped my lab for months until she grew tall enough to rest her front paws on top and the mesh area just gave in (only the mesh part however, but it was enough to provide a semi-ladder for her to scramble up)
If you have a large dog, then caution should be heeded. It's possible that your dog may not be the exploratory type or would rather stay in back than in front. If so, then this is a nice little extra deterrent (and really, the price can't be beat) but be warned that it is not 100% effective for large breeds.

This is a great product. I've been looking for something like this for 4 years. I don't have an SUV and it's always been a challenge to drive around with the dog because she loves climbing into the front of the car. This is quite dangerous and has caused some issues in the past. Now that I've installed the Auto Pet Barrier in our 2005 Acura TSX the dog can't get into the front seats. She still lays her head on the pet barrier but gets annoyed pretty quickly and resigns herself to laying on the back seat (a much safer proposition). I wouldn't think this product would work too well for dogs over a certain weight and height, but it works for our 40 pound dog very well.Buy Pet Parade Auto Pet Barrier Now
This is great for keeping the dogs from jumping up front with me! It's sturdy so they can't squeeze through any openings!Read Best Reviews of Pet Parade Auto Pet Barrier Here
This product is such a waste of money. My dog is only 13 lbs. and he just caves in this piece of junk. I would love to send back for refund but after shipping cost it wouldn't be worth it. I don't recommend this product at all. It is so flimsy all your dog has to do is jump on it and it loses it's structure. Also my dog can also jump over it just as easy. Spend more money and get something better. We have two large Collies who wanted to come right to the front of the minivan. One is not that happy to ride in a moving vehicle and as a result she drools profusely, usually on my two kids, who cannot stand being covered in dog spit. We bought this barrier from Pet Parade and it works Perfectly! I had thought about getting one of the metal barriers that looks like bars. But I didn't want something blocking my view out the back while driving. Plus, some of those are fairly pricy. This one is light-weight, doesn't block my view, but it Does keep the dogs in the back. And it is super easy to install and removes quickly. Also, the pockets are a great bonus! All this for about $15 is crazy good!
