The bully sticks we received were not braided. I was lead to believe that they would be. Nevertheless, the unbraided ones are fine so I really don't have a complaint. In fact, my dog seems to chew through the unbraided ones less quickly than the braided and he likes them equally well.My 40 pound hound loves this product. Also this is an American product. therefore in my estimate safer for the dog. My dog has a "sensitive stomach. Can not eat/use rawhide chews as they cause problems in the digestive track these work well to solve the chewing urge
