I've had an Amazon "Subscribe & Save" subscription for the Smokey Bacon flavor of this brand for over a year and my dogs love them. So I figured they might love these too... I was right!! As with the bacon flavor, if you want a treat that will last a while, this is definitely not it! It takes less than a minute for my dogs to make one of them history.Just FYI: I've ordered this item twice and both times I received "Better Than Ears Plus Hip & Joint" (which contains glucosamine and condroitin). That's fine with me, but it's not listed in the description so I thought I would mention it for those who may have concerns about supplements.
And just in case you're confused by the 1.95 pound specification, it translates into 36 "ears" per package. I just wish Amazon would make this item available through Subscribe & Save like the bacon flavor!!

read the ingredients they basically have anti-freeze in them, and well I can't feed them even though the dogs love them. I have a dalmatian who has developed stones since I got these and now they are no longer allowed in the house. For under $12 at the time this review was published, 36 of these quality, ear-shaped treats is an awesome value especially because one of my dogs is obsessed with them!SIZE
They are about the size a a small pig ear, so maybe about 4" by 2.5"; or maybe smaller. (I don't have any to measure at the moment, so I'll update.) The size means they aren't really very good for larger dogs with powerful chewing needs. They'd swallow them after two chomps. But my dachshunds are just the right size to spend a satisfying 5 or so minutes working on these. They're like Doggie Candy Bars.
PROS
Yes, they do get devoured much, much faster than an actual ear chew. That would be a strike, except my older doxie loves these so darn much, plus they are easier for older chewers, digestible, have no offensive odors or creepy factor, and include some helpful supplements. And the peanut butter ones have a delicious peanut buttery scent, with a slight taffy texture that makes me a tad wistful for a human version!
THE BETTER THAN EAR GOURMAND
The Queen of our doxies is the most fixated on these Better Than Ears. She will crawl up on my chest and gets in my face, whining a certain whine and pawing at me, which we've now happily figured out means: "Please may I have my treat now!?" They have plenty of other, popular, longer lasting chews, but the lady craves these. She gets one a day, ideally, but the sneak will often beg each member of the family, innocently implying she hasn't had her "peanut butter" yet!
VALUE AND ALL-AROUND WINNER
The value of these beloved, high-quality treats is really amazing, with a whopping 36 treats per large bag for under $12 as of this review, AND I get them with precious PRIME! (By the way, Prime pays for itself very, very quickly, then, like,14 times over, if you buy all your pet items on Amazon like I do.) A bag of BTE lasts for weeks, when, with 4 dogs, we're forever looking for new, healthy, popular treats. These, especially for the Baroness, are a permanent staple!
