I got this for my Jack Russell/Labrador mix and it has worked exactly as described. I tried many other toys and most only lasted a couple of days before she had the stuffing pulled out or I was finding little pieces of rubber in my carpet, even those designated as teething/chewing type toys. This is well worth the money. I bought two over 3 months ago and she is still on the first one where as before I was buying practically a toy a week.

I have always liked Nylabones. We have bigger dogs that chew through raw-hide bones in a matter of minutes. These are great because they last for months even with big dogs. As long as we have a few of these around our dogs never chew up things they aren't supposed to.

We have two smaller dogs, 13 and 14 pounds. They both loved to chew on these bones. They would chew for hours--until there was nothing left! Then one day one of them got sick. Within 36 hours he was gone! We are devastated! A piece of nylabone broke off and lodged in his intestine. It did not show up on X-Rays since it is a plastic substance. I bought this for a dachshund/lab mix. He would only chew it IF I was trying to take it several time. The flavor just wasn't there for him to be interested. So I boiled some chicken broth and waited for it to cool a smidgen and let the nylabone sit in it for 15 minutes. I let it cool completely and now he's happy chewing! I have been watching him closely to make sure he doesn't eat plastic but he's doing great chewing. If you can't get your dog to enjoy it, I suggest trying that.
