I was looking for a light weight lead for my small dog and thought a 3/8 lead would be perfect. This lead is 3/8" DIAMETER which makes it pretty thick and heavy for an 18 lb dog. I like to put the lead in my jeans pocket when my dog runs off-leash and this one is bulky and a whole pocketful!
The brass snap is good quality, but it is very heavy. This would be a good lead for a medium to large dog not a small dog. I didn't much care for the leather bindings that cover the rope ends below the loop and above the snap.
