I purchased this product because it has a different mechanism than a standard dog puzzle, hoping the difficulty level would be higher. I started with 5 stars and added and subtracted stars for the various good and bad things.

The quality of the product itself is sub par.

(-1 star) When it arrived I immediately noticed that one of the sides of the sliding portions was loose.

(-1 star) After only one play session this basically fell off and another side portion became loose.

(-1 star)It is put together with two pegs and some wood glue which is just not good enough.

(-1 star) The sliding portions do not line up properly with the openings on top of the toy on the slide that is located in the interior of the toy making it extremely easy for the treat to be located.

(+1 star) The drawer idea is a really good one just poorly executed but it's something I would not have thought of myself for a puzzle toy.

(+1 star) Personally I can repair all this myself and actually make this portion of the toy a quality that it needs to be to not fall apart after 5 minutes of use but if you are not able to do that don't bother with this item.

(-1 star) NOT worth the money considering the time and effort it will take to repair this to a proper quality.

(+1 star)The quality on the standard puzzle openings is better. They are more difficult for the dog to access which makes it a bad toy for beginner dogs but a great toy for the more advanced puzzle solvers.

(-1 star)The difficulty will turn off some dogs and cause them to loose interest

Overall this still leaves only a 2 star product so don't bother unless you are good with tools, willing to put in the time to fix the product and and have an advanced puzzle solver.

The idea of the toy is great. My lab mix can solve most puzzles, so I'm always on the lookout for a challenge. But the cheap particle board that the puzzle is made of is disappointing. I never leave these sorts of puzzles with my dog unsupervized, but even so, the poor quality makes me fear it won't last long.

We have several other dog puzzles. This one is okay, the sliding squares work nice but the holes on the sliding bars don't line up. I don't like the idea of my little ones trying to use their tiny mouths in the slots of a moving part that doesn't line up very well.

I thought I was going to love this item. Unfortunately my 7 lb dog was able to bite the particle board and the game was destroyed within 15 minutes of opening the package. I would not recommend this item to anyone.
