My neighbor was moving and could not take his Biewer Terrier. We took Bentley in and even after many baths still had a doggy smell.A Petco employee told me about this food and how it is grain free and full of protein and veggies. Reading the ingredients I was amazed the price was a bit high but I thought I would give it a try. After 6 weeks Bentley hardly has any odor, his eyes are no longer wet and gunky, his breath is great and no gas. He is full of energy and very happy! This is a must try!!!

I have a ten year old Yorkie who for the last five to seven years has required both steroid shots and antibiotics for staph during the summer months. [June-August] I took many measures in an effort to prevent this condition. Mainly addressing allergies both contact and dietetic. I tried several high quality dog foods. Grain free varieties as well as prescription diets all to no avail. After much research I decided to try "Halo Spot's Stew Grain-Free Surf N' Turf Diet. That was in June of 2012. I was immediately pleased when it arrived as my dog loved it. The cat even eats it. The real thrill came this summer. Absolutely no skin problems! No staph infection, itching, scratching, or vet visits. I couldn't ask for a better food. She enjoys it and it alleviated health issues she was suffering from. If you have a dog with allergy issues I would suggest you give this food a shot.

My little one is quite picky! She loves Fromm and that's pretty much it. However Fromm is hard to find with Amazon Prime so I've been trying to find something else. She loves the halo dehydrated beef treats but halo wet food is so hard on her stomach. She loves this! I love it too because her stomach reacts well to it. I give a little bit of wet wellness with it. Makes a fabulous alternative when I don't feel like dealing with her Honest Kitchen. I highly recommend this. She doesn't love all the flavors but this one is a keeper.

We've been purchasing Halo dog and cat foods for some time because our dogs and cats like them. I just found out that Ellen DeGeneres is a part owner of the company and I know that she's an animal lover and that increases my confidence level in this brand. Honestly, it's so difficult to find pet foods these days that I feel comfortable with, especially after all the recalls in recent years and all that I've read about some of the awful things that end up in pet foods. For a while we made food for our dogs and cats with people food ingredients. But while the dogs loved it, it was hard to get the cats to make the change. And it's nice to be able to leave dry food out for the casual grazers. We still make some, but supplement with Halo.

This is one of the few foods that hasn't been recalled and their website states that they don't use meat or chicken "meal" in their foods. According to the company website the reason they don't use them is because "Like chicken meal, other rendered ingredients may legally contain 40 ingredients and waste products. Halo's philosophy is not to use those ingredients and waste products. Also, if an ingredient does not specify the species, for example meat meal, it will not be clear exactly which animal flesh was used in manufacturing. Halo's fresh ingredients are always identified by species, i.e. :lamb."

And they don't use by-products because "Like chicken meal, by-product meals are rendered ingredients which may legally contain 40 ingredients and waste products. Halo's philosophy is not to use those ingredients."

I feel good about feeding this food to my pets.
