Not to give too much of a background story so I'll keep it short. Almost a month ago my boyfriend adopted a tabby full grown cat. I came home from work and the two of them were sitting on the couch looking up at me, I was a little shocked but automatically fell in love with her and he already had my love of course!
He already bought her a little box, litter and food; I was definitely impressed. We took her to the vet to get a checkup to make sure she was doing ok, the girl my boyfriend got the cat from said she was healthy and everything was fine but we just wanted to be sure. That same morning we noticed that she had an accident on one of the bathroom mats. We originally thought maybe the diarrhea was just caused by the food. The vet estimated that she was a little over 3 and that she was overall in ok health. We told her about the accident that we noticed that morning and the vet mentioned that she could have a digestion problem that may require more testing. She gave us a list of recommended medications and food to put her on and we noticed that there were probiotic chewable treats on it. I'm a huge probiotic fan but I never thought about addition probiotics to an animal's diet, but I was game.
She recommended Opti-Probiotic and said that not only could it help with our cat's diarrhea but it will also promote a healthy digestive system in general. We decided to just stick to one alternative so we didn't overload our cat with weird food and drugs. That same day we ordered a bag from Amazon and crossed our fingers, cleaning poop up in the meantime. I got a picture message from my boyfriend with of the package when it came, that's how excited we were! My boyfriend and I were both relieved when she ate the treat right away, now we knew we wouldn't have issues with getting her to eat them. We started her on one chewable a day because of her weight and hoped for the best.
I wanted to wait a decent amount of time before writing a review to see if the product really works but it's been so amazing so far I just couldn't wait any longer. It's been just a couple weeks I believe since we gave Bella (my boyfriend named her) one of the Opti-Probiotic chewable treats and we are proud to say, no more diarrhea or accidents! And a bonus, she's like the kitten we never had! She has so much energy now and plays with every chance she gets. We're even thinking about getting her a friend so she has someone to play with all the time!
We took her to the vet yesterday and she said our little adopted kitty has almost a 100% clean bill of health! She was even surprised by how great her coat looked. We never thought her fur looked bad before but it's clear she wasn't getting the nutrients she needed before we put her on the probiotic treat and it shows in her coat.
Overall the Opti-probiotic treats did everything they said they could and more. Our cat's digestive and diarrhea problems went to minimal to zero, her overall health is better, and she has a bunch of energy! Can't wait to see how she'll be in a month and then some!
