***FYI...I bought three of the Linkables; the one review covers all of them***
I realize that you should always watch and pay close attention to how your dog interacts with a new toy; but I usually have more than 2 minutes before a toy is destroyed. I gave my dog this hard rubber toy with a treat pushed into the middle. The toy seemed to be very well made, but you will want to use their treats because getting anything else inside there was a... can I say "b*tch" when reviewing a dog product without getting heckled?...so anyways.. I walked into the other room to grab my drink and came back in to find that my chocolate lab had managed to get the treat out of the center -by ripping the neck off of the toy. No lie, it was just that quick. I bought the three toys together, thinking that my three labs would have hours of fun trying to figure out how to get the snack. The second Linkable I tried lasted about 5 minutes before my female chocolate chewed big chunks off of it. My male chocolate will easily destroy toys usually... my female chocolate never does; so that says a lot to me about the quality of the item.
I think it is a great concept for a dog toy, and I would guess that small dogs would be OK with these, but not medium to larger sized dogs. Especially if your dog likes to chomp and chew! While these look "Kong"-ish, they are not built to be chomped on. This is one toy I would never suggest anyone ever allow their dogs to play with unsupervised for fear of choking. One last note: THESE THINGS SMELLED! The smell of the rubber was super strong when I opened the box, and they were still stinking up the room after sitting in the trash can for two days.
Bottom line: I think toys that make dogs use their heads to solve a problem are great. However, while my dogs didn't learn anything from these toys, their owner sure did!

....but my Catahoulas annihilated them chewing off hunks of the rubber until all that was left was a big wad of rubber. I think these might be just the ticket for a dog that is not much of a gnaw-er but for a dog that has some bite power in their jaws, they are a waste of money. Too bad looks like a really good idea.Buy Premier Busy Buddy Linkables Twist Dog Toy, Mini Size Now
I have a German Shepherd and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They love these toys! I feed my Cavalier his meals using the elbow, since he eats way to fast otherwise. I've seen him spend up to 30 minutes trying to work out a treat he's really food motivated. I'm giving it a five star (vs a 4), since it goes beyond a toy to a mealtime must for my Cavalier.Read Best Reviews of Premier Busy Buddy Linkables Twist Dog Toy, Mini Size Here
My aussie mix is a little brainiac and unfortunately she isnt able to run/work hard since she has bad hips she is really really smart and has mastered several versions of "busy balls". This item(s) has added a whole new level of complexity to the puzzle and she loves this challenge. She is not a big chewer (although I think they would hold up pretty well but, maybe not after reading other reviews). But, her brain is definately working harder to get the treats out.
Since they are unusually shaped it takes many "tries" and tossing around to get the treats out. She really enjoys the challenge and will spend a half hour on her work. I have purchased all three pieces and started with just giving her one configuration and then added the other pieces as she learned how to play with this. I'm glad I added this to her line-up of busy ball toys. She is exhausted when she's completed the task at hand and that makes us all happy.
On a product note; I purchased directly from a retail outlet and I did not notice any odd odors. I'm very happy with this product especially for the dog who needs a lot of mental stimulation.

I love challenging puzzle toys like this. It's essentially just a tube, but there are little "teeth" on the top and bottom so that when you put treats inside, they don't easily come out. These types of toys keep my dog really busy tossing the toy around the house until the treats pop out. If you have a dog that is easily bored, I would recommend this and the other Linkables toys to keep them busy!
