After searching far and wide and purchasing many bowls for my kitty this one did the trick. It is shallow and wide enough that his whiskers don't touch the side of the bowl. In cat terms, if the bowl is a little too deep or narrow it translates, "I better get my head out of this thing." Due to an illness, my cat had lost a lot of weight, and we were trying to get him to eat more food more frequently. This bowl did it! We previously owned Castlemere bowls that worked pretty well for Scootie, but they stopped making the bowls we liked. So I can now say that our search ended with this elegantly simple BIA Oslo Cat Bowl. Plus it is a fraction of the cost of other bowls. The ceramic is nicely glazed and heavy enough for a human to eat from it. I stocked up on these babies, and couldn't be happier. Scootie loves his new bowls and eats two different soft foods, and has 8 meals a day. So, dish-washing was a must. Lastly, they are just the right size that his food doesn't spill over from the edges. We love them!

I've found that cats like shallow rimmed dishes, which can be hard to find, and these are a nice diameter (not too big), and look neat.

I recently broke my bowl like this, but was able to find it again on Amazon and order a replacement. It is our favorite bowl for our 2 cats. It is just the right size diameter, deep enough to contain the food without being scattered, yet shallow enough not to force Mr Puddy to stick his head down into something. I hope they remain available indefinitely. Wish it was available thru Amazon Prime. Ive posted a photo of the bottom of the bowl showing it is Microwave and Dishwasher safe. Tho it says it is made in China, I have no idea how to tell if it has lead in it.

These look great, wash well and fit a can of wet food perfectly. Our little messy eater enjoys them too, at least insofar as he doesn't suffer kitty acne as a result of plastic / metal dishware. I'm sure he couldn't care less about the design or color of the dish itself, but we like it as it fits in well with our aesthetic.
