This video teaches exactly what it says it will. First, I guess there are two videos out there, one with a dark dog and one with a white one. This is a review of the video with the white miniature poodle. This is an amateur production which is okay because you get the feeling that you can set up exactly what she has in your home. The groomer knows what she is talking about and is very caring with the dog who is wonderful to allow this grooming (which can take 2-3 hours). She shows you how to do the basics along with 3 clipping styles and explains EVERYTHING as she goes. Sure, I would have liked to see a professional looking salon with high production video equipment, however that is not what I will have at my home. The groomer shows you how to groom your dog at home and she looks and is dressed the way anyone would dress when grooming their dog at home. She speaks clearly and does not show a lot of unnecessary grooming equipment for you to purchase. The groomer anticipates your questions and answers them. This product may not be high production but it is worth every penny if you are looking to save money and learn how to groom your poodle at home.

This is not a studio production, it is a home production done is a clear straightforward manner.

Lena Vinzant is organized and folksy at the same time.

Her cameraman (husband?) did a pretty good job of zooming in when needed, and the images are clear and show what Lena is demonstrating very well.

I am not a groomer but wanted to see how to clip nails and clean ears on a rescue poodle/mutt cross who has been abused in the past, so is very touchy.

Lena ain't no highfalutin lecturer, nor shi shii stylist either, she's just "folks."

If you need perfect grammar and an accent from the Euro-zone, Lena is not for you.

If you want complete, clear and easy to follow instructions, she is for you.

This is an excellent DVD for anyone who wants to groom his own poodle at home.

I had trouble getting it because the picture and title is for a Miniature Poodle grooming with a white poodle shown behind a pink background. The DVD that comes has a red case with a black poodle behind the red background.

Since there was a bad review for the black poodle version, I sent the DVD back twice without opening it. Later I found the maker of the DVD at and

The lady who made the DVD responded to my email and told me that the black poodle dvd is discontinued and all the cases with the black poodle on the red case actually contain the white miniature poodle.

I bought the DVD at ,

and sure 'nuff it had the white miniature poodle in it.

I watched the DVD and it is very good and very practical. I have since asked Lena, (the groomer who made the DVD) several questions by email and she is very helpful and responds almost immediately.

I ordered this Special DVD in order to 'see How To' properly maintain my little poodle, and to see what tools I should order that I didn't already have? Everything that I needed to know was fully explained, and now I will be able to brush, and clip her coat much better than two of our locar area groomers who charge more than $50.00 each for doing the same things that I will now be able to accomplish for Free.
