Yes this brand is cheaper than other freeze dried salmon treats. However while it says wild alaskan salmon on the package, it's actually processed in China and only labeled on the BOTTOM of the bag! Guess you get what you pay for.

This would have gotten five stars because my cats love it, but it's only getting three because it's processed in China(!!!)

I have sent out an email to the president of the company directly to find out how much of this product is from China. Here is his response:

The salmon is caught in Alaska and then processed in China in an FDA approved facility.

Plus one of my little dog got sick as soon as she ate it. I have immediately returned the product for full refund.

While I consider myself up on most of the "organic, raw, health foods" & especially WHERE THEY ARE SOURCED FROM, I don't see a big issues here. The Salmon is wild Alaskan CAUGHT , & it's only processed in an FDA ( which really means nothing, even here!) China plant. I don't see any reason for great concern. Among other Health food raw supplement organic "junkies", I would not buy or consume ANYTHING from the waters of China or its surrounding areas!! Like Spirullina , or Chlorella & other such food, supplements. The waters, soil etc is contaminated from recent fall outs. This is well know & can easily be "goggled". But THIS is not from CHINA, it's ALASKAN SALMON, & processed in a China plant. While it would be better & ideal for this & everything to be made in the USA, we know that it's just not going to happen ( on a major scale, due to cheaper labor etc.). But I see no big issue with this product & have given it to my cats. Also, I did notice that on another pet food site (Chewy's) that this product NOW states MADE IN USA.... So I'm not sure if they changed where it's processed? Either way, I think it's a good treat, healthy & will continue to purchase it... Jenn~
