Used properly, with veterinarian guidance, Ivermectin can treat several problems common to dogs and can even be used for heart worm prevention. I want to stress the vet guidance because dosage is quite different for each individual use and for each individual dog; but this is quality animal medicine at the best price that I have found. I have a 45 pound dog, I can pay $10 a month for name brand heartworm preventative, or get this and pay $10 a year. It is not a difficult choice. For those with more than 1 dog I don't know how you could financially justify NOT buying this!

Amounts for dogs of this 1% solution for each 10 pounds of dog are:

0.0027mL (min for heartworm prevention),

0.027mL (suggested maximum for sensitive breeds i.e. collies)

0.04 (tested max safe for collies and other sensitive breeds)

0.09mL (for treating hookworms and roundworms)

The maximums for non-collies is

Max safe dose for noncollies 0.91mL

Min lethal dose 18mL

For my 45 pound grayhound / lab mix I give 0.1mL of the 1% solution. But there is a range one can use. If I suspected worms I would likely give the higher dose to treat that, and many people give their dogs yearly worm treating doses as a just in case.
