I understand that all dog toys are not indestructible, but Kong does a pretty good job of making sure it isn't. HOWEVER, I own a 6 month old German Shepherd and he loves his Kongs. I got him this one, along with the one it connects to to change things up a bit. He disconnected them and chomped down on the tube at the top that connects to the other Kongs. This part is the weakest of the whole thing, and in addition, is the weakest Kong I've ever seen. It's weak enough to easily be torn apart by dog teeth, but not weak enough that they can swallow a piece and pass it through their system. Our little guy suffered through the weekend because the vet couldn't do the surgery to get it out until he was stabilized and then they were closed on Sunday even after he was finally stable for surgery. My point being, this wouldn't have happened if this toy was as strong as all the other Kongs. I was watching him when he broke it apart, so even that tagline of "supervised play only" doesn't mean you'll be able to save him if he's too quick.

I normally love Kong products and assumed this one would be indestructible like the original Kong. Unfortunately, my 50lb Australian Shepard had the neck of this toy torn apart within 10 minutes. Luckily, he doesn't attempt to eat the pieces, but it is still a hazard that others should be aware of as mentioned by other reviewers above.

My dog can tear apart anything (and has tried), if you leave him alone with a space station for ten mins he would chew thru a wall. It took him about 1.5 months to even start chewing thru this. Pretty good quality and it diffently keeps him entertained and with a 9 month old puppy, thats great. Just keep and eye on him and IF your dog starts to tear it up take it away from him/her. that means he is bored and just chewing, not using it to get treats out.

It has saved so many of my shoes its not funny.

I have always tried to find a "hide the treat" toy that would work for my dogs. I have three Pekingese boys and they have destroyed about 6 different designs of these "hide the treat" toys. This one is the only one that has withstood the test of my boys. It has held up great and they still love it! My only issue now is that I have to go and buy two more so that they can all have one to chew at the same time!

Tilly must have strong teeth because even when products are labeled durable, they just aren't durable enough for her. We like the toy, but she was able to eat some of the plastic, which is no good!
