It has been almost three months with my new treat keep and i love it even more than i did when it first arrived in the mail. My Boyfriend and I have been training our border terrier puppy (I wont lie the fact that the maker of this product had borders did make me choose this). We have found it so much easier to carry treats with us on walks and at the dog park. The one very important thing that i was looking for in a treat/training bag is that its not only easy to access but also keeps the treats fresh. A Month after we had the treat keep i picked up another treat bag from our local pet store so my boyfriend and i wouldn't fight over the treat keep. This treat bag had a draw string and hooked to your belt or pant loop (outward hound brand). Personally i hated the fact that the treats would get hard and stale after an hour in the bag, although it did have easier access since all you had to do was stick your hand in the bag and it would open up. That was another thing i appreciate about the treat keep when i bend over to pick something up the treats don't come flying out of the bag. By far the treat keep has been the most convenient treat bag i have used. The only con I can think of is that when you first use the treat keep its stiff and hard to open to get treats out, i had to use two hands sometimes. But that only lasted for about 3 days and then the material softened up a bit making it super easy to open and close.
Over all would i recommend this treat bag ? YES!
Also i forgot to mention that the treat keep is dog proof ! i accidentally left the treat keep full of delicious treats on the coffee table and when i cane home it was a little chewed up but no treats were missing from the bag!!This item is so handy for carrying my hound's frozen chicken bits. I can clip it on dresses and pants. If I end a walk with treats left over, the pouch is freezer-friendly to keep everything fresh. Even if the pouch smells after a few months, a quick dishwasher run fixes the problem. My chewtastic hound tried to eat it the other day, but he only got a small corner off the top! Talk about a great product...It seems odd to me that there aren't a lot of portable doggie treat keepers that close tightly to keep the treats fresh, but this one does the trick. We use soft treats for our dogs, so anything with just a drawstring would allow the treats to dry out in no time. This little flexible pouch works great, though. It is small enough to easily carry with you, and it opens and closes easily for quick access. You just squeeze it to open it, and then you press it closed. Simple, easy, and does what I needed it to do. Highly recommended. The only way I got this pouch to open, without using both hands and a crowbar, was to fill it up with extrememly 'HOT' water, hold it open with pliers or some device that keeps the pouch OPEN for about 5 min. When heated through, dump the hot water out, keep pouch propped open with the same device until it 'COOLS OFF', about 5 min. At least then you can push it open with one hand to retrieve your treats, but it doesn't hold a lot of treats . Even if the treats are small, this is a poor design and the rubber is too stiff for ease of use.
