Its a good idea but my puppy figured out fairly quickly the first time she used it. She's a german shepherd, high energy, and very motivated by food. Perhaps for other dogs it would be more of a challenge. Great concept though.Buy Trixie Poker Box, Level 2 Now
Great stage 2 learning toy for my dogs. Directions included with this toy instruct you to introduce each item separately before plopping down the assembled toy and expecting your dog to figure it out. Directions also suggest initially leaving the lid or drawer partially open so the dog can get the idea of opening each box to get to a treat. My dogs figured it out pretty fast (minutes), but they are excited every time they get to play with it (taking turns) and get some treats.If you find some of the red boxes popping off of their bases, just make sure to really press/snap the red box part into the red base part and then you'll have no problem. One of mine was lose; when I slid it into the black track base and my dog started playing with it, the red box popped off while the red base stayed in the black track piece. At first I was afraid it was broken but then just realized the two pieces weren't snapped together fully.

Keeps him busy, he loves it when I say "want to play a game" and bring this out! It took him a few tries before getting the concept, especially the pull strings... he easily moved the up and down items with his nose...Love this to keep his mind occupied!
