The wing and crown was easily chewed by my boy Chewie. But my other two boys love this hen and take it to bed with us. We have had them 2 weeks and they have not destroyed them. The squeaker is still in tack. Will buy again when I see them on sale.

Our two dogs--a 6-year-old Yellow Lab and a 3-year-old Golden love this toy. (There is also a Hen that matches the Rooster.) Once a year we get them toys for the year--usually at Christmas. I seldom buy anything that is not made by Go Dog. They hold up so much better than any other plush toy we have tried. And, they are washable although I haven't washed any of them yet.

Our Golden is a chewer, and eventually she will get inside of these Go Dog toys--usually going for the squeaker. I try to keep an eye on her, in particular, when she is playing with her toys. She is somewhat better about chewing, but she's a smart dog, and I think she chews (or explores) when she is bored. She doesn't try to chew through the Chew Guard probably because she hasn't had much luck, but she goes for the seams and pulls out the squeaker. They still have Go Dog toys from 3 Christmases ago.

I understand that Go Dog isn't going to make most of these dog toys from now on, so I'm going to stock up. They are much cheaper at Amazon than the pet stores.

I have heard a lot about the "chew guard technology" and have a couple friends that have raved about it... I ordered this with high hopes... Less than 15 minutes after opening the box and letting the dog play with it, and the first 10 minutes he just tossed it around... Then when he sat down to investigate the new toy further... He ripped open a wing... One good thing about this product is it does not have a ton of stuffing the dog can get to if he does rip it open. I'm going to patch it up and give it to a friend that has a less destructive dog.
