my dog Loves the Loving Pets Gourmet duck and chicken sticks but I am concerned b/c they are made in China so I wanted to wean him off those and found the Newman's chicken sticks as a similar treat. My dog has met them w/ mixed reviews, he is not crazy about them but will ultimately eat it. I feel more comfortable that these are made with reasonable ingredients and made in the US

We use these treat sticks to train our Labrador Retriever puppy. They break cleanly into small bits, are easy to dispense, and don't leave a meaty smell or greasy residue on one's hand. How can you beat these wholesome ingredients beginning with: organic chicken, organic oat flour, organic barley flour, and soy grits. It sounds much better to me than the corn and meat products content of an ubiquitous treat stick beginning with a Pu.Our dogs love these treats, look forward to them, and always devour them with relish. (figuratively speaking) I like that the Newman sticks are soft and chewy. We used to give the girls the rock hard rawhide sticks until shih tzu Piper broke a few teeth on them.
The price here on Amazon for these treats is excellent. Our local Safeway is the only store in which I've found them locally, and now that Safeway has stopped carrying them. Buying these Newman treats from Amazon is more convenient and less expensive. A Win, Win.My dog who is the world's most finicky eater (seriously we have to hand feed him his kibble to make him eat it! And yes we have tried everything) loves these. I carry them on walks as training treats. In fact, every dog in my neighborhood loves them too, I get one out at the park to practice recall with Theo and suddenly there are half a dozen furry friends sitting eagerly at my feet!
They do smell like they have a high sugar content, so check if your dog is prone to weight gain or a diabetic risk. I am just happy to find something my underweight fur-ball will eat.

My dog loves these little "cigars." And she looks so funny when she first puts one in her mouth! Great photo op.I've started buying the ones with vegetables instead of brown rice, since we're working on getting to a grain-free diet for health reasons, and they are the same price. She likes them just the same.
I have had such good service from this company. We had a little problem with another one of their treat products and they bent over backwards to make things right, going farther than I ever expected. I have great respect for Newman's Own's commitment to quality.
