I have 2 rescued Westies. Molly had been a puppy mill breeder for who knows how many years. After we brought her home, we noticed that as soon as she used the bathrrom in the back yard, she would turn around to eat it. I bought Nasty Habit and gave it to her with breakfast and dinner; she likes the taste, so it was no problem. It didn't take long fer her to stop trying to eat her own, but when she would see Winston starting to use the bathroom, she would run over to where he was & then try to eat his feces. So, I had to start giving Nasty Habit to Winston, too. He seems to not like the taste, so I just have to break it into smaller pieces and put it in with his food. After about a week, I started breaking the tablets in half, and giving each dog 1/2 a tablet in the morning and 1/2 in the evening. It still seems to be working, and the bottle should last twice as long. :D

I have tried several other treatments for this problem, with little success. This one works on a consistent basis with no side effects. Do not try to skimp on the number of tablets you need for the weight of your dog. It will not be as effective.

Only one of our four dogs was eating poo, and it seems to have stopped her, but it made one of my other dogs START eating poo. Voraciously. It's also made them all slightly constipated, so we're discontinuing using this product.

I have three shi tzus and at various times at least two of them exhibited this "nasty habit". I tried various home remedies as well as something that the vet had. Needless to say nothing worked. I saw this and thought oh well why not. I give all three of my dogs a tablet as their bedtime "treat". They actually look forward to it every night. I ran out once, and noticed one of the dogs started the "nasty habit" again. Now I make sure that I have some on hand and continue to give them one every night at bed time. It did work for me. I can find it at the pet store, but Amazon is the best price around so far.

I've tried a few different products or ways to deter coprophagia in my puppy. The vet claimed they had something that worked better than commercial products, but even that didn't work. So I went looking for something again. I had read about what types of things would deter pets from getting near stuff, such as hot peppers. This product contained a derivative of hot peppers, as well as Yucca Schidigera to reduce odors in stools to make them less appealing, Thiamine (an amino acid) which is a common deficiency shown to cause coprophagy in some dogs, Glutamic Acid which makes stools taste very bitter to the dog when mixed with stomach acids, and digestive enzymes for overall digestion (this information is from the product's description). All of these things appealed to me because they seemed to cover all the reasons a dog might have coprophagia.

So I tried it. It took about 24-36 hours, but it started working. I noticed after a few days he was still taste testing, so I increased the dosage by 1/2 a pill and that did the trick! I will continue buying if necessary. Finally, something that works!!!
