I purchased Angel's Eyes Sweet Potato Flavor for my Shih Tzu's runny eyes. I gave her Three doses, one per day and gave her less than it recommended for her size and it made my dog throw up, have diarrhea and was very miserable. I quit giving her the product and she was better in two days.
Even though the Sweet Potato does not contain the antibiotic Tyrosine, I don't think it is safe for dogs. Angel's Eyes also sells some flavors with the antibiotic in it. There are many vets who say this product is unsafe for dogs, especially little dogs. They recommend eye washes. I have switched my dog over to eye wipes that contain witch hazel. It seems to help with the tearing and smell.

I have always had good luck with Angel Eyes. This is the first time I purchased the one with Sweet Potato flavor. This did not work at all. I gave my dog extra and nothing -nothing. His brown eye discharge came back terrible. I have since purchased the traditional product from PetRX with the hope that it will work again. This could have been a sham product and not true Angle Eyes...very mad!!!My pup really loves this. I put it on her food and she eats it up. It will take time but her tear stains are beginning to dry up. I really like this stuff.I purchased this product not realizing it was not the same formulation I had purchased many times in the past. I have always had great success with angel eyes on my two Malit-Tzu's. That was not the case with purchase. The staining was out of control. I thought perhaps I got a bad batch. Then I read that the "natural" version is missing a key ingredient, Tylosin, compared to the original formulation. In my case, the natural version did not work. I will make sure to purchase the original formula with the Tylosin from now on.Bought this product for: Eliminating dark staining on undereye area hair of Maltese Dog.Product Result: I have been using Angel Eyes for over 8 months now...and love it! It have elimitated the permanent staining under my Maltese dogs eyes. It still comes out dark colored but, it is like an eye booger...(kind of like when us humans get sleep in our eyes when we wake up in the morning). So, it is usually dry and it just combs out or I remove it with my fingers. If it is wet still it still removes without staining the hair that it is on. I no longer need to cut the undereye hair to remove the stained hair which is so nice. I use one scoopful in my dogs food...mixed up once a day.
Note: I have run out of Angel Eye's a couple of times and did not have it for my pets food for a couple weeks at a time. The staining did not occur during that time. So, the product must stay in the pets systems for awhile.
