We feed our 140 lbs. dog with 3..4 cups of this kibble, twice a day (supplemented with some 'normal' food in small amounts). Our vet recommended it and our dog seems to enjoy it and it's though it's hard to know what is going on in his joints and cells, he looks as healthy as ever since we switched to this food; has predictably regular movements, etc. The kibbles are huge like charcoal briquetesbut the dog seems to like it; occasionally he will pick one of the bowl and carry it away to chew on it like a treat.

The bag is big and heavy fortunately we have Amazon Prime to cover the shipping. So far we shopped this from petco but they are discontinuing the item as it doesn't seem to sell enough.

We tried all the various tricks to slow down one of our Shiloh Shepherds. The doughnut shaped bowl, the big metal ball in the dish, but settled on this one. a) because it's a simple solution and b) because our guys really like it. The kibble is huge maybe 1.5" on a side. Too big to inhale. It forces them to slow down and eat each piece individually.

I'm unlikely to ever try another brand for my two.

We love this dog food, although in our area it's hard to find and it's cheaper to order online. We have two St Bernards, and this large chunk dog food forces them to 'chew' instead of swallow. We tried other smaller foods, but our dogs inhale it and we were afraid they were going to bloat. I will always feed them Royal Canin Giant Breed.

Although really expensive, I love this dog food. Our Newfoundland eats it right up without coaxing or adding other foods like we have had to do with her with other brands. She is maintaining a good weight, has lots of energy and is shiny. The huge pieces look like brown charcoal briquettes as may have been mentioned in another review. She is not a gobbler, but I've thought about feeding this to our Lab for that reason. Our vet also recommends this brand and sells it. It also gets a high rating on dog food review site that I checked--4 out of 5 stars based on food content. Having it delivered is so convenient. It had been available through Amazon Prime---wish it still was!

We began feeding Royal Canin Giant Breed Adult to our first two German Shepherds in 1990. From 2-5 mos., we tried every top brand on them Iams, Hills Science Diet (store brand and Vet line), Canidae, Eukanuba, etc. Some they wouldn't even touch and the ones they tried would come out one end or the other in no time at all. The pups were weak and sickly. Exhausted from their daily surprises, I found this food their coats started shining, lots more energy, clear bright eyes, and NO stomach or health issues since.
