My cat takes various medications, so I thought I would give this a try. It worked great for a week, but then my cat refused to eat them because he realized there were pills in it. They also don't work for capsules!! I finally got a pill dispenser from my vet that works great!!

These are wonderful little pill pockets -the idea is fantastic, but I've yet to see a cat actually take a pill or a capsule in one. I've tried them with 5 cats so far, and no luck. The cats all sniff them, and either walk away, or if they do try eating them, they end up spitting them out. I've ended up using them as treats only. Our cat, Bubba has thyroid problems that require medication. We always had a hard time getting him to take a pill twice a day. Now he takes them with no problem at all. My cat has CRF and suffers from heartburn/acid indigestion as a result and has no desire to eat while symptomatic. (He lost 7 pounds, and I was desperate to help him.) My vet suggested that I try giving him an antacid and advised that I use the Greenies Pill Pockets. I took his advise; what a difference a pill makes!!! I would never have guessed this would work, but it has, and my cat is happy to eat again and is holding his weight. I may not have my cat forever, but as long as he is alive I will provide him with whatever he needs to keep him happy and comfortable.
