We adopted a dog from the humane society and had tried about 6 different high quality dog foods before we tried this one, this is the first one that we really noticed a big difference! Her coat came back and her itching has reduced noticeably. She's gaining weight and loving it, as is our other (non-allergic) dog. i have been buying dog food, for id say probably 20 years. and for the most part i didnt know the full extent of the crap i was feeding my dog. i used to buy anything id find at the local grocery store. turns out the stuff is bad for them. i believe the vet bills confirmed this. since i made the switch to instinct my beagles have been doing much better. one is just turning 15 and has basically turned back the clock. when it comes to dog food you really do get what you pay for.

I use this for my disc herniated Doberman. I use regular harness for her front legs and use this up lift harness for her back legs, so I can carry her in and out of the house few times a day to do her business. She is 58lbs. When I use it, it is all squeeze together become a narrow belt and dig into her belly. I have to put a heavy padding inside so it won't hurt her belly. I wish it is more heavy duty. I guess for the price, you really couldn't ask too much. Still, I am disappointed.

I have a med.sized Malinois mix with really bad hips. I was hoping this would be better than the towels I've been using to stabilize her back end, but the soft harness has no inner support, so it just slips to the thinnest part of her abdomen, which is her bladder--which is the same problem I was having with the towels. If she was chubby and flat from her chest across her belly, it would fit great. I'm keeping it because it dries faster than the towels when washed.

This is a quality lift and had the circumstances been different I would have kept it. As it was, I needed it for a very thin Airedale with a broken front leg. It worked great going UP steps, but slipped off going DOWN steps because his back end is so thin. The size smaller wouldn't have fit his chest right. His size also was a bit too long for a male dog and irritated his 'dangly bits'... Would have been perfect for my female dog except was a size too small. I LOVE Kyjen products they always seem to be first rate.

This helped us lift our 11 year old German Shepherd who couldn't use her back legs. She lost so much weight that I had to add another row of velcro, but it fit and still worked great. I'd definitely recommend this product.

I have been using this bowl with my Shih Tzu for a few days. I work at a dog food store and have watched a beagle and lab mix use it as well. The other two dogs seem to be able to do the puzzle a bit more easily, as they can get the treat/food out with their tongues. I'm sure this doesn't happen to every dog but it made my yellow lab choke, gag, and vomit even more than usual. He was just excited and frustrated and it caused him to swallow a lot of air.

Plus the design is a little silly having openings on two ends so it limits where you can put it near a wall or any other obstruction. I should also point out that this thing is huge; easily twice as big as a normal dog bowl.

This has slowed the "Wild One" down tremendously before I got this bowl, he would have inhaled all his food before I could put the other two dogs' dishes down. He's now discovered that you actually "chew" the food and the other two dogs are happy to be able to eat their food without the "Wild One" pacing impatiently for them to finish so he can look for any leftovers.

I have a 5 month old Golden Retriever who inhales his food, and has some digestive problems. I had some success putting his food in a big red Kong, but he would scatter food all over the kitchen, and the cats would inevitably get to some of it. Dog food makes cats smell bad!

I was looking for something anything, really that would stop my dog from gulping down her food as if she were trying to inhale it with just one bite. I used to feed her 2 cups of food at each meal, and she'd have it totally gone in 30 seconds (no joke). We are VERY consistent in what we feed our 20lb dog, so we are 100% sure that she got quite sick after eating a large busy bone as it was the ONLY change in her diet, and the symptoms came on within hours of eating the bone. We are on day three right now and she is obviously in pain as she whimpers every now and then, has had diarrhea for three days and is more clingy and timid than she has ever been. Warning to dog owners! This product has caused many dogs, including mine, diarrhea, vomiting, and seizures.

My history with this product:

My dog was very ill for 3 days: violent diarrhea and vomiting. Called vet after first day, they instructed me to keep him on a bland diet, and to bring him in if this persisted more than 3 days. Luckily, he got better and I didn't have to take him in. I thought, maybe it's just my dog and he has a sensitive stomach?

I went to the web to research the product and found others had experienced the same thing. So I wondered...why is this product still on the market? I contacted Purina, and after no luck with them (who claimed they never heard of any complaints), I contacted the FDA, which currently has this product under surveillance.

By the way, my dog is not a toy breed, he's a 20 lb. mutt. So say what you want to say about the latest 'not meant for toy breed' disclaimer on the package, he doesn't fall into that category.

Sure, some dogs can tolerate this treat, but why take a chance on your pet's health and life?

I have a 12 year old Aussie Shepherd who has quite a sensitive stomach along with a couple of congenital issues which includes a narrowing of his intestine. This, along with his ability to ingest sand, left me paying large vet bills to relieve his constipation. One vet felt his prostate was very enlarged causing pressure on his bowel creating another blockage. She also diagnosed arthritis along his lower back between his hips and his tail which she felt would make it painful for the dog to 'assume the position' for a bowel movement. I have been using the product twice a day at 12 drops at a time now for about 8 months. For the first month I had problems with sometimes too loose of a stool, then too small and hard of a stool, but always he was able to get it out, something I have a thousand dollars worth in vet bills to prove that hasn't always been the case. By the second month he/we had him regulated and I haven't had a problem since. Very impressive. I will be reordering soon.

I purchased this treat ball for my 65lb Boxer and 62 lb Doberman. The Doberman got her lower jaw stuck in the holes of this ball. She was really scared and hard to get her to calm down long enough for me to help adjust it off. The ball went straight into the garbage after that. It probably isn't a problem for dogs with "fat" mussels like our boxer who probably couldn't get stuck but you just never know. There are plenty of other treat balls out there without risking it.

My dogs, and many of my client's dogs, inhale regular rawhides. I was always worried about them swallowing big chunks.

And I really hate flavored plastic bones, as well as veggie bones, since I've seen chunks of those being swallowed whole right in front of me a number of times.

These have been by far the best solution for me. It takes the dogs much longer to chew them, and they really have to work at it. For all my medium to heavy chewers, these are my first choice.

Having said that, nothing is 100% safe. After chewing up most of the bone, a very food motivated chewer could the remaining hard chunk which could be a serious problem. That's why I tend to choose the bigger sizes (8" or 10") over the little ones (4"), and take the bone away when it gets to a swallow-able size. I buy these in bulk. The value compared to other types of rawhides is huge, even without a bulk discount.

These come in flavors also. This plain style, as well as the the chicken flavored ones, have not been messy at all. The beef ones are not quite as tidy.

I am not sure where the previous reviewer got their information, but if you do actual research, on actual websites (some you have to subscribe to), Nature's Variety is a 5 star dog food INCLUDING the Instinct treats. This is why I feed NV food and treats to my purebread dog and cat. I would much rather feed my pet human grade food that is made as nature intended animals to eat...it's worth every extra penny I spend.

Here is an excerpt from Petsumerreport.com, which is one of the websites that gave this treat 5 stars: "Plus: The Nature's Variety representative told me the ingredients are human quality/grade. This food contains friendly bacteria (benefits the intestinal system and in turn the immune system of the pet); included in Guaranteed Analysis (company guarantees viable bacteria). Minus: Contains Garlic controversial ingredient."

While they did mention the use of garlic, the product was still rated 5 stars, and my dog has NEVER gotten sick off these biscuits (I only give him NV biscuits). They smell like actual food and have a nice consistency not "cardboard" like some pet treats made of ingredients you don't even recognize. You can easily break each treat into 3-4 pieces if using for training purposes.

I feel the product should actually be used by the reviewer in order to make a credible review of the product. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND ALL NATURE'S VARIETY PRODUCTS, based on ACTUAL use!!!!! Give them a try, your dog will thank you :-)

I love these treats, everything about them is good. The ingredients are fantastic, not too expensive, (although not exactly cheap), they're easy to split up but don't end up all crumbled at the end of the box. they even *smell* good! and my dog loves them. 11 oz is a good size.

I've tried 3 of the 4 flavors, far as I can tell he likes them all equally.

oh, and the reviewer below giving a warning, they are incorrect, garlic is toxic in concentrated amounts, not in a daily treat at the bottom of the ingredient list. If you fed enough of these treats for the garlic to be an issue, garlic would be the least of your problems. lol.

I thought this product was pretty good. My dog has allergies, so I'm always nervous about new treats, but she likes these, and it definitely improves her breath.
