Rexie seems repulsed by 4 & 5* kibble and canned dog foods. I have tried at least 7 brands....well, he loves Pegetables and I give him 2 a day according to suggestion for his weight. He only eats lamb, lean steak and chicken breast with some Synergy vegs and "Just Veggies" plus I give him a couple of other high end snacks that have high fiber. I also give him Solid Gold Vit and Min and a skin and coat supplement he looks much better on this new diet and his personality is blossoming. His coat is glossy and shimmers in the light and it is much softer and overall he looks so much better. I hope it is an OK diet he got so fussy that the vet said to give him whatever he will eat so I count calories and also make sure he doesn't get too much protein. But I have read that a healthy dog shouldn't have problems with protein consumption. Any suggestions are welcome.

I have a 3 yr old Cavalier King Charles. After testing, it was discovered that the poor thing is allergic to all animal proteins so I had to switch him to a vegetarian diet. (I know! What kind of dog is that!) Fortunately, 95% of his itchies are gone without having to do any shots.

In trying to find veggie food and treats, I tried Pegetables. I knew he liked them. But by the time we'd opened the 2nd bag, it was like these stupid things are crack! One night, I woke up at 5:00 a.m. to this strange tiny bark coming from the other side of the house. It wasn't his normal yippy-I'm-going-to-aggravate-the-cat bark or we-are-about-to-be-invaded-by-aliens bark. It was this tiny little strange noise. I got up to see what was happening. There he was at the base of the table where I keep these treats making this pathetic half yipping noise and looking at me. I thought OH H@LL NO! and refused to give the sad thing a treat at 5:00 a.m. That would have started us down the path of misery. But his behavior has been insane over these treats ever since. He practically MISbehaves because he wants them so badly.

Bottom line my dog CRAVES them!
