These are great treats for the dog that has skin allergies. My dog can not eat gluten, grains & proteins other than salmon or fish. They can be a little pricey, but good salmon is even pricey for human consumption, so why not treat your dog to a piece of heaven & give them something that's chocked full of omegas & great for their skin!

The pieces of dried salmon were a little too large for my little cat. There was no doubt that they were fresh dried salmon, they looked as if you put them in water they would swim away!

Adding a fish protein product to my dog's diet is a good thing. This product is very dehydrated and not a snack they (my Beagles) enjoy alone. It smells acceptable to me (not spoiled). I do refrigerate it for safety concerns though the package states this is not required. I break a small amount (teaspoon) up and add to high quality high protein dry with some cooked (softenned) carrots and mini green peas. They seem pleased and all body functions seem "normal"

This may not sound like a recommendation, yet it is.

I order this product along with other items and they arrived today. I was so happy until I open salmon treat. On the package it said "100% Whole Meat Treats Freeze-Dried Wild Salmon for Dogs and Cats". It looks quite oily, dried and brittle. However, the texture is NOT anywhere near other freeze dried products (fruits or meats) I ever have which is spongy. I'm not sure if it simply because this product has NOT been dried from fresh salmon (contain lots of water) then freeze and dried. In that case, ice crystal will be taken out leaving a spongy texture behind.

It appears that, if it ever freeze dried, this product has gone to other processings before. Perhaps, from dried or smoke dried. There's a sticker cover the entire back packaging label, so I can't tell if other ingredient(s) being added. As suspecious as I am, I test a little bit of it.

Pet owner beware, this product is VERY SALTY. I order this item for my cats and don't think it's a good idea to give them salty snack. What kind of mindset of manufacture to add so much salt to pet snack. My cats need to have as much water as they can, not to eat this kind of unhealthy salty snack.

Oh, I just see BEST BY at the bottom of a container. It's 25 SEP 2013. Ha, you give me only 1 month to use the product. Seriously!
