My Maltese Terrier and his siblings were happily crunching on these when I acquired him as a pup four years ago from a very loving Brazilian family. Original treats were his original treat. These are still his favorite food over anything. I feed him Natural Balance dog food rolls and Natural Balance kibble, but he wheedles me out of an original treat or two. The dog is in excellent health with clean teeth and appropriate body weight. Jack heartily endorses the Original Treat.

There are others on the market, but she isn't real happy with any replacements. So I really like the 40 oz size. Lasts all month. I also like the price. She likes having one of these when the family has a treat of some kind...one of the bunch. She's a good dog and knows she gets one every night around 7 pm. We call it "Poogy time"!!

I bought these for my elderly whippet (age 14). He likes them ok, but he sometimes throws up the red part. I only give them to him on a very limited basis.

They're not her favorite treat, but she'll work a bit for them and they're nice to mix things up a bit. Plus, I think you get a pretty good amount for your $$.

As an aside, my friend's dog won't eat these unless you crack them open for him first, so that the gooey center is immediately available.
