Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program Unfortunately, my dog has the issues this product is intended to help with. The pro of this product is that my dog absolutely LOVES them. She has repeatedly attempted to steal the bag off the counter after being given the bars, so she certainly likes the taste. However, I'm not positive how successful it is in resolving the problem that fiber should solve. Previously I have given my dog powerdered fiber supplement added to her food (which she doesn't love), but it was helpful with her gland issues. I haven't noticed a difference in that area since I started giving her these treats, and I'm nearing the end of the package (note: my dog is a 70-pound retriever/lab mix, so she moved through the bag at a pretty good speed!)

I have a dog that has anal gland issues and requires expressing almost every month. I decided enough was enough and started looking for alternatives to help her. I found these while browsing and figured I would give them a try since I heard pumpkin was great for their digestion. After receiving them, I gave them to both of my dogs and they ate them in no time flat and came back for more. They seem to be working from what I can tell. Definitely worth it!

Let me start by saying that the dog in this video has glands that fill quickly, and as a wee pup, her digestive system was so fragile we almost lost her. I call her my Million Dollar Baby, because we had the vet as our digestive detective. Every imaginable test and treatment, and she still was having watery stools. I also tried every natural option.

It was Pet Naturals of Vermont liquid digestive support that stabilized her. She also gets a grain-free diet and a dollop of pumpkin. At 2, she is happy and very healthy, but still gets the 'scoots' every so often.

If you're reading this, you have a similar situation, and want your four-legged family member happy, too. With that in mind, you won't be offended at the video, but PLEASE, if looking at a pup butt offends you, DON'T OPEN IT!

I don't actually express them, I just show where the glands are if you need to do it. It is an effective method if you are sqeamish about inserting a finger, or fearful of harming your pet.

For her, the Scoot Bars were not too helpful, but remember she has 'issues'! After eating the first one, she quicky threw up. The second one she kept down, but it actually made her stool softer. So why 4 stars instead of 3? I am certain that Scoot Bars would be perfect for most dogs. They contain the exact ingredients that most pups would need to keep the stool firm enough to express the glands naturally.

PS, My dog would be mortified to know her butt is in an online video review. Please do not tell her.

My dog also has anal gland problems, and this seems to have really helped him get control of it. Plus any time we run out he gets very upset as he loves them so much!

I could never afford to give her the full dose so it didn't work. I would not buy this product unless you have a very small dog, as you have to give 1 per 20 pounds, I have a hundred pound Lab.
