My dog is 23 lbs and 15 mos and loves to chew. I hate the smell when he kisses me after chomping on these hooves, but by the frequency of use I can tell it is a favorite with him. He spends hours getting the filling out and then weeks chomping on the edges. Good buy for the price and lasting capability to entertain.

I have a 65 pound Airedale terrier. He is a strong chewer. I got these thinking it would be a long time spending chew treat for him. He gobbled the mint filling out in no time flat. He then chewed on the hoof for about a week but we found that since his mouth is so big he liked to try to swallow the hoof. We had to really monitor him when he chewed on this. I gave up and gave it to my daughter for her 20 pound King Charles Cavalier/ Maltese mix. He loved it and it was the just the right size for him to chew on without worry of ingestion.

well my pup loved it. it started off as a great treat and he was very into it. unfortunately about 20 minutes into chewing on it he broke a piece off that was VERY sharp. i don't want to think of what all could have happened had he ingested that sharp piece. i threw out that piece and held the rest of the hoof in my hand and let him lick on the filling. he seemed confused as to why i wouldn't let him have it to himself but after a couple minutes he didn't care and went to town licking the mint filling. i plan on doing that with the other piece in the 2 pack. but alas, for the safety of my pup i would not recommend or buy again even though he loved it.

Try it anyway! My 70lb dog is addicted to these. Neither the mint nor the hoof have much of a smell at all to me. The filling disappears almost immediately, but he stays interested for days with one of these. This is a great alternative to the hollow/stuffed bones out there. My dog loves them too, but he can lose interest in them as the filling disappears. Not here.
