ATTENTION: Don't throw the treat away as others have, read below:

I first learned of this treat from a booth at the Portland Pet Expo, and it has turned out to be an excellent, safe chew for our golden retriever puppy. When we first gave it to her, she absolutely loved it and chewed it for 15+ minutes straight, which was quite an attention span for our then 11 week old puppy. The pet expo sold samples at a discount, but said the retail price for this size chew was ~$24, so I was glad to find it on amazon for so much less.

The himalayan chew is a combination of cow and goat cheeses, which is smoked for 7 months to produce a very hard chew which softens with puppy slobber. It does not stain, smell, or splinter. The only potential risk is a choking hazard as the chew gets small (what bone doesn't have this risk?). However, we learned a trick at the pet expo that most people here don't know:

DON'T throw away the treat. When it gets so small you worry about choking, take it away and let it dry then microwave it for 10-15 seconds. The small chunck will get 3+ times larger, and will be less dense as a result. Now it is safe again to give to your pet as a quick treat. This way there is no waste, and your pet enjoys every last bit of it.

EDIT: I have noticed it takes more like a minute in the microwave to fully expand. Your results may vary depending on the microwave power just keep an eye on it and stop when it is no longer expanding.

Now that we have had two himalayan chews around the house for five weeks, our golden isn't quite as crazy about it as when we first got it, but she will still happily chew it over most of her toys and treats, and she hasn't finished either one yet. She still won't chew it for more than 15-20 minutes at a time, so it has time to dry out and harden again between chewing sessions. For larger dogs and more agressive chewers, I would expect that it wouldn't last nearly as long since it will stay softer as they keep chewing for longer times.

I am now on my third package of Himilayan dog chews from Amazon. They are amazing and you can't beat the free shipping from the suppliers on Amazon! My search for a long lasting chew started when our lab/doberman puppy was only about 3-4 months old. I had read so many good things about bully sticks so I ordered them and then just about threw up when I smelled them! I tried to look over it, gave it to our pup (who loved it) but then not only did it smell while he was eating it, but his breath was stinky for a while afterwards! Plus, I'd say the bully stick didn't seem to last much longer than a regular (non-stinky) rawhide. Then I ordered the Himilayan dog chew. He wasn't sure how to approach it since it is literally rock hard. But, then he started scrapping it with his teeth. He isn't the type of dog to take big bites so he's never gotten any big hunks off of it. One chew last weeks since we usually save it for an after dinner snack/entertainment (1-2 hours at a time). Not only does the Himalyan dog chew last a really long time, it also barely smells at all unless you hold it to your nose! And, at that, it's just a smoked gouda type smell so it's not repulsive like a bully stick. Plus, it seems to keep our pups breath smelling much better than if he doesn't have it! We had actually taken a Himalayan dog chew with us on a road trip to my parents house and their dog (9 year old lab mix) actually snuck into our bag and stole the cheese! This is actually a very surprising thing because their dog has NEVER been a chewer. If given something hard, she actually just hides it and never eats it. So, to see her take the cheese and bite small pieces off, I knew she must have loved it! On our next visit I made sure to have an extra piece of cheese just for her. Needless to say, I cannot recommend trying this out enough! If it ends up your dog didn't like it, you just tried one more item in an attempt to make them happy. If they love it though, you will have found a great investment in your dogs health and happiness! Our pup LOVES his cheese!

I bought this at my local high end pet food shop for $9. I brought it home, and gave it to the pup on the patio. My dog is a 70 lbs lab/pit mix around 1 year old. The good: he loved it and didn't upset his stomach at all. The not so great: lasted about 90 minutes, in two sessions. I gave it to him on day one for an hour, and he finished about 30% of it, then I took it away and saved the rest for the next day, which only took him like half an hour to seal the deal (nothing left whatsoever). It's fun for a try, but at $9, I think I won't buy too many more.

I gave this to an eight month old chewing maniac boxer pup who can consume a bully stick in less than an hour. She loves it and chews it every chance she gets, nearly a week and she has barely put a dent in it. Very low odor as well.

My puppy LOVES these treats. I think she likes them more than any other treats that we've tried to date. Sadly, they are getting increasingly difficult to find locally, but so far, Amazon still stocks them. Thanks Amazon!

I'm no nutritional expert, but it would appear that these treats are healthy and nutritious. I find no indication of Chinese origin and that is extremely important nowadays since so many dogs have died from tainted Chinese products. Personally, I am willing to pay more if necessary, to be certain that the food and treats I give my puppy are safe and healthy.

Both the dog and the cat very much enjoyed this stuff. It's different sized pieces of dry, mildly smelly tripenot near as disgustingly scented as other tripe products I've tried! I'm going to stick to this brand, though on the back of the package it says "100% beef LIVER" for some reason ? Tripe is supposed to be stomach/intestines I thought... It looks and smells like it's actual tripe, perhaps it's just a mis-label from the company. Keeps well, doesn't have to be refrigerated and was easier for me to handle than other kinds I've tried. I feed my animals a RMB diet and this is an essential part of it!

... but the boys love them. I have 2 Brussels Griffons, one of whom has a bit of a delicate digestive system. These treats seem to work fine for him. I knew from reviews how smelly tripe is so that isn't really a problem. The pieces are pretty dang big for my little boys though so I have to use scissors to cut them into small pieces. Not a huge deal, but useful to know if you are buying for small dogs.

This has to be the most disgusting treat to smell that I could find.....and of course my dog thinks they are delicate morsels. Getting past being grossed out by the smell they are dry and cut up in treat sized pieces. He loves them, and given the smell he knows what's coming so he starts with all of the tricks he knows in order to score a treat. It makes for a great training treat for those that need very high value treats as rewards.

Like the other reviewer, I neglected to look at the size of this toy (my fault). Although, I did notice that the product description says 15 lbs. but the shipping weight is 1.1 oz which seems to be a mistake. I have a Boston Terrier (10 lb.) and it's certainly on the small side for her. She does love the toy, though! She's an avid chewer and she loves treat toys like this. It bounces on our tile floor too and it's pretty funny to watch her chase it. I think I'll stick with larger Orbee toys going forward (they're great), but this one is durable and adorable for smaller pups. I also like that it smells minty and that I can toss it in the dishwasher. It cleans up great!

My labrador seems to like this toy. The hole is a little small, so stuffing it with wet food is out of the question. However, it is the perfect size for her kibble, and it dispenses out at a reasonable rate and not too easily. I contacted the company about a small defect on the toy (worried it might start tearing), and they offered to replace it if it started breaking. As such, this is a company I would buy from again, as they seem to stand behind their product.

I have two super strong chewers, and I generally really like Planet Dog toys. But I was very disappointed because this one only lasted a few hours. They almost immediately got the green "leaves" off of the top and began tearing the toy apart from the top down. Definitely not worth the money.

My French Bulldog LOVES this toy. I also have to limit time with it or she would not sleep or eat. She will choose this toy over her food and she loves her food....but she loves the raspberry more. Only problem is now that she is bigger and has a harder bite she splits her raspberry. I have contacted the company to see if they can make a "tuffer" version for stronger chewers as this is only rated 4 out of 5 for hardness. I don't know what I will do if I can't get them to do it....she is obsessed with this toy and all I have to do is spell R A S P and she KNOWS she gets her toy to play with. I have not once had to put a treat in the treat spot....the toy itself is the ultimate small dog toy...must be the texture and she mouths and rubs her lips and gums all over the toy.

I love it! It is adorable to see your dog chewing on a giant berry, and the treat spot is big enough to put little pieces of dog food in there to keep the dog occupied and playing with it. Plus, my dog loves the texture of the berry. It smells like mint!! I am going to get more Orbee products in the future. I have a lot of dog toys and I am impressed enough with this one enough to get online and tell ya'll about it!

I have three of these Store-N-Feed units and we just love them for our Greyhounds. I've NEVER had water or moisture get inside where the kibble is stored. The units are perfect for traveling too. The weight of the kibble keeps them from moving around. Yes, moisture can get under the stainless steel bowls and, if there is a bit of kibble there, it can get icky, but it's easy to clean and this shouldn't be a problem for most people. I recommend these units without reservation.

Bought this for my American Eskimo. He's about 17 18 inches tall from floor to his shoulder. I use the feeder at the 12 inch height. It's a good height for him. He's not the biggest eater, and would often leave a lot of his food in the bowl. I've had this feeder for about two weeks now, and I have noticed that he finishes all his food right away. No more leaving food until it is dry and yucky. I don't know if this is because he likes using the raised bowls better than the bowls on the floor (or it is something else), but I am happy that he is finishing his meals.

I decided to buy a raised feeder because I read that it can aid with digestion. My dog often has diahhrea. He is on special food for a sensitive stomache; he gets antibiotics when he needs them; I try not to let him eat grass, etc. but still he gets diahhrea, seemingly without explanation. I read that raised bowls help digestion, so I decided to give this a try. I don't expect this to be a cure, but I figured it could at least be one more thing in his favor.

When I started shopping around, I really wanted to buy one of the pretty wrought-iron raised feeders with ceramic bowls. There are some really beautiful feeders out there, and I was willing to pay the extra money. However, after fiddling with different options in the pet store and on-line, I finally opted for the our pets store-n-feed. It is not as decorative as some of the other feeders on the market, but it is the most practical, and I am very happy with my purchase. I use the bottom storage compartment for items that I don't use everyday, but would take up space in my kitchen cabinets, such as extra canned food. The stainless steel bowls are light and can go in the dishwasher, and I don't need to worry about the chipping or breakage that would happen if they were ceramic.

I had not intended to use the self-watering system, because I work from home and I change his water-bowl frequently throughout the day -but once I tried it, I realized what a handy bonus this is! Now, I am assured that he will have fresh water throughout the day, without my needing to change it. I just change the water in the morning, affix the bottle, and he is set all day long. The manufacturer suggests using a 2-liter bottle, but I have found that a 1-liter works just as well. And I think my dog likes to see the bubbles as he drinks! Also, since I am using the self-watering system, I now actually have two bowls to use for his food which means that he can be eating out of one bowl, while the other is in the dishwasher. The self-watering system has been an unexpected plus.

This feeder is much less expensive than others, and yet offers so much more: practicality, convenience, durability. I'm so glad I didn't get swayed by the prettier feeders - And, know what? it actually looks just fine in my kitchen. Wish I bought this sooner.

The dog likes thishe no longer has to stoop as low. We love itgreat storage, looks less cluttered than the old bowls did, it's easy to just scoop food out of the base with the bowl. Travelling just involves picking up the whole thing and carrying to the car. We're very happy purchasers!

As for the review complaining about moldy foodI honestly don't see how this could happen without you noticing. We remove the water and food bowls daily to fill themthe water bowl to take it to the sink, and the food bowl to scoop kibble out of the base. They nest into separate depressions in the top of the lidso the food below is sealed off.

There IS an extra channel for water spillage (and I assume, evaporation) on one side and not on the other, so as long as you place the water bowl on the side with the extra channel, and clean out the dog bowls on a regular basis, I can't forsee any problems.

I think this was worth every penny. We go camping and this is a great way to take enough food for the trip. I like that it gets higher as the dog grows, right now ours is a puppy and will grow to about 80-90 pounds, raising the food bowl to prevent bloat, stomach twisting is great. I haven't had any problems with the bowls rusting.

Want Store-N-Feed Adjustable Elevated Feeder Discount?

I got this for the adjustable height and the more controlled bowl location. The storage was not on my mind until after I got it home and realized it would benefit the unit for stability. My only real issue is that you have to remove the bowls to access the food. That's fine if you feed when the water needs changing, but otherwise you have to move both bowls to get to the stored food. Could be messy, or at least inconvenient. Worse if you're using the bottle feeder, which works great, but again is sort of in the way for removing the top and getting to the food. The only other issue with the food storage is having to stoop over for it. Some people may find bending down to do this a bit difficult depending on their physical abilities. It is a decent thought and definitely cleaner and more controlled than having two separate bowls on the floor which move around when the dogs feel like watching me clean up water. So far this has been very stable and it looks much easier for the fellas.

Pros:

Good height for medium and large dogs

Decent stability, increased if used for food storage

Bottle self-water feature nifty

Easy to clean and maintain

Cons:

Have to remove bowls to get to food if using the storage feature

Bowls are well seated in their spots, could spill water putting the bowl back in (small issue). Easily fixed if they added finger holes on either side.

Top can be very difficult to fit back over the bottom once you slide it off. This depends on how it was stored at the pet store. The top did not want to easily fit back over and slide down onto the base.

Design:

Plastic with stainless steel bowls

Fairly generic. Could be a downside for some people as they are not the prettiest things on the shelf. Could use some texture or alternate colors to liven up the matching

*Note: the following is a non-professional assessment based upon research papers that have been made available to the public. I am not a credentialed canine nutritionist, nor do I hold affiliation with any competing company in the industry. This is my honest opinion as a concerned pet owner.*

At first glance, Full Moon treats are fantastic. They don't contain any of the usual suspects (artificial flavors, corn, soy etc.), the ingredients are sourced from the good ole' USA, and they are made with human-grade meat. If you're not informed about dog food-grade meats, I suggest a few internet searches be warned, you will be horrified at what you have been feeding your furry friend!

With a reasonable amount of knowledge under my belt about canine nutrition, I felt comfortable giving these treats a try with our two rescue pups. It wasn't until the second purchase from a local store that I started to put two and two together. When our younger pup started throwing up here and there, I wasn't overly concerned at first sometimes he'll swallow some fur from a stuffed animal toy and throw it up (perfectly normal and even desirable natural instinct) and around the same time he threw up in the car. Nasty yellow bile it was, and initially we thought he might be developing car sickness. You can imagine that with these circumstances, our first thought wasn't the new treats we were feeding sparingly.

After purchasing the second bag of chicken jerky from full moon, I started to notice that within 12 hours of eating a piece of Jerky, Nico started throwing up. Uncharacteristically, I hadn't checked out the company before purchasing them, and I hadn't checked Amazon reviews. I wish I had. Jumping on the internet, I tried to find some information about Full Moon. None. This was the first red flag. I then came over to Amazon to research reviews, and lo and behold found two reviews mentioning dogs vomiting and getting sick on these treats. The rest went in the trash, and I put my Google-fu to work.

The ONLY suspect ingredient in these treats is green tea extract. At first I though the vinegar might be the issue, but found plenty of research on the benefits of vinegar for dogs (in moderation), but after trawling through several research papers (links in the comments of this review) I came across a study of the effects of green tea extract, tested on both dogs that were both fasted (empty stomach) and non-fasted (full stomach). In fasted dogs, the following was found:

---------------------------------------------------------

"Recent chronic toxicity studies performed on green tea extracts in fasted dogs have revealed some unique dose-limiting lethal liver, gastrointestinal, and renal toxicities. Key findings included necrosis of hepatic cells, gastrointestinal epithelia and renal tubules, atrophy of reproductive organs, atrophy and necrosis of hematopoietic tissues, and associated hematological changes."

Green tea extract-induced lethal toxicity in fasted but not in nonfasted dogs, Wu KM, Yao J, Boring D. PubMed (2011)

---------------------------------------------------------

Another very similar research paper stated:

---------------------------------------------------------

"All three groups of animals being administered PPE on an empty stomach exhibited gastro-intestinal irritation as evidenced by vomiting, mild diarrhea/loose stool and/or red material in the run occasionally. These symptoms were totally absent when PPE was not administered on an empty stomach."

Exposure and Toxicity of Green Tea Polyphenols in Fasted and Non-Fasted Dogs, I.M. Kapetanovic,a J.A. Crowell,a R. Krishnaraj,b A. Zakharov,b M. Lindeblad,b and A. Lyubimovb PubMed (2009)

---------------------------------------------------------

Now, I'm not a certified canine nutritionist, nor am I a researcher of any kind. I can however, with some certainty, now say that the only correlating factor between the occurrences of vomiting from Nico (each episode of two throwings up two weeks apart) was that all four times he was given one of these Full Moon jerky strips he was vomiting within 12 hours. Whether it was on a empty stomach, I cannot recall, however if these research papers are to be given credibility, we simply do NOT know whether green tea extract is entirely safe for dogs yet.

Because I am NOT an expert in this field, I have awarded this product two stars rather than one there is some merit in the human-grade chicken and lack of artificial products and other fillers. That said, I cannot recommend this product without strong reservations due to the effect that it had on one of our dogs. Poppy, our slightly older rescue pup, showed no external signs of gastrointestinal distress. She grew up on the streets and may have a more developed immunity to toxic foods, an important factor in my mind.

I cannot recommend these treats at this time. If Full Moon wants to be taken seriously in the human-grade, premium treats industry, I think it's high time they step out of the shadows and get their website finished. It's poor form for a company to be in production on a national scale without information that is easily obtained by the public. If they would like to publicly address their customers' concerns about illness induced by their treats, I will gladly offer them space on my website to do so. Until then, this is a product to avoid.

Was pleased to come across this product while at Walmart last night less than 12.00...made in the USA not china... no gmo corn, wheat or soy, no artificial preservatives or flavors, grain and gluten free, human grade ingreds Chicken-(raised caged free on family farms in USA according to package), Brown Rice Syrup, vinegar and green tea extract that's it all good things from what I can tell my dogs have missed their "jerky" type treats since I quit buying them as they all seemed to come from China and were making dogs very ill across the globe. Picked some up and they were a big hit with all my Boxers! So, I give it a big 2 thumbs up and will happily serve these to my dogs unless horror stories start pouring in like they did on the ones either from China or using ingreds from that country. This must be a fairly new product as they have a website address on the package but the site is not up and running yet...? That is the only odd thing to me but the product throws up no red flags to me.

Got these for my 2 year old shiba inu. She has had some bad reactions to treats in the past but she loved these, and she's happy and healthy after eating full moon treats for a few weeks. I'll probably order more. I like the clear ingredients section and the all natural antibiotic free info, especially when so many treats are passing themselves off as "healthy" or "natural." These seem like the real deal.

I am a dog trainer. And I use this clicker to work with my students and my own dogs. I love it! I am used to using box type clickers. And being a klutz I hate having to chase them around everywhere. I have turned many students on to these types. And this one also has lasted the longest. I have had it almost a year now! It is pretty amazing! For everyday use and for durability it gets 5 stars!

Upon receiving these clickers I immediately inspected them for quality. The build is stronger than most clickers I have used. Personally I feel it could have been left without the tab on the end and just left round with the strap in back, but I am not going to dock it a star over that. My second test was to click it. It was much quieter than all the other clickers I have used, but my puppy came running so it was loud enough for her to hear it in the next room.

The finger band on the back of the clicker is an absolutely amazing concept. I am constantly trying to manage treats and the clicker in one hand and often drop the clicker and chasing a clicker on the end of a wrist band while holding treats and clicking your pup at the right time is just too much of a hassle. Having the clicker strap to one of my fingers is very convenient and allows for me to reach for more treats while never having the clicker leave my hand. I sometimes have to click her from my pocket and this clicker gets the job done quickly with its ability to strap onto your finger.

Great clicker for the money! I was not disappointed at all!

I just bought these a few days ago from a local vendor and paid more, glad to know I can save a few $ here.

So, I have 2 boxers, one is 7 months, the other 5 years. The 7 month old is all about chewing and nothing I have found keeps her occupied like this treat. Both dogs are crazy for these. What I like most is that they don't leave a stain on the carpet, other than normal dog slobber you get when they play with a chew toy.

At one a day, it wont hit the pocket book so hard.

Well, these are certainly pieces of wood for animals to chew on. Big deal. I can just go pick up some contaminated wood outside, cover it in rubbing alcohol, and throw it in my oven. That cooks the germs right off. Animals don't need stupid shapes and colors for their chewables.

That's not my main problem with this product, however. These "wood treats" are specifically labeled as "fruit flavored". What a stinking lie! I tasted them myself. Do you know what they taste like? Wood. Just wood. Not even wood from a fruit-producing plant. Nope, this just has a distinctly boring wood flavor.

I advise you to save your money and avoid this bogus product.

I have 2 boxers and mix a 1/2 a can along with their dry food for each... They just love it! I tried using one can each but it's too high in protein and they get the runs, so be sure to experiment with the right mix...

The dog food itself is quite good and highly rated, but the case we received contained several dented cans. None were punctured, but it seemed curious to me that 12 cans encased in plastic wrap would have dents on the cans in the middle, rather than the outside cans. In addition, when the cans were opened, the food was already shrunk from the sides, which could signal that something had happened, perhaps a temperature change while stored, or something that happened in transit. All cans were within the use-by date and none of the contents proved to be problematic for our dog. The cans were within the time shown on the use-by date. I got the feeling perhaps these were dented cans that had been returned to the distributor and were re-packaged and re-sold. I won't take any more chances with the on-line pet food providers and will spend the extra money to see what I'm buying at our local pet center.

Other than the smell (which really only lasts a little while) the food is really quality for our dog. She loves it. My daughter's dog also loves this food. Based on the ingredients, it has the right stuff to keep a dog healthy and happy. My dog's coat has really improved since I started using this for her. I have also tried the turkey and my dog loves that as well. I don't have to coax her into eating. It's a little pricey but worth it when you know your loved pet is getting quality food.

...but this particular flavor stinks to high heavens!! I switched immediately. I'm trying the use it up since the dogs like it well enough but I have to wait until after dinner since it smells so bad.

I like this food for my dogs. Mixes well with dry food without being too wet. My dogs seemed to enjoy it. I tried something else recently (Nature's Balance Vegetarian Wet Food) and will switch back to this product when it runs out.

Think twice before buying this product. While the company claims it has never received any prior negative "reports," about this N-Bone product, my niece recently spent in excess of $4,000 on emergency surgery for her Doberman, as a portion of this product was found undigested in his stomach, creating blockage of the intestine, causing the dog to go into shock and need major emergency surgery to remove the product. The product is advertised as edible and totally digestable will not cause intestinal blockage NOT TRUE! Unfortunately, the company has not been very helpful or responsive this happened on May 9th they are still "investigating" (i.e., stalling) after two months. If I could give this product and the company a zero I would. So please think twice before allowing your dog to have one of these "edible" (NOT) treats.

I guess my Malamute liked it. I like the size and hoped to present to her as a nice reward. I found the empty wrapper in the living room and deduced she served herself. I plan on ordering more.

I like this product very much. I cut it into small cubes and give a small amount twice a day to my dog.

First Impression: Natural Balance Dog Food Rolls are like puppy crack. Dad buys the roll and cuts it up into finger sized pieces. Then he uses his Food Saver to vacuum seal the left over pieces of the roll. When Dad trains me, he uses pieces of the roll as treats. He keeps them in a ziploc bag in his pocket when we go on walks. I didn't like the Turkey flavor as much; they were drier and less tasty. I would recommend the Natural Balance Dog Food Roll Lamb Formula to any Rottweiler, but I won't share mine.

Conclusion: Absolutely the best training treat I've ever had! Liver treats are good, but they can be too rich and upset my stomach. Plus dad says these are WAY cheaper than the liver treats.
