I have 2 black lab mix dogs (littermates). They are now 2 years old. They didn't tell me when I got them that part of the mix was beaver. These dogs can chew anything. If it squeaks, it takes on average 10 seconds from being new to being destroyed. Don't even get me started on toys that have stuffing. Within the last two weeks, I've started allowing them to be uncrated in my house without me there. Previously, they were completely untrustworthy, but I feel really guilty crating them while I'm at work. And I thought they were acting more grown up. Not chewing my stuff, just theirs. So, I came home one day to find a highlighter destroyed (on carpeting, of course). The next day the victim was one of their dog beds that they'd always left alone. So, out of desperation I tried this product (and paid way more than the price at Amazon at a local pet store). These things are AWESOME. They keep their attention for hours and a treat lasts for about 2 days. My one dog loves hers so much that she's like obsessed with it. And the material it's made of seems to be unchewable to them (which I initially worried about, having not found anything in nature or manmade that they couldn't destroy). I love these things.

I have 2 retrievers (7 months and 1 year) and they are basically 60 pounds of raging teeth. They destroy virtually every dog toy (not to mention legos, briefcases, shoes, ethernet cables, small trees, socks, ... you get the picture) that comes through the house in about 10 minutes. They have never been interested in Kongs and rawhides just only hold their attention for so long.I found these at the store last week and bought a couple. My dogs won't leave them alone. They love the "snack balls" that come in them and they withstand hours and hours of chewing. Even my 13-year-old sheltie who doesn't even like chew toys likes these things... My only complaint? The petsmarts in my area can't keep them in stock so I have to order online.
If your dog/puppy is a chewing machine... get these toys... lots of them... keep them in the crate, the living room, anywhere your dog hangs out. The shoes you save may be your own!
BTW, to get them interested, you want to find something soooooooo doggie delicious for the inside... give your dog a taste and smell of that before you stuff it in the middle. Then stuff it in the middle and put the "caps" on. also, be sure to let the caps "dry" before giving them to your dog or the caps pop right off (you have to moisten them to make the pop in easier)

I have a three year old, 60 lbs black lab that can destroy most anything. She plucked that treat plug right out of the treat ball ball in less than 10 minutes and devoured the treat within 15. Not good.HOWEVER! I placed an apple slice within the middle compartment of the ball and she was challenged for a little less than an hour to get all the apple pieces out. If anything entertains her for more than a half an hour, it's amazing!

I went on Amazon looking for some type of dog chew or hard food that would take a long time for my dog to get through, but not so hard that she would give up. She's about 25 pounds, active, but won't play with any toys, and can get down a rawhide in ten minutes. I wanted to find something to cut into her boredom and downtime, but not add a lot of calories.The first day I put it together (took about one minute) and rolled it across the floor. She slowly took after it, investigated, and I went to make dinner. I enjoyed my first dinner at home in about a year that didn't involve my dog staring at me hoping for a handout. She just obsessed over the ball, licking it, and grinding at it with her teeth. After dinner I checked it, and she had made what appeared to be almost negligible progress on the treat. We watched a movie in peace (other than this constant weird panting/slurping noise from the other room). At some point, we realized she had been working on this thing for about three hours. My wife checked her mouth, she was afraid her gums would be bleeding or that her teeth would be ground down to the gums. But no sign of damage. We took it away from her and put it on top of the fridge, and she sat there staring up at the fridge for about half an hour.
I'm now on my third day, about three hours a day, still working on the first two discs that fit on opposite sides of the ball. I think maybe she's gotten through about half of it. She's actually penetrated one of the discs with a hole that goes all the way through. She's obsessed. While she has it, she doesn't want to do anything else. If I go to pet her (which she normally loves) she treats me as an irritant keeping her from her ball. Want to walk (normally her favorite thing)? Nope. Maybe after I'm done with this ball in another 16 hours I'll walk. I wonder how long she would be on this ball if I let her? Her jaws must be cramping up. I get the feeling I could give it to her, go to bed, and wake up to see her with bloodshot eyes still working on the ball. It's like crystal meth for dogs.
Oh my god, while I'm writing this my dog accidentally rolled the ball under a table and she can't get to it. She looks like an alcoholic staring at a drink they can't reach. I actually feel sorry for her. It's almost 9pm and she's been on this thing since 6pm.
Anyway, for my dog, this was exactly what I was looking for. I give it 5 stars.

Many are used to getting the "tried and true" Black Drawing Salve, Ichthammol in a tube. My earliest memories are of the Druggist scooping it into a a small round tin and labelling it. With Ichthammol being more difficult to find at local Drug Stores, I'm glad to get this "industrial size". It seems to last forever and is a medicine cabinet staple.
A glob on a band-aid strategically placed on bug bites, boils or splinters, softens the boo-boo and brings the splinter, stinger or pus to the surface usually within 24 hours. Just be aware the oily, tarry salve WILL STAIN clothes, bedding etc. and NEEDS to be covered.

So every since I was little my skin hates me, well hates bugs biting me and hates things that cause me to get "boils" (aka a large zit type ordeal that is usually brought on by sweating and things clogging pores). I always used black drawing salve (that was 20% icthammol) and it would quickly draw things out of my skin.Well earlier this month I had the unfortunate experience of mosquitoes biting my feet (somehow over the past two or so years I avoided it, which amazes me b/c I live in the SE), any ways I had a lovely allergic reaction that swelled up and hurt. Went to our local herb shoppe and the stuff they are selling as black drawing salve" doesnt contain itchammol!!!! So I refused to buy it since it wasnt the same.
Checked other stores and couldn't find the legit black drawing salve anywhere! Thankfully found this and did the overnight (thx amazon prime!) b/c by that point the bites beside my toes had my foot swollen and red up to my ankle! Got this the following afternoon and started slavering it all over my foot, and by the next morning the redness was just around the tiny bites. By that evening nothing was raised and a simple scab was over each bite. I can tell this summer is going to be a bad one for mosquitoes, so I'm very thankful to already have this in my bathroom cabinet waiting for the next incident!

When I was growing up in the 60s and 70s, our family always had ichthammol in the medicine cabinet. My most vivid memory of it was the time I got a staff infection and boil from shaving under my arms. My mother spread ichthammol on it and covered it with a bandage, and in a day or two it had opened and drained. She also used it on a deep splinter my father had, and in a day or two it had drawn out the splinter and all the infection.This is the same tar-like goop I remember from my childhood, in a very large container. Nice big jar that will last along time for home use probably for a 6 months to a year. If you have a problem with boils this stuff really works. After taking a shower I rub some on my feet and put on thick socks for about an hour, when I take the socks off my feet are nice and soft. We have several German Shepherd Dogs who despite all being related have a wide variety of coats, sizes, head structures, preferences and temperaments. In the past on commercial cereal dog foods this one was picky or that one had a coat issue. NOT ANYMORE. Not since we switched to TASTE OF THE WILD. Finally, a food that I am comfortable serving to them for quality, they all DEVOUR within minutes leaving none to waste and all their skin and coat issues are gone. YEAH!! yes, this dog food SEEMS to be a bit higher cost than the commercial cereal dog foods, however in terms of reduced odor, reduced coat issues, reduced skin issues, increase vitality, increased vigor therefore increased health it's allll worthwhile!Even though we currently have full grown dogs I still mix in a bag of Taste of the Wild Puppy formula every few bags, especially in the fall and winter months to give them extra energy. The puppy formula is the perfect boost for our very senior dogs. In the future when we have a puppy I will most definitely consider feeding them TOTW Salmon Puppy formula for healthy development.
Our dogs love the salmon flavor the best though they obviously enjoy Taste of the Wild over all other brands of dog food. A family of mallard ducks moved into our pond for the summer we were giving them a few bits of TOTW Salmon daily, as well. My Siberian Husky mix, 6 month old puppy has been eating Blue Buffalo Wilderness since we got her at 2 months. We had noticed around 4 months that she was too too skinny; she wasn't eating her food, just nibbled a little a each day. Since adopting my two puppies it took me a while to settle on a food for them. I tried Blue Buffalo which they seemed okay with but didn't love, I tried Science Diet healthy puppy (which I get at a huge discount from the vet clinic I work for) but they didn't like it and it made them gassy. I tried small bags of Chef Micheals and Rachel Ray both of which they loved to eat, but were a little lower in nutrition than I wanted to give them. The younger of my puppies was adopted with a large stab wound on his side which triggered a case of demodex. Working at a clinic I know that dogs with skin issues generally benefit from a fish based food as the omegas and fish oil are very good for skin and coats. My mom, who also has two new puppies and I were discussing foods and this option came up. We each ordered a bag she went with the Buffalo versionTaste of the Wild Grain-Free High Prairie Dry Dog Food for Puppy, 30-Pound Bag. I chose the pacific stream because the base is Alaskan salmon. I like the grain free aspect because with my two rescues, who knows what type of allergies they have... it also has probiotics which we recommend for puppies as well. They aren't as good as the probiotics in Royal Canin but they are better than nothing, it helps to keep little tummies from being upset. The ingredients are excellent and the price for the food is very reasonable for what is in the food.I'm on bag number 5, and both puppies have grown sleek healthy coats, they have healthy skin and apart from a little gas from one of them we have minimal stools with minimal odor.
Yes I know that the true manufacturer of this food is Diamond I also know that several dog foods have been recalled over the years, not just Diamond's. It is a chance that I take whenever I buy any food for my dogs or myself. Since the last large recall, I believe that government oversight and testing have increased for all dog food manufacturers.
Until they are off of puppy food I will continue feeding this to my two puppies.

These seem like the average tennis ball but hard. They don't "squeeze" so my Doberman pup perfers her other tennis balls that do squeeze and squeek. They are good for a ball to just throw in the yard. The reason for only three stars is she never chooses to play with these on her own and will always pick something else every time. I have recently adopted my son's cat and have spent the last few months educating myself about cats. After learning that most cat foods are too high in carbs I decided to change his food supply. Transitioning him was easy, lucky me!! Over time I've bought various brands of grain free cat food, both dry and wet. Most he ate, but some he just picked at. Then I came across the wellness brand and bought all their varieties. He loves them, some flavors more than others, but he'll eat them. I recently bought wellness core and bingo!...we have a winner here. He absolutely loves this food and wipes his plate clean every time; something he has never done with any other brand. He especially loves the chicken, turkey and chicken liver. The minute I put this down in front of him he doesn't come up for air until it's all gone. It makes me happy to see him enjoy his food so thoroughly. His coat has developed a nice sheen to it and he has lost his excess weight. I'm glad that he prefers this food but even if he didn't, it doesn't say anything negative about this brand. Cats have preferences just like us. This is one of the best canned, grain free foods out there. I highly recommend it.

The pet food industry can be one of the most infuriating as you start doing research and discovering what trash manufacturers (and the vets who get paid off by the manufacturers) push onto the unsuspecting public. For reference, don't ask your vet do some Internet research at sites like, for example, . What you'll find is that even the supposed "high-end" lines from basically every major supermarket label are horrible for your fuzzy friends. People who trust the marketing or trust their vets overpay and feed their cats foods that are full of carcinogens, cheap ingredients that are inappropriate for a cat's digestive system, and byproducts that provide nothing of value and are basically a way to make cheap profit off of literal garbage. It's a tragedy, as these same cats end up with shorter lifespans, kidney problems, UTIs, cancer, and a host of other issues, all of which could have been avoided by a high quality food.This is an A-Grade food. What you'll find here is very high protein content, many meat meals, good carbs and oils, and no grains, which is great as a cat is not an omnivore, it's a carnivore, and it simply does not need grains. It has 50 percent protein, which is among the highest you'll see in cat food. The first 4 ingredients are all meats.
What you will NOT find here is the kind of junk you'll see in things like Purina One and Science Diet byproducts (aka beaks, feathers, bird feet), brewers rice (aka the waste product from making beer), wheat flour (a leading cause of pet allergies), corn gluten (a cheap waste of space), and things like "liver flavor" (because they don't want to pay for the real thing). I didn't just pull those ingredients out of the air I was reading the ingredients list of Purina One. It's pathetic.
Don't feed your cats trash. Pay a little more to feed them good food now, and they'll lead longer, healthier, more satisfied lives as a result. It's worth it.

In April of last year our cat was diagnosed with diabetes. Our vet started him on insulin twice a day and asked that we bring him in for testing once a month. This didn't sound right to me because a human diabetic tests almost every day. We asked permission to self test. We started testing him in the morning and at night before feeding him. Petco has the same food online for 38.93 and free shipping over 49 dollars. Just passing this along.As for the food...my cats would vomit after eating all the time and my vet put them on some expensive prescription food. The prescription food didnt' help the vomiting. I did research and found this food to be grain free...and after feeding it to my cats they haven't vomitted since.
Next time you go to the pet store look on the back of every cat food and you will see the second ingredient as either rice, grain, corn, etc.
When was the last time you saw a tiger eating rice? Exactly my point! You will see a difference in the softness of your cats fur after feeding them this food for a while. Try it out!

I can't say enough about this cat food! My fifteen year old cat is diabetic and has been on insulin since July. While he is not completely off it YET, I have reduced his insulin by two thirds and hope that he'll be able to be completely off. The benefits don't stop there. I have two other cats one that used to throw up every day and one that has no current health issues of any kind. My kitty that used to get sick, for some reason, every day, has only had two episodes of throwing up since I changed her to the core cat food two months ago.
