Reading the reviews for this product I noted that there were very mixed reviews. Some had pets that really seemed to like this product and others that showed no interest whatsoever. Since I need to find something for one of my cats who is having problems with scratching herself excessively, I figured that I would give it a try. Well both of my cats took a look and decided that this was not anything that they wanted to ingest. One just looked at it and walked away. The other put it in her mouth a few times and decided it was not what she wanted. I will not purchase this again. I do not recommend it to anyone. It is not a huge investment if you do decide to give it a try... just don't have any expectations if choosing to buy this product for the first time.

I have two black cats, one with a silky smooth coat, and the other with a more bristled coat that would rust if he sat in a sunny window for too long. After giving them these vitamins for a few weeks, they are both noticeably softer, and the cat whose fur had faded is jet black and shiny again. Not to mention, they LOVE them and meow at me until they each get one. I would definitely recommend these!

I was excited about finding these however my cats did not share my enthusiasm for these treats. Out of my four cats only two of them would even touch these and that only lasted a few days. I threw away most of two bags (different flavors)once the "newness" wore off and the kitties lost interest. These treats are very hard and I had to cut in half them with kitchen shears to give the cats a manageable piece. I do NOT have small cats! One is 13# and one is over 10#, the treats are just very hard to eat. I would not recommend nor purchase again.

These treats smell good. I actually bought them for my rabbits because I didn't know dogs eat pumpkin, and like it. When the rabbits hear me open the package they run to the cage door and climb over each other to be the first one to get a treat. And, the dog loves them too, although he is jealous of the rabbits so I don't know if he eats them because he likes them or because he doesn't want the rabbits to get any. I actually ate one myself to see what the fuss was about only to find out they are rather bland, but the crunchiness was nice. As long as my pets are happy, then I am happy. I purchased these fruit treats for my dogs for the first time and they just love them. They are all natual and healthy too. They are small in size which I like because of the size of my dogs. I brought 2 flavors just to try and they loved both of them. I would recommend these for any size dog.

I ordered what I thought was five "4" packs of Smartbones medium size. What arrived was five "single" packs of the Smartbones medium size. The price for a four pack was a little more than half the local store price for the same items.... But for a single bone it works out to more than double the cost. I don't know if the problem is with the web/computer system or if the packer simply grabbed the wrong items. As I couldn't find a way to contact Amazon my only choice was to return the items. I'm afraid to reorder as I can't be certain the same mistake will not reoccur. Too bad as the price would be good and my dog loves the product.

Purina One Beyond is the top-of-the line when it comes to Purina's dog food product lines and a great middle of the road dog food when you compare to the whole dog food market we usually alternate between the lamb and the chicken to give our dog variety. It is better than the bottom shelf varieties in terms of whole ingredients and less fillers. It is an affordable option if you want a pretty good, relatively healthful dog food without spending a fortune on designer dog foods.

As far as I can tell by comparing the ingredients in Purina One Beyond with lower tier dog foods (specifically I compared Purina One Beyond with Purina One SmartBlend Dog Chicken Rice, 8-Pounds), what sets this dog food apart is that they don't use as many corn and soybean fillers. I have also noticed that many of the cheaper products contain more animal meal (animal meal = crushed up carcass including the bone), and to compensate add "animal digest" to help your pet digest the food, whereas this product and more expensive products contain less animal meal and no animal digest. That suggests that the cheaper products may need this "animal digest" enzyme supplement in their food or else the food won't be very well digested by your pet (probably at least in part due to the animal meal and corn products). One anecdotal piece of evidence that supports the hypothesis that the lower tier dog foods are less easily digested is that once my husband accidentally bought a cheaper bag of dog food, also from Purina, and our dog was extremely gassy the entire time she was on it. A bit gross, but I point that out because it is certainly evidence that she was not digesting it very well.

Purina claims this product has no fillers, but I guess that depends on what you define as a "filler" brewer's rice, for example, is the second ingredient, ahead of barley which is in the title of the dog food, and has more nutrients. Brewer's rice is the little rice fragments that break off from when they mill rice to make white rice, and they separate out the pretty whole grains of rice from the broken pieces to make a prettier product for human consumption. From the little reading I've done it seems to me it has about the same amount of nutrition as regular white rice, which is less than brown rice, and certainly less than barley. However, I think it still may be better and more easily digestible than corn products.

Overall, great compromise for a relatively healthful dog food if you don't have the budget to spend a fortune feeding your dog! I am mostly comparing this product with cheaper products. On the higher end, there are definitely products that would be even more healthful for your dog but they come with a price tag attached! I have found this to be a great middle of the road option. Unfortunately this is the only particular Purina One Beyond product that is available for free shipping and subscriber discounts on Amazon at the time of this review. We will consider buying this from Amazon if they ever make the larger bags (which are cheaper per pound) subscriber and Amazon Prime eligible. Great option to get this through Amazon though if you don't live near a store that sells this at a reasonable price, or if you don't have room in your apartment to keep tons of dog food around at once.

First off, I did not realize how big this GOLIATH bone really was. A light bulb should have gone off in my head, but it didn't, so I got quite a laugh when I opened up the box and literally pulled out a cow femur! Haha! My dog is 65 pounds and it was way too big for her, but I ended up just sawing the ends off and wrapping up what she wasn't chewing on. These are really great in that you are giving your dog USDA inspected beef and they are slow roasted to prevent splintering! As always, your dog should be supervised with any chew toy/bone. Only con is if the fish doesn't eat it within 2-3 seconds it will disintegrate and look like saw dust. Not really an issue for me because when I pick the food container up my fish is sitting at the top waiting for it to hit the surface.

I'm not sure what it is, but when I fed this to my tetras, they almost ignored it. I guess it'll take them a while to get used to the new food, being fed fish flakes for the 3 months I've had them. My filter isn't working, so the brine shrimp pieces didn't get much attention. They mostly only eat fish food when it starts sinking to the bottom of the tank (when the food is mid-level, the tetras act like a torpedo going after the food). Overall, I think that this was a good buy for my tetras and soon to be in the tank guppies, especially if I have to only buy this once a month, although, to be honest, I wish that there was a subscription option so I don't have to continue visiting Amazon to order this every month and I can rely on the shrimp to get here fast so I don't run out and the tetras become staved. .

He just waits for this stuff. The little brat. They come in big cubes, so for the betta you have to pinch off a little bit. We have 2 pembroke corgis, one 60 pound hound of mixed heritage, who all love these saddle bones. These bones are great chews for active chewers which all of our dogs are. We only allow the bones under supervision with our large 60 pound 1 year old pup because he is such an active chewer that he will break off bone pieces. The older corgis just knaw contently without as much vigor once the meaty bits are gone.

I used to give our dogs bully sticks but those last at the most an hour even the 12" ones, so they were always looking to chew on something. I tried different flavored Nylabones with very little luck. The corgis will not even chew a Nylabone but the pup will occasionaly chew the chicken and beef flavored ones.

The saddlebones last a good while, at least 3 months for the pup and longer for the older dogs. They do take turns chewing on eachothers bones no matter how you try to keep them separated. I keep a couple on hand for backups for those rainy days and all dogs are completely captivated for hours.

We also buy these for our kids 2 dogs; a Stafforshire Terrior and a 60 pound Labrador Mix. They also love their saddle bones! These are good size bones that do vary a little bit in size but very good for dogs anywhere from 37 to 70 pounds like ours are.

Will buy again and again. Highly recommended

About the negative comment I can make about these treats is that they are not easy to find on store shelves. A container of the treats weighs 22 ounces so shipping costs will be on the high end.

The treats themselves are fabulous. The four and a quarter inch strips are thick enough to be chewy, yet soft enough for our poor Piper who has five extracted teeth. I like that the first ingredient is chicken and missing from the treats are artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. Cranberries are seventh on the ingredient list, but too high a cranberry content might make the treats unpalatable for pooches.

I highly recommend these all natural treats, the Rolls Royce of dog treats.

We have been paying $16 for 12 pig ears at a local store for our dogs, which is about $1.25 per ear. This pig ears from the local store are huge though. Now, I bought these Beefeater pig ears off of Amazon, 25 for $22. At this price, I paid about 88 cents per pig ear. I guess I got what I paid for. Unfortunately, these Beefeater pig ears are tiny compared to what we were getting! They are about 2 inches by 3 inches....it only occupies my dog for about three minutes. So, I will not be ordering these again.

While this is not supposed to replace your dog's food, they'd like it if it did! The reason I give it 4 stars is because of the 'premium price'. I picked them up at a local grocery closeout store for $2 a bag with 18 months left until the the 'best before' date. My doggies haven't said anything about them being stale, so I guess Newman's Own has done it again.

CONCLUSION: Organic, high quality dog treats. Nice product.

After being constantly given nasty looks, as they turned their noses up at the food bowl when trying the C&P Adult version we hit gold. They really go after this stuff. It serves my purpose much better than I expected too. I have one younger more active dog and one older less active dog. So I wanted to maintain the younger ones weight, if not gain a pound or so in the process but on the other hand I wanted my older dog to lose some.

I was a little hesitant my goal would be achieved but after speaking to a C&P rep. at lenght we came up with the proper amounts to feed each dog to keep the younger healthy and active without losing weight yet gaining just a small amount of weight. The same with the older. Feed her less so she will lose slowly, adjusting amounts as needed, and increase her activity level.

So far the advice has worked well. My little guy has gained just 1/4 of a pound which is great for 6lb dog. The Queen of the household has lost about 3/4lb so far which is also good. I don't want her dumping 2 pounds or more overnight.

They still get their dried fruits and veggies they liked ( the only thing they liked ) from the adult and they sure like like the kibble 100% better. This is a very good all purpose high quality food. Weight Management is just a bit misleading I think.

Yes, it certanely will do weight management but it works well for dogs who need to lose or gain weight. Also the word "weight"

can make some, including myself, think more of a senior dog. This food is not just for seniors. It works well on any stage dog except a puppie. I think if more people started feeding their dogs, at an earlier age, with a weight management food it would save them and their pets weight issues further along in life
