I two Scottish Terrier puppies who chewed their respective Kong teething sticks apart within a week. They were able to break off chunks of rubber which I had to pry out of their mouths.
I loved the old Kong balls -they had 4 holes to insert treats. The one I had lasted 9 years -My beloved Scottie, Miss Vivian chewed on it at least twice each day for all that time. I still have it in her memory box. The new Kongs are junk at best.

I love all Kong products! Along with this teething stick, I also purchased the Puppy treat mix that comes in the tube, and the treats you can stick in the ridges of the toy. In the mornings when I'm getting ready for work, I get the Teething Stick out and my puppy instantly knows he's about to get a treat! I put a pea size amount of the treat mix in each end of the stick, and then 3-4 of the hard treats in the outside ridges, put it on the ground, grab my stuff, and quietly leave for work. :) The thing keeps him entertained for several hours. I have tried Kongs of every shape and size, with every kind of goop on them. My standard poodles just dont like rubber to chew. Maybe not the fault of the toy, but Kongs get so much hype it kind of bugs me. They are NOT the "go to" toy that all dogs love. They are rubber. This chew stick is messy, so you will want to try it out on a washable surface.My dogs prefer antlers and bully sticks. The real thing. They could care less about rubber toys (unless the toy has a squeak they can kill.)

Did LOTS of research online for dog carriers and there is a lot of garbage out there. This company seems to have the best made products. For my 2 year Norwich Terrier, Teddy, who weighs 16 lbs, this is the answer. Was searching for something for Winter hikes in the woods when the snow is too deep for his stubby little legs and great for our other dog. The sling carrier is an arm/neck killer for a dog his weight for any length of time which we also have. And the kangaroo pouch is just too open and pulled forward for his weight as well. Had read the other reviews prior to buying and definitely think this is dog specific. Teddy just so happens to enjoy being held in this position so it is somewhat natural for him. In truth, have not hiked with him in it yet, but when I put him in it and walked around the house and then asked my husband what he looked like...he was sleeping:) So I don't think a problem especially if the choice is deep snow!
Addendum: January 22, 2013. Finally got to try out and am really satisfied. It definitely takes some negotiating finding his stubby little legs but once he's in he does not complain! It is the most comfortable carrying position I've come across. We hiked in the woods in the snow for a while and then when it was too much for him I picked him up and maneuvered him into the carrier. I think it will get easier as we both get more used to it. I think dogs with spindly long legs may not like and would get cold as well.

I bought this to use on my weekend walks and hikes with my 13 lb Shih Tzu mix rescue dog. I read all of the reviews and decided to try it anyway figuring it was better than carrying him in my arms. I used it around the house a few times to make sure my dog was comfortable with it and all went well. I like all of the adjustable tabs on both sides of the pack and the padded shoulder straps were great. I just returned from a hiking trip with my husband and dog in the PA mountains. I used the pack during a 1/2 day hike and it worked great. My dog was comfortable and so was I even with the dog pack and a backpack. I had several people stop us on the trail to check out my dog and the pack. Everyone thought I had a baby until they looked closer and saw it was my dog. One little boy even asked me "Why are you wearing a dog?" This pack with make it possible for me and my husband to include our dog in all of our outdoor activities without worrying about him getting tired. I did use the chest strap from my backpack to run through my dogs harness to keep him extra secure because he did flop forward a bit in the pack. I thought this would be awesome. first one arrived and one of the straps was unstitched from the body of the bag. Sent it back immediately. They were great in getting me a new one but the second was loose in the same spot as the first. I don't think the construction is of very high quality. Previously, I said "The upper part of the carrier does not lay close to my chest." I now solved the problem. I clip her harness to the part of the carrier that is on my chest. I ordered this and checked the measurements. My 11 pound Shih Tzu Maltese mix does not fit properly. He is too long, the holes for the legs are horribly positioned and it is poorly designed overall. His front legs don't even remotely line up with where the holes are so I have to loosen them until the point of having them on is defeated. The holes at the bottom for his back legs are spaced awkwardly and it is a huge hassle to get his legs into them. There are no straps that run across the middle of the carrier which causes the dog to fall forward and gives the sensation of him constantly on the verge of falling out (that combined with his body being 6 inches away from mine gives him no security). Someone else mentioned their dog falling forward in a review so I tried putting a small rolled up shirt in front of him to make him flush with my body. Unfortunately it didn't work. So, in conclusion I strongly suggest that you do not purchase this product. I would return it if I could. Overall... I would never suggest this carrier.

These seem like the average tennis ball but hard. They don't "squeeze" so my Doberman pup perfers her other tennis balls that do squeeze and squeek. They are good for a ball to just throw in the yard. The reason for only three stars is she never chooses to play with these on her own and will always pick something else every time. I didn't realize the hidden goodness is vegetables but my dog sure did. She will eat the same flavors without veggies so it must leave some flavor in there dogs detect. The dog we bought it for is a 15 year old Jack Russell who had to have a lot of teeth pulled and needed soft food. She would barely taste it although she wolfs down other soft food. I'm sure it is nutritious but my dog at least didn't appreciate the hidden goodness. My dogs really love these and they do help to keep their teeth clean. Our local pet stores and supermarkets don't carry them any more. I prefer the chicken flavored as the dyes in the beef ones stain floors and pet fur.

My current dog and previous dog really like these. They are a longer lasting chew. I have a medium terrier and she will usually consume it in about 45 minutes but I know for other dogs, they last multiple days. If the dog tears on the long strip of the Texas Taffy, it is stringy like string cheese. My dog chews on the ends for awhile, peels a strip off then chew on that for awhile...repeat. Merrick also makes a "Wizzler" chew which is thicker and not stringy. I have been giving my dogs Merrick's Texas Taffy for a long time and they love it. Normally this would be a 5 Star review but no longer and not due to any fault of Amazon's.Pros: Amazon shipping, Amazon service, Amazon price.
Cons: It appears that Merrick has recently reduced the size and quality of their Texas Taffy. Merrick used to market these as 10-12". recently I have seen 8-9", Amazon doesn't proclaim a size (length) only the count (30) in their ad, but in the last two 30-cnt boxes I have purchased you would be hard pressed to find any much larger that 5-6" and very skimpy at that. Nothing like the picture on Amazons ad. It's not just Amazon, I have also purchased from other sources and had the same results. Pay more, get less. Thanks Merrick!

First, let me say that my Akita loves these things. The product itself, despite a recall in 2011, seems to be great.Now, let's get to the 1 star part. Over the past couple years, since the recall of the 10-12" Texas Taffy, I have made a casual notice that the size of the product seemed to be getting smaller. Add to this a price increase.
In the past few months, I have bought 3 boxes of the 10-12" Texas Taffy. There is no way that these things are anywhere near 10-12". With today's arrival of a brand new box I measured all the chews.
The average size: 8.25 inches
I wrote to Merrick customer service last week, and I was informed that the product is now 7-9 inches. I have 3 problems with all this:
1. This product is still advertised as 10-12" from places that sell it online.
2. Extrapolating from the sizes of today's box, I estimate the average size of past boxes (2008-2011) to be ~ 11.25 inches.
3. Looking at my receipts since 2008 for the purchase of 30 count boxes of 10-12" Texas Taffy the prices have have risen by an average of almost 10$ per box.
How much more can we, as consumers, take with companies flagrantly ripping us off?
Todays box: 6.73 inches to 9.29 inches AVG=8.25
Older box estimate: 9.73 to 12.29 inches AVG=11.25
= 27% decrease in size
2008-2010 avg price: 40.99
2011-2013 VG PRICE: 50.88
19% increase in price

Love this leash. Super durable, the clipped hand loop is super convenient for quick tie-ups when I need to leave the dog for a minute. I LOVE the poop bag pocket. My dog loves this Frisbee he can play catch with it for hours. We discovered the typical plastic Frisbees were cutting his mouth the rims were becoming ragged and sharp. This frisbee is okay. Not horrible, not great.It's not our first choice when choosing a toy to play with outside -our dog (and we) prefer the floppy Booda disc because
1) our dog has a hard time picking the Sonic Flyer up if he doesn't catch it in the air and it lands face-up. It takes some pawing to get the job done...
and
2) I have a harder time throwing the Sonic Flyer. I can't get it to float long enough in the air!

My youngest cat is very particular about what he eats. He absolutely will not eat if something doesn't meet his expectations. Between that and the recent pet food recalls, I've had a really hard time finding cat food that I can feed him. I'm happy to say that the Merrick Turducken clicks with him, plus it has no wheat gluten or other fillers. The texture of it is appealing, too . . . it's not just "mush" or Spam-looking like many foods. I'll continue to buy Turducken and plan to also try out some of the other Merrick flavors.

Merrick makes 3 different lines of food. Classic, Purrfect Bistro, and Before Grain. Both the Classic and Purrfect Bistro have a Turducken flavor. This (and most of the reviews here) used to be the Classic Turducken until just recently, when Amazon started shipping the Purrfect Bistro Turducken instead, even though the pictures, descriptions and reviews were all for the Classic. After questions and returns, Amazon stopped shipping this for a week or so . . . and then changed the picture to reflect the Purrfect Bistro Turducken . . . without changing the name or noting that it's a different product than what people have reviewed.
Just wanted to highlight the change, because the reviews are for a different product, and if you have ordered and your cats like the Classic Turducken, there's no guarantee they will like the Purrfect Bistro Turducken.

I had been feeding my cat the Turducken recipe for months. He has a rare genetic disorder that causes him to form urate stones, and part of his prevention plan is to eat a low-purine diet. This means absolutely no liver of any kind. I searched high and low for a food that he liked that didn't have liver as an ingredient (which is rare). Turducken fit that criteria... until I got my last order. First, I notice the new packaging. Then I immediately think to check the ingredients... $%^&*!!! They added liver! This isn't the first time this has happened (he was also on the Blue Buff. duck, but they suddenly changed that one earlier this year to include liver as well). Note to cat food companies... not all cats can eat liver. It's not an improvement. Please stop. My cat almost died from pancreatitis and liver failure last year, as a result of the excessive carbohydrates contained in her diet of "healthy" canned food. After several months of making homemade food, I was thrilled to find Merrick's 96% BG chicken and turkey canned formulas that were limited to meat and basic supplements. She did well on these and the convenience of auto-ship provided a solution for both of us.However, the 96% BG formulas were recently replaced by this new line. My local pet shop owner assured me that the new line was even better. It isn't. Within a month of starting this food, my cat developed impacted anal glands and was increasingly vocal after bowel movements. Upon reviewing ingredients from the new line, I see they now have added in potatoes and fruits. This line is cleverly marketed, using homey names and illustrations to describe human meals, not cat meals. What cat in nature eats apples and potatoes? These are the substances that made my cat sick in the first place.
Today I took her to the vet and we are awaiting lab results to make sure her pancreas and liver are okay. The vet agrees that the new food is the likely culprit and has put my cat at risk. Simple carbohydrates are not in a cat's normal diet. They can cause inflammation and heat in the GI tract. Initially I was grateful for Merrick for offering a simple and safe food solution for my cat. Now I'm disappointed and perplexed as to why they would just be another player in a market full of complex, unnecessary, and potentially harmful cat food blends.

I open a can of this stuff, and it looks like real food. I spoon it onto the dishes for my four, and it dishes like actual meat and sauce. All four of them dive right into it, and all four saucers are licked clean.I have seen the health benefits to my cats from feeding them high quality grain-free food. This Turducken canned food is one of the staples of their diet. I love feeding it to them, and they love eating it.
In my view, it's worth the extra money to get really good food for one's pets.
