These are just the right size for our two Boston Terriers. They love the flavors of all the Itty Bitty Buddy Biscuits. We use them as treats during training and they have been very effective.

Just recently ordered the Sweet Potato flavor. Dogs love them. (What don't dogs love to eat?) But, this product crumbles on its own, leaving the cookie container full of small pieces. This is not true of the other flavors. So, we will stick with the Itty Bitty product but never again order the Sweet Potato flavor.

Our JRT is usually crazy about anything 'sweet potato', but she did not seem to care for these so much...and they arrived in small pieces. The veggie variety did great, and she loves them. I would not order these again (sweet potato variety).

I use these treats for a treat ball for my dogs. They are typically the perfect size and my dogs love them. The problem with this order was that the treats were all broken into tiny little pieces during the packing and/or shipping process, making them virtually useless.

HDP Freeze Dried Chicken Breast 4 Oz

Customer Ratings:
List Price: Price Unavailable
Sale Price: $9.99
Today's Bonus:

For a few years, His Majesty The Mighty Mouser Cat of an Extraordinary Nature (he prefers the use of his full title), has enjoyed Liv-A-Littles chicken treats, and we decided to try HDP product.

HDP Freeze Dried Chicken Breast 4 oz. is a bag of individual chicken tenderloins, pictured accurately on product page, about 9 of them in the bag we received. They are packaged with silica gel packets to absorb moisture. Flavor is as good as Halo product because His Majesty is just as eager for his treat and always asks for more. Since we get a case of Halo Liv-A-Littles at a time, HDP cost is better than half off Halo.

The tenderloins are large pieces, maybe 3 or 4 inches long, which do not break off quite so easily. Freeze dried meat tissue is stringy, and the tenderloin has that long piece of sinew still intact. During production, it appears the tenderloins are processed on a tray with paper liners. Paper remnants are still attached where the chicken was on the tray liner during production. While breaking or cutting, you'll want to remove the sinew and the paper. For a cat, smaller bite-size pieces are needed. Freeze dried meat does not cut so easily, although maybe I'll try a different knife and technique. The shreds can get long and stringy.

We use about one 2oz. container of Halo a month, stored in the jar in the refrigerator. We cut three tenderloins and placed it in the sealed jar which leaves the other 6 right now sealed in the original bag inside a ziploc bag. We will evaluate how well it keeps since the 4 oz. HDP chicken will last longer than a sealed container of Halo.

Pro:

Flavor fully accepted.

Cost savings fully accepted.

Con:

Have to cut for bite size pieces.

Remove the tenderloin sinew.

Peel away residual tray liner paper.

Not sure yet:

Shelf life once opened.

Bottom line:

Smaller container size of Halo ensures fresh product, Halo chicken appears to be from the other part of the chicken breast. Since it is already broken to manageable size pieces and crumbles easier, Halo may be better in terms of performance and convenience, but you can't beat the price of HDP chicken if you don't mind some advance preparation.

Amazon contacted me saying this product was as good and cheaper than Halo. I tried it. The chicken comes in whole breasts. They are hard th break apart. They break into strings. There are no directions on the packaging do yu need to refrigerate after opening? Is is just chicken or does it have chemicals too? The smell is very strong and unpleasant. I will not buy this product again.

Josie is a stray and wolfs every meal down like she's been starved and finishes her food in less than a minute. I purchased the large after reading a great review saying a whole cup will fit in the large. I like the various levels and openings you can twist the product to dispense food. We received it today and it took her about 6 mins to eat. She may not like it so much but I have been highly amused and I'm glad she's doing something interactive. Thanks! Recommend getting the large if you intend to feed your mid-size and above dog with it.

Though it does take a little bit of focus to fill the toy up with kibble without unscrewing it entirely (often falls out the other side), this is a great way to keep my mastiff puppy engaged and keeps her from scarfing down her meals all at once. The puppy kibble falls out pretty easily, even when the toy is tightened down all the way, but I imagine that bigger bits will be perfect when she grows to be a little bigger. After several weeks of use, this thing seems plenty durable and is holding up fine. Very happy that I can just stick it in the dishwasher after use!

Buy Realtree Twist 'n Treat Dog Toy, Large Now

I bought this as a Christmas present for my dog. He won't play with it. I've tried showing him how to bat at it, rolled it around on the floor so he sees where the food comes out, practically stood on my head trying to get him interested. He wants the food/treats, but he won't play with this. He will stick his tongue in the hole and fish out the food and then tilt it the other direction and try to get more food from the other side. Once he's gotten all the food/treats he can by doing that, he's done. He won't bat at it or push it with his nose or anything. He's had other treat balls and puzzles that he liked, but he always manages to break them or the treats come out way too easy and he doesn't have to work for it. I thought this would be a good purchase because it's tough and adjustable so you can let a little bit or a lot out at a time. My dog just doesn't think it's that fun.

I love these and have 6 on hand at all times for my 3 little dogs--I own 6 rather than 3 because they love them as well, and often hide them in places I cannot find them.

Try inserting a sliver of cheese and half a small milkbone or other treat--your canine companion will play happily with it for as long as it takes to get the cheese, which obviously will vary widely, dog to dog. My guys are all Bichons, yet each has their own theory on how best to tackle their Petstages Occupi Treat Dog Toy, Medium. Each one takes a different amount of time to solve the puzzle.

You can also freeze these in hot weather with a bit of peanut butter and a treat inside, or stuff them with canned dog food and freeze.

Great dog toy, buy several!

I have a maltese and a poodle mix. Besides placing a bone-shaped treat into the largest opening, I found my own way to stuff with treats: placing small cubes of freeze-dried beef liver treats deep into the tube and stuffing small bits of Pupperoni into the small side holes. The Pupperoni treats are an easy goal, but the liver cubes are harder because they have to either chew the toy to push/crush the cubes out or lick the cubes out. Both ways give my dogs some exercise and fun. It may last about 15-30 min depending how wedged the cubes are.

The only CON are this toy is that it can be very small to clean. I have the small size toy (for toy breeds). Medium size may be too large and heavy for toy breeds, but they're probably easier to clean.

This was a great idea only IF YOU have a dog that doesn't chew as if it's a professional sport.. if you do have a high end chewer don't get this. It has not lasted but a few days had to toss it out because I worried about them eating pieces of rubber.

Read Best Reviews of Petstages Occupi Treat Puppy Toy Here

I found this toy at Petco on clearance for a dollar or so and decided to give it a try. I read its description and it mentioned being able to utilize several treats to keep a dog's attention. I thought I'd try to see if it would hold my existing dog food that I get from Costco in the maroon package by Kirkland and it was a perfect fit!

I filled all the little holes with Kirkland dog food and later filled the inner chamber with dog food first, and then plugged the holes with the same food, causing pressure to be exerted on the inner chamber of food disallowing it from falling out.

My dog was very happy! He is a Chihuahua and an aggressive chewer. He has torn up other toys, and I have been reassured by pet specialists that this is normal behavior; but other than a small tear, this toy has held up.

I am not currently sure where this toy is, last I saw it was by the couch, but when it was actively used, I would have to refill it once or twice a day. I no longer have any of the Kirkland food that fits this toy, otherwise I'd find it and put it back in use.

I have been told that dogs like to test their toys for weaknesses and exploit them; thus being a good idea to not leave them with the same set of toys for long periods of time. Rotate the toys to keep dogs occupied and keep toys intact. I suppose if my dog could use a computer, he'd make an excellent brute-force hacker.

Like with my review of the tuna flavoured Greenies Hairball treats, my cats love these and would eat the whole bag at once if I let them.

My only concern is that my vet told me not to give them more than 3 or 4 of these treats per day because of the chlorophyll in them. This is after Misha had to have surgery in December to remove a bladder stone, so she is having to watch her diet. I don't know if the same aviso would apply for cats in general.

Although hairballs are not completely eliminated, there is a noticable reduction with continued use of these treats. I will continue purchasing the treats and highly recommend them. The price is slightly cheaper ordering on Amazon in comparison with most stores. However I recommend price checking every time before placing an order, as the price changes quite often.

If you're setting out a whole can at once or transferring some of it to a container for later use, flip the can over and use a can opener to remove the bottom of the can. You can then pop the top of the can, releasing the vacuum holding the food in place and the whole thing will slide out cleanly. Much easier and tidier than scraping out the can with a spoon!

I've been feeding Wellness grain free for a couple years now with great results for my 3 cats. I believe the cost of a top quality food is well worth it in healthy, happy cats and reduced vet bills, but still the cost of Wellness has been prohibitive. I was excited to see Felidae had a grain free formula in the larger sized cans, and for a much lower price, so I am trying it. Just switched them over this week, so far so good. The bowls have been licked clean, and while I questioned the whole peas when I saw them, they weren't left in the bowl. The ingredients and quality of the Felidae seems comparable to the Wellness, so unless I find information indicating otherwise (and I've been looking), I think we'll stick with Felidae.

This cat food has great, healthy ingredients. Cats shouldn't eat grain because it is not a part of their traditional diet. (Think: Mice, Rodents, Moles, Grasses, Rabbits, Bird, etc) I switched my cat from Iam's canned food to this one, thinking that I would have to mix them together at first to get her to eat it. However, she ate it immediately! I was so happy! As another reviewer said, there are whole peas in this stuff. It looks a little gross, but my cat eats it. However, I must admit that she will eat just about anything. Her favorite treats are sproated oat grass, spinach and broccoli stalks. She's a good eater!

Before I switched to Felidae Grain free, my cat was vomiting frequently. I think it was due to food allergies (either to grain or food coloring maybe) Since switching she has only thrown up one time! You can only imagine how happy I am to not have to clean up vomit every other day!

Also, since switching my cat's fur is much more smooth and soft!

I have 5 house cats. One was recently diagnosed with diabetes. We got his diabetes under control with insulin but I began researching diet information to help us. All of my research led us to try Felidae grain free. I spent two weeks carefully switching Louis (and the four girls) from dry Iams to Felidae. I was immediately able to decrease his insulin and by the time I had him totally on Felidae we were able to discontinue insulin totally. All with our veterinarian's supervision, a consistent feeding schedule and measured amounts. (It has not been effortless but it has been worthwhile.) Louis has been insulin free for two weeks now. All five cats (ages 5 to 19) love the food. Their stools are good, their coats look wonderful & they haven't vomited for weeks. YAY!

I've been on the hunt for high quality, yet affordable cat food for my little ones the past few months. I decided to order a case of Felidae (along with a case of Pet Guard Fish, Chicken & Liver Food for Cats). Well, they love the Petguard but absolutely hate the Felidae, all three of them sniffed/licked it and looked at me like "you're kidding..right?" Even mixing in some of their old food and gradually trying to change them over wouldn't work, they'd sniff it and walk off.

They LOVE the Petguard though and will inhale it the second I put it on their plates, so at least I discovered one good food they'll eat. I guess I'll donate the 8 cans of Felidae I have left to the local shelter. Despite the fact my cats wouldn't eat it I still gave it 3 stars because it IS a great quality food...if your cats will eat it.

I have tried many products for my dog's buffalo breath and nothing has worked. I considered trying "Greenies," but was aghast when I saw how expensive they are. Then I spotted the "Breath Bites" and thought I'd give them a try. My dog is 50 lbs so I give her one chew daily, in the evening after she is finished eating for the day. I didn't notice a difference right away, but after a couple weeks I realized I was no longer wrinkling my nose and turning my head away when having a close encounter with my dog. I highly recommend this product.

I tried this product in effort to resolve a horrible breath problem with my moms dog Charlie, after adopting him. Yes, he does have some dental issues at age 15 and had him checked by the the vet. After a daily dose of breath bites , approx. 1 week later, there was a noticable improvement. It was difficult to be around Charlie before this, now only if he pants or is cleaning himself is his breath still an issue. Definitely worth a try !

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've got 4 small dogs and one of them has breath so bad I can't stand for her to face me. Oddly, she was the only one of the four who seemed less than interested in these treats and normally she's the biggest chowhound of them all. I wish I could say I've seen a difference in her -or rather smelled a difference -but when I looked her in the face on the couch tonight I literally gagged. Seriously. The wrong end of this dog smells better than her breath. She's only 3 but I'm going to have her teeth cleaned by the vet and have them take a more serious look down in there -it's possible something has died and is still stuck between her teeth. That's the way it smells anyway. If that doesn't work maybe I'll try some spirulina powder all by itself which is the dominant active ingredient in Breath Bites. Good thing she's spayed because the girl would never get a date with that breath.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program These bites are a little too small for the size of both of my dogs. They pretty much inhaled the treats instead of chewing them... so they didn't much help their breath. Now, on the rare occasion that one of my dogs would actually chew the treatit did improve their breath. They seemed to like them too. I just think that this size breath bite would be better for smaller dogs. Definitely worth the money if you have a toy sized dog and I would purchase them in a bigger size. Great product other than the tiny size!
